Thanks so much! We try our best to be objective. Sometimes we succeed and sometimes our bias might sneak through a little but we truly feel we offer the best free standing bag on the market! And the best workout subscription!
Had a hanging bag in my basement. Came upstairs and thought the house had been trashed! On the floor were broken ornaments, smashed plant-pots, earth, broken glass, knocked-over standing lamps, pictures fallen off the walls . The floor must have been bouncing like a trampoline! That said, I loved the movement, the feel and the flow of a hanging bag as it swings and moves with the blows... But practically, its a gonna have to be a free standing bag in the garden from now on!
I like how in depth you went into the downsides of each rather than just brushing over them in favour of the selling points. It's lead me to the conclusion that neither are practical for my current home, so you've saved me a lot of money, time and effort in buying and seeing one up only to want to return it afterwards. Sorry that you've not made a sale to me, but I'd really like to thank you for your honesty and professionalism in your experience and opinion. 🙂
There’s a gym i go to and they have a heavy bag set up like yours on the girder (beam) but it’s on a runner. You can hit the bag and it’ll move away from you. It’s great for working on distance and chasing a moving target. It has a stop at either end so it mimics forcing your opponent on the ropes or into a corner
One thing I like about a hanging bag too is the lack of the base allows you to really move in close with your footwork. With the freestanding bag you might not be able to get as close as you want because of the base.
I can’t stand hanging heavy bags unless they’re the huge massive ones that touch the ground & stay put when you hit them. From my martial arts experience, a standing one is SO much better. You can do so many drills with them, move & set them up any way you want. My former instructor would even make obstacle courses out of them. We’d take the tops off & use both the tops & base for various drills. Sadly not a lot of martial artists & even the instructors know how to properly utilize a standing bag.
Martial arts and boxing aren't comparable. I much prefer a hanging bag because I'm a boxer but I can't imagine throwing kicks at it. For most - if not all - martial arts, the freestanding bag just has to be better.
Thank you so much for making ur review not too long or not too short. Gave me the perfect amount of information without any unnecessary crap. Great video man it was very helpful
I only like the hanging bag because it moves with the shot but a freestanding bag has its advantages you can land better shots without somewhat missing the target
I've worked out on traditional heavy bags ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxp9-sf95nqfjey-uyzxUzQ7m9MXRPK1BE a spherical stuffed "wrecking ball" bag, and now this thing. What I like about it is that it has the heft to stay largely in place so I'm not chasing it around. It's tall enough to allow for headshots and body shots, but it's short enough to give an uppercut somewhere to land. I'm very happy so far. Filling it was a bit of a cluster. For top-offs, I've learned that you can screw the supplied nozzle onto any basic plastic water bottle. I can't speak to durability as I've only had it a week.
The hassle of setting one up and the space requirements are the main reasons I don't own a hanging bag or a free-standing bag. Instead, I just bought a pair of focus mitts. The main problem with those is that you need a training partner, and they can be hard to come by. But if you have a friend or a family member who is willing to train with you, focus mitts are the best at-home option, in my opinion. Otherwise, I am limited to shadowboxing.
Since I'm 80, my kicks aren't very high. You are correct about hitting low on a hanging bag. Much hard, much pain. So I liked the Fight Camp free standing bag - until I saw the PRICE $ 450. Are you kidding me? I'll keep looking.
great video, this is exactly what I am thinking about, hanging VS standing which one is better for home, after reviewing this video I made the desision to get my first fight camp bag for home training, thanks alot👍👍
I have both. I like hanging bags the best. As for the freestanding bags, I have a Century bag and a Ringside. The Ringsides have a spring operated base that provides movement to the bag. But be careful you don't hit the bag on the rebound movement. You can sprain your wrist.
But hanging bags they are difficult to fill and they make a lot of noise but free standing punch bag he said that will make soo much noise when knocked down i will just find the best one in the shop another Cons is that setup thats okay i am going to buy the filled one
4:04 i have the same one at home and you put it super where it is not properly put in and if you say that it is bad that it does not go that high if you base it on his height you would kick the chains of the hanging bag if you kicked at the same height.
If the hanging bag isn’t in a basement but in something like a garage that doesn’t have anything above it does it still cause as many noise and vibration problems?
I don't own a portable hanging bag rack but every time I consider buying one I end up changing my mind when I see the bases thinking "I would totally end up destroying my toes on that thing".. but i guess if you stand still and just punch they may be great
What does hitting the standing bag feel like tho compared to the hanging bag? Does it have that same resistance that's going to increase shoulder endurance and leg strength?
I had a hanging punching bag for a month n it ripped cuz rope that holds tha bag rip cuz tha bag jumps up n down when I punch it I get really frustrated that I don’t have my hanging bag last cuz it was helping me gain confidence in fighting in case sum1 wants to try to fight me in public I have a standing bag but my punches aren’t strong enough I think cuz it’s short idk if I should keep punching my standing bag
Thanks for the video. Very informative and straight to the point. This helped me decide what to get. My son has been asking for a punching bag for weeks and I think I now know which one.
The hanging bag being too noisy is so relatable, i remember getting scolded by my mom bcs she had guests over while i was in the middle of doing a drill😂

The bag part of the boxing stand must be at least 40 kg or the same quality normal heavybag.....Most boxing stands are too soft and there is no feeling of punching...Of course, most of us at home cannot arrive too hard because of the noise, but you still need to feel that feeling even if you hit soft...otherwise we will shadow box or BOB...BOB just like man at least and Improves punch accuracy because of it shape chin, liver etc...
Hanging is always better, it's MOVE, you have to plan + chase it to execute the technique, standing bag make punching feel good and relax, that's a big no no
You can but it's not as sturdy to hit when you do. You can try it and see if it works for you because its easy to dump out the water. We highly recommend sand.
I'm thinking of getting the RDX KT RONIN 6FT 2-IN-1 FREE STANDING PUNCH BAG. I have a nice century 80lbs hanging bag, and a Title stand. Even with sand bags, the stand moves allot. It is also not tall enough, so the bag doesn't swing right. If you were like 5' foot tall, it be okay. I am not going to hang it in the garage because I don't want it messing up the house.
