I see it more as the continuity of Clover's memories. If Flowey forced a SAVE that Clover doesn't remember asking for, they would get disoriented or suspicious. This might have consequences Flowey has experienced firsthand and is trying not to repeat.
I'm disappointed that they didn't make a 4th wall break with this, making Flowey slowly realize that you must have had some prior experience to beat the game with no deaths. But hey, at least they acknowledge the fact that you don't save.

Only when Chara get more power through LOVE, they can act however they want from their own volition and freely talk (Clover does the same). Even so, Flowey should've at least got suspicious from how Clover manages to dodge death so easily.

I think that makes a lot of sense considering what flowey says in geno at new home. He initially started out trying to help everyone until he eventually did everything perfectly and got bored

Heres what I dont get about this: Flowey complains to you about you not saving during your run. From a gameplay standpoint, this makes sense, But lorewise, Clover isn't saving. Flowey is. It's not like Clover not telling him to save makes him physically unable to. He could just do it himself. Lorewise, anyway.
From what I can tell, its like how frisk and flowey work in undertale, but reversed, when Clover dies, flowey LOADS his save rather than resets it, undertale showed that a "true" reset can affect characters that have less determination then the user itself, clover has far less determination than flowey or frisk, so them being able to remember a load but not a save makes sense, they arent strong enough to do so. As for flowey not just saving on his own, its because he wants to earn your trust, his plan has to do with the fact that clover trusts him enough to get to asgore and use them as a distraction to steal the souls, in order to do that he has to be "friendly", his neutral run boss fight reveals how absolutely venomous he is.
Flowey doesn’t actually want Clover to save. What he wants is for Clover to trust him. Saving is just a representation of trust. He sees Clover not saving as Clover refusing to trust him, meaning he cant manipulate Clover.
Because flowey wants you to trust him first, thats why, if flowey was like "hey buddy i have just saved for you rn without your conscent mk?" it would sound very suspicious no?
I mean, it still KINDA does like "this could've been us!" In a mocking sarcastic way. Or, y'know, it still serves it’s purpose of just being surreal and creepy

@@Jevil-GunI don’t think there are any differences in Pacifist post Dunes. Flowey takes a backseat until Ceroba’s house where he just tells you to continue on your path to defeat Ceroba as usual. In Geno, when you leave the Ruins Flowey will ask whether you refuse to Save because of his threat when you reach LVL 3 during Geno.
I completed a genocide no save run (yes, Ceroba included). There's no dialogue about not saving except when you arrive in Dunes. Seems like this only happens in Neutral.

Technically for a speedrunner it would be faster to save after Ava crashed since not saving gives flowey tons of new dialogue

When I did the genocide route whit no saving I lost to the Vampire Boy (I know laughable) but I Learn the game let you restart the boss fight.
