Current River is My absolute favorite-From Tan Vat to Akers Ferry is heaven (when you’re there off season on a weekday). Rainbows and Brownies abound
A few decades back, when I was in the Boy Scouts, we used to call your dinner creation "silver turtles" because we twisted the corners. When you are really hungry they are awesome!

You have improved greatly at casting that flyrod in the time since I joined this channel a few years ago. I'm so happy for you when you succeed on it, someday you'll get so good at fishing the flies that your spinning rods will not be needed for trout streams :)

A brown trout is lovely fish to cook and eat, grill it with mushroom and bacon stuffing
I quite enjoyed the brown trout and the river adventure.

One of the best MO rivers! You must've gone during the week. Try fishing at night next time, that's when the big browns are feeding the most.

What fun. 3 days of fishing on a really beautiful river. Years ago I used to catch some really big browns in small high mountain lakes in northeastern Arizona, but never on a fly rod. Looks like your skills in all areas- fly fishing, video production and plain perseverance- are growing better and better. It’s also fun to see an episode with friends! Thanks for the fun.

The black and gold Panther Martin is one of my favorite lures here in Pennsylvania. It has caught me many of fish of a variety of species.

Awesome video. You brought back some awesome memories. 3 friends and I went on a 3 day 2 night trip on a river in Texas. On a last minute idea we decided to do a river trip. Some good times it was, fishing for big yellow cats, sleeping under the stars and 5 log jams we had to cross over. Good times and great memories. Be Safe Brother.
Awesome camp out . Monster browns , one on the ultra lite , one on the fly . Good friends , good food by the fire . Used to do a lot of camping in my younger days , sure do miss that ! Looked like good times were had by all , truly epic adventure 👍👍

Excellent Brown trout Nick! Just so you know I was a born and raised Bait dunker and Although I can handle my fly rod setup pretty good, I have yet to land a fish with it. so You are way ahead of me. I have had a lot of bites on the thing but never able to land a trout with it, they are just so smart here in the Eastern slopes of the Rockies. Here we have every kind of Trout imaginable. Rainbow, Brookies, Browns, Cutthroat, Bull, Golden and Lake Trout. Plus a bunch more that are all a blast to catch, and the main river in The Southern Part of my Province, Alberta is the Bow River with World Class Trout fishing that many fly into Calgary to meet up with Drift boat Guides that will take you to the best spots. And there are some MONSTER Rainbows in our waterways. I caught a 5 lbs. Cutthroat trout out of the Bow River inside of the city limits and a 6 lbs. rainbow in one of its tributaries. We have Loads of Trout and in the Deep Mountain lakes there are some Monster Lake trout I have heard of Lake trout as big as 52lbs. in Lake Minnewanka, which is a small mountain lake but stupid deep. If you travel North of Alberta into the Northwest territories Slave Lake has larger lake trout at a record of 65 lbs. but the Great Bear Lake is a definite Bucket list destination for Fishermen, the Largest Lake trout ever caught in the World was caught in the great bear lake and weighed in at a massive 79 pounds! But it is still not the biggest Trout ever caught in that lake, Dene Fishermen (a native tribe) netted a 90 pound behemoth Lake Trout but the 79 pounder holds the record for the largest caught on a line and the teenager who caught it released it shortly after taking it's measurements. The Great Bear Lake is as large as Vancouver Island is over 31,000 spare Kilometers and holds enough crystal blue water for All of Canadian Houshold needs for 500 years!

I've watched all of these adventures, and I think you should bring your fly rod more on the kayak. When i last fly fished in my kayak, caught a near wisconsin state record bluegill on a popper. Love the vids. You need to try fly fishing on ponds.

You looked good catching that brown on the fly. You picked a nice slower slightly deeper section with overhanging branches and that fish was waiting for a bug to land in the water. Nice job. Your casting needs some improvement, it looks like you get many tangles from how the line curves through the air. It is a big U shape rather than an O shape.
When you cast you want to be stopping your arm at 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock with a straight wrist and arm. And with your false casts you want to do as few as possible to prevent tangles and spooking the fish.
