ESSAY TIME Flowey is such an interesting and complex character honestly, I feel like I see a lot of takes in the fandom that are often selling his character rather cheap imo. What I take away from this dissonance between his “damned if you do damned if you don’t” attitude of judging you NO MATTER what you do is that Flowey is berating himself through you, because he has a tendency to do two things: 1) Feeling immensely and overly guilty (Deltarune Yoshi incident, his “is this revenge? Notice how he only lashes out when really emotionally involved (he’s rather neutral when talking about Undyne or Alphys, but always has something taunting about Toriel or Asgore to say, due to contradictory feelings. The fact that talking about Papyrus is as nice as he gets openly, without any duality, but he calls Sans a “smiley TRASHBAG”… only to COPYCAT him in the final battle! Like he secretly admires him for being a cool final boss, but since he CAUSED HIM SO MUCH HEADACHE HE’LL NEVER ADMIT IT… it kinda reinforces my idea). He tends to project his thoughts and trauma onto others, when he recognises in you what he hates in himself he will berate you, when he sees something he always pitied himself for he will actually genuinely pity you (“So I don’t get it? If you actually did everything the right way why did things turn out this way? So he needs CHARA to NOT crumble. He holds CHARA to a very high regard and thinks they just KNOW BETTER(Chara’s tragedy is that they were proclaimed the Chosen One in such an early age by an entire kingdom, and they felt the obligation to deliver, accidentally gaslighting themselves and their closest friend that its true..when in reality they both were children and Chara was not some greatest hero). Flowey behaves in no Mercy differently, because he wants to believe CHARA will understand him. But he simultaneously views himself as a monster beyond redemption. So “CHARA” in that route matches his description of himself to a T, it does not compromise his worldview/ defy it to any extent, so it gives him his reassurance in his comfortable delusions and relief. If you look at his character not through this lens what he says does not seem to make much sense, those contradictions are confusing so people usually write him off as JUST a hypocrite, or JUST a sadist, but this take (while I deduced it myself and I may have overlooked something i dunno) it makes EVERY single thing he says in EVERY of his forms entirely consistent! You're right about how much more intensely he talks about Toriel or Asgore than the other characters. He may not be able to feel love or happiness, but he's certainly able to feel distress, frustration, fear, and hatred. His strong positive past feelings for people he cared about come out in expressions of other strong emotions. And I do think he hates himself a lot. He's in a situation where he's fallen to his worst urges out of never-ending boredom and despair, and he absolutely knows better than that, but he feels that his only choice is to embrace being evil. I think he knows that even if he did everything "right" and tried to improve the world with his SAVE power like he used to, it would feel pointless. He still wouldn't feel happy, and he would still hate himself - never able to forget what kind of person he can be. I think that's why he taunts you for your past mistakes even if you reload and spare Toriel. He doesn't understand forgiveness.
I'm actually so glad someone understands him. When you're in a dark place, you can't always think rationally, your mind is blurred by your subjective perception and emotions, so it is LOGICAL that his words don't seem LOGICAL and consistent. Especially if you're already convinced you have no soul so you don't have a chance to be good or just okay, you believe you're irredeemable and just supposed to be evil. And when I was wallowing in despair and hatred, I noticed how much I changed to worse and I just decided there was no hope for me and I should just be this way. Like, I should just accept and embrace my "badness" and conform to it. And if there was a bright and positive person, I'd think they were just naive and stupid because they did't know or care/notice how awful this world is, and if there was as negative person as me, I'd think they were awful, how could they be like that, they're one of the people I've always hated the most. I just hated humanity in general though. (And I still do-) That's what made me relate to Flowey at that time, I guess. And we both were just hurting. I just want him to be okay. 3:40 SO I FREAKED OUT. and started looking for videos because i was doing this route? and flowey says "thats a wonderful idea" and my game just CRASHES. so i was scared because my screen went black, and then white, and then played like a weird music and then my computer told me it crashed. idek. it was weird.
6:11 my favorite popcorn, Flowey popcorn!
No matter what you do, Flowey will still criticize you even if you breathe.
the last one made me laugh idk why
Good content, would like to see more.
I thought the one where you spare Toriel after killing her is creepy, but now i think the "Error" one is much creepier.
i love the part where flowey says Error!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!1!1!1!1!!1!1!1!1!
I remember someone saying that flowey is a metaphor for the player
Lore of All Flowey Dialogue After Ruins | Undertale momentum 100
Isn’t there a dialogue where you keep sparing Toriel then when she stops attacking you, you just kill her instantly than flowery gives you a different piece of dialogue?
“That’s a wonderful idea!”

Funny enough I almost did a clean Pacifist run, reset and did Genocide in ruins just to see if Flowey would recognize them as Chara, then I did a reset AGAIN, to see if I can do a Pacifist run after Flowey already sees Frisk as Chara before the True Lab!
That's not all of them, you can also get a different one by betrayal killing Toriel.
"My plan isn't regicide.". Kills Asgore right after you spare him.
I wanna know what happens if you kill everybody. But you don't get the but nobody came screen because you didn't kill everybody in the area. You've just killed everybody you seen
You: *skip Toriel*
Flowey: Hiya, pal! Wanna hear my impression of a Geiger counter?
(never played Undertale lol)
he says howdy
Flowey:
😃 Error
People really dont get that flowey criticizing you for killing is just him trolling you and saying youre just like him.
i know another one. So basically, undyne the undying was too hard for me, so i reset, and then Flowey said, "Really [Player Name]?"
"Really Chara? You just gave up on your mission to complete this genocide you were aiming for?
‘ERROR’ is really funny
i like how you named yourself name as a symbol of what you pick
all judgements
flowey after ruins
undyne after waterfall
sans during judgement hall
most spared monsters after photoshop flowey has been beaten
I never knew the last two
I named myself “gay” so flowey said “you’re gay, huh?”
So Many Differences…

Why is this UA-camr so underrated???

1:57 I thought Flowery knew about the reset button?
6:11 ERROR
You forgot about sparing toriel on genocide
Thats basically sparing toriel w/ exp
I’ve seen all of the flowey diploid on the video.

I like this video

This is legit stuff
What Happens If You Spare Every Monster In Ruins But Kill Toriel?
That's killing toriel without exp
It’ll be the same as killing her on a non-Genocide run.
1:42:51 AYO 💀💀💀💀
:D Error
WAIT YOU CAN SPARE TORIEL
DUDE ARE YOU KILLING EVERYONE IN THAT GMAE
@@realknightmelonmpg No, just toriel
Well it's a bit too late now @@do_t
I killed and then spared toriel
Killed one whimsum and bros acting like I killed everybody in the ruins
Cool
Bro flowey can be a bit harsh
I remember when I first bought the game I thought I had bought a fake version when Flowey's face didn't expand.
Why does Flowey glitch at the final one?
Because you can't normally skip Toriel
Hm
Idk why flowey laughs all time when you kill her.
Skipping Toriel Idea-
"Wow... Just wow.
You couldn't handle having to fight her. You were afraid what will happen.
So you straight up changed the world by any means to avoid the conflict against the tutorial boss.
Golly, I can't tell if you are a dirty cheater who believe they can get away with anything without any consequences...
OR IF YOU'RE JUST A COWARD!" *Laugh*
