17 or 18 pound a month no contract unlimited 4 g/ 5g sim that's fast with unlimited calls and texts , order the SIM from smarty, use a 5g router or 5g cheap phone if you want it dedicated or just use your phone. If you want it dedicated you can extend the 4/5g antenna for a better signal in remote areas
It's an awesome deal - we got the same package in February this year and it cost us £22 a month. Definitely well worth it if you are out an about with people who use the internet all the time (internet intensive 11 year old's eh).
How many miles away from a town will it pick up a signal from I'm camping in the woods in Scotland its about 5mile away from the nearest town do you think it will still be OK thanks
@@richardpedley6291 hi Richard...they use the normal phone network, so you are limited to where you can get signal. If you get signal on your phone then usually you get signal on the WiFi device.

When you say it's plugged into the cigarette lighter, do you mean it's charging via usb adapter in the lighter? Does it charge on usb port sorta thing? Sorry, just trying to work out if I could do a similar thing with it by plugging it into a usb 3-pin plug. And have you found any issues with keeping it on charge all the time or is it alright? great video as always, although I believe you could buy the huawei wifi dongle buy it’s self for about £40 max and buy a rolling contract from three, unlimited data for £18 a month. Which saves you £9 a month!
To improve connection over a congested limited 4gg dongle, try sending the data to a relay instead because its better designed to handle high transmit rates and don't rely on batteries. That being said, for better signal try more height, maybe some kind of antenna mod?
I got one of them liam but when It got delivered realised that you couldn't attach a external antenna so sent it back, I ended up getting a home WiFi modem ( unlimited ) from them instead but the thing with them is you can take it from your home and proving you can get 12 v to it you can put it in the van WITH a external arial, I am with "3" also and pay 21 a month unlimited, we was in the lakes somewhere ( cant remember where ) very remote and couldn't believe I had a good signal.
I was on the same plan with three (£27) for unlimited. My mate had just joined three and received unlimited for £20. I called three and told them to give me a better offer, which they did. Unlimited data for £10 for six month and thereafter £20. Saved me £144
@@LiamTheTerrible Its not good, there is a reason for the price difference. Three has a 1TB data cap on their unlimited data sim, Vodafone scrapped their cap in 2022 its fully unlimited. I go over 1TB every once and a while if I binge a new show in 4K or download several games that month.

Very interesting video and I just got the vodafone WiFi hotspot when I go camping etc so I'll test it out in places like skye Aviemore and Glencoe to see how good it is. Vodafone say 32 devices can be connected and 4G with 300mbps speeds so hopefully it delivers the goods. Ultimate WiFi will be so good for watching youtube and Google tv. Does this mean unlimited downloads on playstation 5 and on laptop? This little device should last years and OK it's contract but you don't need to worry how much you use it to watch youtube on laptop. Clever device!

Hi Liam. The dongles are great I have one with external antenna thanks to gadget john. I use the giffgaff network and have unlimited data for £25 the benefit of giffgaff is I can choose when I top it up so not tied to a contract useful if on a budget. It's worth having a look. Good video.
Liam when u get these unlimited packages you need to double check because not all are...they have a fair usage policy on some and if you use what they seem to be too mych bandwidth they may slow your connection down or restrict your service

Depending how much data you use, I was on virgin media, £80ish for the TV internet. Dropped the internet, went down 1 TV grade, (mostly just a few HD channels) now £40. I'm on Three, SIM only £21 unlimited data plus plenty of phone. Mainly use my phone for intetnet but there's a 30GB Hotspot allowance. So you can either transfer work onto the phone via a micro SD card, unlimited, or use the phone as a hotspot. 4 g is fast enough and 5g available (not sure how much) but you need a 5g phone for that. There's also roaming in Europe, but you're limited to 18(?) GB and only 2 months each year. P.S You don't *really* need a landline!
I’ve had mine for 4 months it works great but the battery is not that great I find it lasts about three hours not the 6 that they say when watching films But saying that I love it
I’m not sure if this is 100% accurate but I was informed that having it plugged in all the time when in use reduces the Wi-Fi strength I think the added electricity interferes with the Wi-Fi

you might kill the battery by overcharging if it is plugged in all the time, but if you aren't taking it out of the van, then that's not an issue. Does it still work if you take the battery out, & then plug it in?
with dc unlocker most mifi will be enable mod to work on usb without battery.I use on power netgear ac810s this router work with 20w charger very stabile without battery factory on the box

Thanks for the video - we've been looking at this, it's great for the UK but when you go abroad it limits you to 19GB/month in the rest of the EU :( - which its a bummer... but you could get unlimited data in Poland, Croatia and such for about £2 (only unlimited within said country still) ;D

Virgin charges what they can get away with (too much).
Using a mobile as a hub is fine, 4g is plenty for the vast majority.

with dc unlocker most mifi will be enable mod to work on usb without battery.I use on power netgear ac810s this router work with 20w charger very stabile without battery factory on the box
Hi Liam. What's the WiFi range outside of the van? I have a solar powered security camera 25 yards away from my teepee. My smartphone only connect's to it at less than 10 yards away. Would mobile WiFi work better? Longer range? 🙏

Thanks for the video - we've been looking at this, it's great for the UK but when you go abroad it limits you to 19GB/month in the rest of the EU :( - which its a bummer... but you could get unlimited data in Poland, Croatia and such for about £2 (only unlimited within said country still) ;D
