Crazy how much safety has improved over the years. You could see alonso actually hurt himself in that 2003 crash and the remains of the car looked pretty scary. Zhou’s, bottas - Russell and even hulkenburg’s crashes looked far worse and yet they walked away relatively unscathed.
You can't compare it, Zhou, Bottas, Russel and Hülkenberg had a loooong way to go until the car stopped (Hülkenberg wasn't fast anyways), while Alonso came with about 300km/h to a very sudden stop. Just look how hard he still hits the concrete barrier on the last impact, no wonder he was limping after that one.
That was disgusting from Russel, honestly...it was an accident. Valterri wasnt even out of the car and George is over there slapping him on the helmet. That kind of toxicity is why he's the perfect fit for Mercedes.

Every time I see Checo’s crash, I remember how blessed we are that we’ve seen him for seasons and seasons from then, and how blessed he is to be an F1 veteran (and that he’s known as Checo and not the rookie who had that big shunt in Monaco qualifying). I was genuinely concerned for his life after seeing that live on TV. I had also stopped watching shortly after that because I could no longer bear witnessing Ferrari lose. So, seeing him now, alive and well, and well past that incident, and a Monaco GP winner at that, is so nice when you factor that in
I think Singapore was more dramatic, (especially since it was live on board when he crashed) but I still think Mugello 2020 was bigger for Lance.
