A 19th century song. No partitionism here! Tandragee the home of Northern Tayto don't you know. Mr Yellow Tayto is indeed a fine rollicking fellow!

Great fun guys! And was that the wonderful Cathy Jordan doing the glamorous into?
Hi! Where are you based?
Do you do weddings?? 😁😁
Good luck to all here now barring the cat
That sits in the corner there smelling a rat
O wheesht your philandering girls and behave
And saving you presence, I'll chant you a stave
I come from the land where the pritties grow big
And the boys neat and handy can swirl in a jig
And the girls they would charm your heart for to see
Those darling colleens around Tandragee
So here's to the boys who are happy and gay
Singing and dancing and tearing away
Rollicksome, frollicksome, frisky and free
We're the rollicking boys around Tandragee
No doubt you have heard of Killarney I'm sure
And sweet Innishowen for a drop of the pure
Dublin's the place for the strawberry beds
And Donnybrook Fair for the cracking of heads
Have you e'er seen an Irishman dancing palltog
How he faces his partner and turns up his brogue
He shakes at the buckle and bends at the knee
They're wonderful dancers in Tandragee
Here's to the boys who are happy and gay
Singing and dancing and tearing away
Rollicksome, frollicksome, frisky and free
We're the rollicking boys around Tandragee
Now the oul jaunting car is an elegant joult
And Derry's a place that is famed for a hoult
Among the green bushes that grow in Tyrone
And the County Fermanagh for muscle and bone
But for feasting and dancing and fun at the fair
Sure there's no one can match with the Rakes of Kildare
Green Erin's my country, the gem of the sea
But the gem of oul Ireland is Tandragee
Here's to the boys who are happy and gay
Singing and dancing and tearing away
Rollicksome, frollicksome, frisky and free
We're the rollicking boys around Tandragee
O where is the man, either Christian or Turk
Could equal the bold Robert Emmett or Burke
O where is the lawyer can speak up like Dan
The devil another, bad luck to the one
And where is the singer can sing like Tom Moore
Whose melodies charm all dull care from your door
But we'll beat them all yet boys, and that you will see
For we're raring fine fellows round Tandragee
So here's to the boys who are happy and gay
Singing and dancing and tearing away
Rollicksome, frollicksome, frisky and free
We're the rollicking boys around Tandragee
Fyrir börnin og framtíðina
Bualadh cloiginn
They've never been to Tandragee I tink..
i live in tandragee
Fair play to you for dipping into the wider culture.
I bought some wasabi plants from a very imminent scientist in Tandsgree
Tá súil agam go mbeidh tú rud éigin speisialta arís
Þú hefur gleymt kjarna þínum
Ami Dirt for the children and their future
Is that Cathy Jordan at the start ?
+Anthony McDermott Yes!
Yes from dervish
This song is a joke as it attributes Irish stage stereotypes to a protestant area with a douer reputation. I love this song. I didnt know of this singer before. Im a fan now. Hes got some other great songs as well.
the buill He’s right. The song’s about Tandragee, not 6 miles up the road from myself. It’s supposed to be ironic, the only thing rollicking around Tandragee is the Cusher River; it’s a dour area I suppose (an unfortunate but typical stereotype of us Irish Presbyterians, especially us ones of Scottish extraction), but the area isn’t solely Protestant since there’s a Catholic Church in the middle of the town, just across from the Church of Ireland. It’s a joking song painting an area as exactly the opposite of what it is, and it’s meant to be funny. It’s well known in Tandragee, or at least it used to be, and it never caused any offence.
Up the lillywhites
Is amhrán deas é..insíodh an scéal tríd an amhránaíocht lol......
Do na páistí agus dá dtodhchaí
I really don't know what's wrong with you, bheadh náire ar m'athair
Its not a clap along anyway :/
