- Monza Circuit was chosen as the final stage of the 2019 Pagani Raduno/Tour and this has been the perfect opportunity to unleash some of the Pagani track-only beasts on the Italian circuit.
There were three Zonda' of the "R" family, in particular a "standard" Zonda R, one of the five Zonda Revolución and a Zonda R Evo, which is basically a Zonda R with the same aero upgrades of the Zonda Revolución.
Enjoy the insane melody coming from the Mercedes-AMG M120 6.0-litre V12 engine!

One of the best sounding V12'S on the planet. Almost sounds like an old F1 motor.
i think if the rpm would go beyond its 8000, it would sound like a old F1, its hiding in there
It's the 6 liter v12 derived from the M-B Clk Gtr
Do not forget it is a Mercedes engine.

If you didn't know, there are only 15 IN THE WORLD. 4 of them were made into the Revolución and 2 are believed to be in Pagani's collection, so that leaves 9 regular cars. This is a very rare vehicle.

@@RizLazey Nah, not quite. F1 sounds terrible, kinda like a drone lawnmower. Formula E sounds kinda like an RC and a vacuum cleaner.
Neither sound great but it's where we are.
Ironically they're both AMG engines.

6:49 - Imagine you decide since it's a nice afternoon, to go for a bike ride. And your bike path happens to be in the infield at MONZA!
This is a perfect description of Monza. If you want to visit the track, you have to go through a nice park where people walk and ride bicycle. After you entered that park, then turn left to find a gate saying "Autodromo di Monza". The track isn't well indicated when you're coming from the Turin-Milan Motorway so it's a bit unexpected to find a legendary racetrack just outside Milan. But it does also make it so special. Great track to visit ! And for free !
I love hearing birds happily chirping like a nice nature scene in between the v12 sounds

@@IJMacfarlane It is. It is actually huge and always a pleasure to visit.
At 3:53 the Pagani was going really slow and wasn't even revving too high so it actually was pretty quiet, but you can still hear it over other cars like the AMG that was going behind it at full speed and you couldn't even hear it. It just gives a little perspective on how actually loud this thing is!

hahah I never leave home without that mic. Only problem is I have to evaluate when I'm there if I can use it or not for many many reasons. The day I'll find again some incentives to do vlogs on my second channel, well I'll for sure explain better and everything about my binaural mic, problems, limitations etc ;)

Yes of course you can still go up there ;) I was there for the final parade at the end of this Pagani event. During some importat event like the Italian GP or Blancpain GT Series you'll find a guy from the security to avoid people to climb up there, but for a "normal" track day, test day or Ferrari F1 Clienti event there's nobody there!

In terms of contemporary V12s, this and the Ferrari 599 XX have the best V12 sound.
I think you can add the FXX range and Novitec 812 to that list too
And Murcielagos and Aventadors with Star Dropper Exhausts
We’ll see when the Valkyrie and the Apollo IE with its straight-piped Ferrari engine come out

The Huayra R sounds great for sure, but this Zonda is still king. The perfect bridge between past and present. Throaty, and raw, but steady at the same time. Smooth. It's the perfect sound dude.

Wouldn't it be great to see a racing series featuring all the track-only specials of hypercars...? Zonda R, LaFerrari Fxxk, Mclaren P1 GTR, Aston Martin Vulcan etc etc...

The brabham 62 will be in the hypercar class the Glickenhaus car the valkyrie for sure. should be a bunch more. The senna gtr is expected to be another. There is talk ford is working on a new hypercar for the class don't know about that

Ah, the sound through the woods around 2 minutes in is a symphony to me.
The fact that the Porsche GT2 RS MR is 7 seconds faster than this around the Nordschleife is just absurd to think. I definitely wouldn't expect that
really? i wouldn't expect that either. But Porsche is a real race car company, and in addition they're always obsessed with Nordscheife times (as it they regard it as their home turf), so I expect Porsche test a lot around the Ring and thus go faster than most based on testing opportunities and data collected thru the years. Pagani wont ever going to have the development budget like Porsche. Those Porsche guys know how to go fast with a turbo V6 though.
Indeed that's true Porsche does test a lot. The RS MR lapped 6.40 while the Zonda R lapped 6.47 in 2009 I believe. It was the fastest producten but non road legal car (or sth along those lines) to date back then. The already extremely quick but stock GT2 RS did a 6.47 but Manthey Racing went all out.

This used to be my absolute favourite sound UNTIL I saw the video of the Hillclimb BMW 1-series armed with a Judd V8. Simply spectacular - I nearly choked on the doughnut I was eating. A fantastic as this car sounds, I so wish Pagani had used a Judd engine. When a company makes a V8 that out-sounds a V12, then you know they understand the dark arts of engine tuning ...

Thanks for your comment mate! Honestly no, I wasn't wearing any earplugs that day... But I often use them when there are too many loud cars on track (like for the ELMS)
