Love this discussion on in-office treatments. Some of us have built a solid skincare routine and would like to take it up a notch. And at the end of the day, skincare is extremely important (especially sunscreen and prescription tretinoin) but cleansers, moisturizers and even serums cannot do what in-office chemical peels, injections and lasers can do. A lot of the hefty promises listed on a store-bought moisturizer cannot be fulfilled; those are things lasers do etc. I’ve always thought if you had to choose between a $200 serum or a $200 chemical peel treatment, to pick the in-office treatment.

Such great points!! I tend to try and point out to brands when their promises on the labels are unrealistic and will call them out on it too. Everything has its limitations like you said 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Because of educational videos such as these, I started my skincare and anti aging routine with budget friendly products typically under $30 and in one year my skin has improved drastically! I have gotten so many compliments that my skins looks glowing and smooth! I must say that I started using Differin (Adapalene) for eight months and then made the switched to Tretonin which is the only product that is expensive (one tube last me five months). However, I still use Differin but mainly on my neck area now. I am very happy with my result. I thank you for your educational videos on skincare and I appreciate that you do not push products just for the sake of selling them.
I feel your product recommendations are based on not only on the ingredients but your honest and professional opinions. Thank you!

The most unexpected side effect I noticed when I first started applying a retinol, that nobody ever talks about, came from being outside, in the winter time, after dark on my evening and early morning dog walks. I know 20 or 30 degrees is cold but to my face the air felt REALLY cold, noticeably colder than I had ever noticed it b4 starting a retinol. I bundle up so the only things exposed are my nose and eyes and I wonder, are cold temperatures that harmful?

Why aren't there oral retinoid options for collagen production/skin revision? I know Accutane has gotten a pretty bad rep, but it had a profound benefit for me in my teens. EDIT: There's a pretty cool pubmed article supporting the efficacy of oral isotret in photoaging in older female patients. None of color, unfortunately.

Hi Dr., for the last 6 months I went through extreme acute stress. My skin has lost elasticity, volume, my hair has thinned, and I have seen sagging where there was none months ago. Some of his has now began to resolve since the stress has decreased. I take very good care of my skin but I am concerned it’ll never return to its baseline state. Can it and will it? Thank you.

Let's not forget the inexpensive at-home treatments and supplements that do also work and SAVE ALOT of money. Collagen supplementation, Hyularonic acid and Vit C sups, Reversotral. Tretinoin, Microneedling, Microcurrent, Radio Frequency, EMS. Oral lift device can naturally make the face fuller and more symmetric too.

@@2107ssr you are right!! Thanks for making me aware of this. I wanted to make a video on how to titrate up on the strength of your retinoid and this is helpful. I would say that if you are beginner, 0.1% is still fine to start off with and then work your way up to 0.3 to 1%. Then consider Retinaldehyde or prescription retinoids like tretinoin thereafter. Thanks for letting me know about the percentage!🙏🏼🤙

Can't stand the look of lip fillers. On anyone. Looks obvious and gives your face a weird expression. Why do people think sausage lips are flattering. And there's always a tell-tale white line above your lip.

I get lip fillers once a year and it’s very natural looking. They are fuller at the beginning and then start to go down eventually because of lip/mouth usage. I like lip filler because it helps the lips look less deflated/prunish because of aging.

Ima sorry lets cut the crap. You can achieve an improvement in the skin texture, some of the skin glow and radiance and slow time though rigorous spf use. Any other claims of skin care bringing very visible anti ageing results is at the very least laughable
