    Have to say that was class. Brilliant. That's Passion and how it should be done. Every word heard and sang with the old style of Irish folk that flow through his Viens.

    For me, he is someone who sets the standard for an Irish singer. A standard that is very difficult to achieve and imitate.

    My maternal grandmothers parents were children of Irish immigrants. They came to the states via NY from somewhere in ulster. Their name was Bradley likely changed on entrance from O'Brallaghan. They ended up with a lot of other scots-irish in appalacia in PA.
    Proud of all my heritage though something about Irish culture has always just clicked with me. Loved this performance and will be adding it to my St Paddy's play list tmrw :)

    Is that a Irish bouzouki you are playing?

    • @ewaldseiland8558
      @ewaldseiland8558 3 роки тому +1

      Strictly, you can't tell without seeing the body of the instrument (flat bottom), but given that he is an Irishman playing Irish folk, I'd wager it is. A skilled ear could probably also distinguish the tuning, which is traditionally different on greek bouzoukis.

    • @TheArtofFencing
      @TheArtofFencing 3 роки тому +1

      so yes it is a irish bouzouki. Greek bouzoukis normally only have 3 courses not 4 like this one and the silhouette is pretty typical for irish bouzoukis.

    Why do the Irish always talk about the Irish who went to North America? The Irish had an enormous influence on the fabric of Australian history and culture. We are what they became. (My great grandfathers cousin married Mary Collins, the sister of Michael Collins). Peace be with you, from Australia.
