Solo Van life in Europe Begins - Day 1

- Today heather leaves to go and travel around Europe in Lottie. This was a very hard goodbye. She is going to have an amazing.. although we are both sure, challenging time on the road alone. Well not completely alone. Brandy is there with her. Ieuan was kept behind with work engagements and after a long build, Heather was ready to road test Lottie to her fullest extent.
Heather id Daily Vlogging and for the next two weeks will be releasing an episode daily.
Heather, above all, please, please, please, enjoy the trip and take your time getting used to it all. Itll be absolutely amazing, honestly

My wife lived out of our motorhome for 3years over covid lockdown & we only got to see each other every 3 weekend most of the time but now she is home we are now spending more quality time together & making the most of our weekend & motorhome together.

Gosh that's so hard. COVID was such an isolating time for so many people. Amazing to hear you were both strong through it and are making the most of your quality time now 😁👏👏

I'm so glad I started going through your old videos. My gf and I are doing our van , our slow and costly van.. and here you dropped a detail that's bothered me about my van, it's got a clean MOT, no issues... But yeh, motorway, 50 on average! Pffff so glad it's not just my van. Is it the shape? Age?? Or standard?
Hi Heather. Just want to wish you luck on your adventure. I am just starting my own Luton conversion this week and your UA-cam videos have been a great source of inspiration with all the do's and don'ts and also very entertaining! You both very natural on camera. I was surprised today to see you going it alone but I truly believe it could be the making of you. I once went backpacking with a friend on a journey through the middle East. 3 weeks into it he decided he couldn't go any further and admitted he found the lifestyle too hard. After a very upsetting conversation/argument, he got a flight home next day. To say I was gutted would be an understatement. I had planned the journey for years and it had been the focus I had needed after leaving uni. It took me a few days of mopeing around before I galvanised my nerves and decided to push on alone. To this day I still remember it as the greatest travel experience of my life. Why? Because when you are a couple or friends you tend to stay in your own bubble a bit and while you have chats with others and great experiences, that's about it. On your own though, people tend to find you more approachable and You also make more effort yourself to interact. I ended up sharing the trip with some great couples and solo travellers from all over the world, tagging along when it suited, moving on when our paths diverged. I grew in confidence more in those solo experiences than I ever could of with my friend. Whilst I know you love your guy to bits and will have some great experiences with him in the future, I hope you can take this opportunity to learn about yourself and grow in confidence. I met most fellow travellers through following guide books like lonely planet and rough guide. Because every other traveller reads them. You all end up at the same places, like a travel trail. Anyway, Enjoy your journey and good luck!
Thanks for telling me your story. It is very intimidating as a solo traveller but I'm taking it slow and adjusting to the road. I would absolutely love to do as you have done and meet us with fellow travellers or vanlifeuk and have some shared adventures and memories 👏😁
I have followed this journey from the start and you both inspired me to do my own conversion.
I am so sorry to hear that the timing for both of you hasn't been ideal but I couldn't be happier hearing business is going well and that you are going ahead with this adventure. Afterall all it is only short term pain for long term gain.
You have all of us along with you for the adventure so you are not alone and we will do our utmost to pick you up when you are missing your amazing husband!
Darren, that's so kind 😊 it's tough but as you say, we are extremely lucky to be in the position to travel and have a business taking off. Just making the most of it.

I’m so sorry to hear that your trip is starting not quite as you planned it but that doesn’t mean to say that it can’t be a fabulous trip. It’s clear that both of your journeys are important but hopefully this will bring you both growth and strength individually but also as a couple. You support each other and that’s clear to see. You'll be fine driving on the wrong side of the road is not a problem keep your head nice and cool think yourself out where you going and joy your adventure and you have got a great to do it with I had and they are amazing then I will go on forever changing the name of bullet proof so you'll be fine just enjoy your adventure and hope your dog enjoys his adventure with you to look after yourself all the best and wait for the next blog
