Love this discussion on in-office treatments. Some of us have built a solid skincare routine and would like to take it up a notch. And at the end of the day, skincare is extremely important (especially sunscreen and prescription tretinoin) but cleansers, moisturizers and even serums cannot do what in-office chemical peels, injections and lasers can do. A lot of the hefty promises listed on a store-bought moisturizer cannot be fulfilled; those are things lasers do etc. I’ve always thought if you had to choose between a $200 serum or a $200 chemical peel treatment, to pick the in-office treatment.
Such great points!! I tend to try and point out to brands when their promises on the labels are unrealistic and will call them out on it too. Everything has its limitations like you said 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
So grateful to you Dr. Sugai for taking time to educate us, giving important tips and helping us to understand the uses of different procedures and products.
This was wonderful! Thank you for such a thorough look at the various options and for the deep dive into Botox placement. And look at you! From 100k to now 114k practically overnight. Your channel is catching on big!
Because of educational videos such as these, I started my skincare and anti aging routine with budget friendly products typically under $30 and in one year my skin has improved drastically! I have gotten so many compliments that my skins looks glowing and smooth! I must say that I started using Differin (Adapalene) for eight months and then made the switched to Tretonin which is the only product that is expensive (one tube last me five months). However, I still use Differin but mainly on my neck area now. I am very happy with my result. I thank you for your educational videos on skincare and I appreciate that you do not push products just for the sake of selling them. I feel your product recommendations are based on not only on the ingredients but your honest and professional opinions. Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing this video. It was so informative. I took notes and I’m going to apply this process beginning tomorrow. Thank you so much.
The most unexpected side effect I noticed when I first started applying a retinol, that nobody ever talks about, came from being outside, in the winter time, after dark on my evening and early morning dog walks. I know 20 or 30 degrees is cold but to my face the air felt REALLY cold, noticeably colder than I had ever noticed it b4 starting a retinol. I bundle up so the only things exposed are my nose and eyes and I wonder, are cold temperatures that harmful?
I’ve been applying sunscreen every morning since 25 yrs old and live in Texas. I don’t reapply but plan to start. In 3 months, I’ll be 45. I pretty decent skin. Bet I would have better skin if I had reapplied sunscreen for the afternoon drive home from work.
Why aren't there oral retinoid options for collagen production/skin revision? I know Accutane has gotten a pretty bad rep, but it had a profound benefit for me in my teens. EDIT: There's a pretty cool pubmed article supporting the efficacy of oral isotret in photoaging in older female patients. None of color, unfortunately.
Hi Dr., for the last 6 months I went through extreme acute stress. My skin has lost elasticity, volume, my hair has thinned, and I have seen sagging where there was none months ago. Some of his has now began to resolve since the stress has decreased. I take very good care of my skin but I am concerned it’ll never return to its baseline state. Can it and will it? Thank you.
Hi Dr Sugai, I am from Perth Western Australia. I am a new subscriber, love you videos!!!!! Can you tell me what I can do about puffines under eyes. It is really getting me down. I think twice about going out at times. Can you recommend anything I can do. Plus what eye creams do you recommend please. I greatly appreciate your advice 😊
Thank you very much for all the information, very beneficial and timely for me. What would you recommend for deep lines between the eyebrows? I do botox doesn't help. These make me look angry. Would appreciate very much your response!
Thank you for watching! Hyaluronic acid serum and moisturizer and retinoid could help but if it’s very deep, May need resurfacing laser or RF microneedling. No filler there!
Hi there Dr. Sugai, I was wondering if you could help me...I'm in my late 40's and a fair few wrinkles are starting to appear and I was wondering if you had an opinion on The Inkey List's Polyglutamic Acid Serum and if this is indeed better than Hyaluronic Acid?...and also The Ordinary's Matrixyl and Argireline to prevent wrinkles please? Many thanks in advance
Could u share your opinions on procedures SaltFacial, Aerolase laser, SolWave? Also curious about EZgel filler for nasolabial folds along with Revision Skincare Revox Line Relaxer that’s being marketed as better than Botox. Both are mentioned in another YT derm/cosmetic surgeon channel. I would be very interested in your opinion them all.
OTC's or drugstore skincare products are great for me. I use Panoxyl for face wash, a light moisturizing sunscreen for day and at night the same but w/o sunscreen. There is too much stuff out there. Keeping simple and basic is key. Cool vid. Ty doc.
Let's not forget the inexpensive at-home treatments and supplements that do also work and SAVE ALOT of money. Collagen supplementation, Hyularonic acid and Vit C sups, Reversotral. Tretinoin, Microneedling, Microcurrent, Radio Frequency, EMS. Oral lift device can naturally make the face fuller and more symmetric too.
Can you comment on what procedures can be done when post oral Tretinoin? For example, how long after the last dose can you get micro needling, peels, or cosmetic procedures like micro blading done? Thanks so much xx
You always say that you recommend retinol in the 0.25% strength or higher. However, the Kiehls microdose serum is at 0.1%. Do you have any thoughts/suggestions on retinol microdosing?
@@2107ssr you are right!! Thanks for making me aware of this. I wanted to make a video on how to titrate up on the strength of your retinoid and this is helpful. I would say that if you are beginner, 0.1% is still fine to start off with and then work your way up to 0.3 to 1%. Then consider Retinaldehyde or prescription retinoids like tretinoin thereafter. Thanks for letting me know about the percentage!🙏🏼🤙
@@danielsugaimd Thanks for that info! I had been wondering what the strategy or game plan is with the different retinoid strengths. I bet a lot of people would be interested in that video on titrating up!
Hi doc... i feel so insecure of my melasma. I got this when i gave birth ang used contraceptives. And during those younger yrs i am not aware of the importance of sunscreen. Now im suffering of insecurities because of melasma
Hey Dr my face is more darker than my body 😓😓 .. my body looks brighter but mt face looks so darker I’m using a sunscreen but it never worked for me getting darker and darker
hi, i tried using vitamin c serum last year, but it left bumps on my face that later turned into a rash and it didn't seem to do anything for the spots. it was from the ordinary band, does tat mean i shouldn't use vitamin c?
Hi I wanted to know what cleanser I can use for pimple I only use my SA renewing cleanser and I have been seeing that nothing has been improving am I doing something wrong or do I not have a correct skincare or cleanser?
You mention that we can use retinaldehyde, would you recommend youth to the people retinaldehyde, it's newer to their line, I have used maelove moonlight but didn't love it..thx.
I have a fuller face. which needs more filler..I went for dermal filler and received Restylane Lyft..would this be the best solution for a fuller face like mine?..
I’ve seen a couple of videos using a tape on their forehead leaving it overnight and the result is like similar to botox or the lines on their forehead was reduced. I’m not sure about it but I’m thinking of trying it out. Could you please check on it? It is something interesting and I’m really curious about it.
My understanding of medical-grade is that it only pertains to prescriptions provided by a doctor. Everything else is just luxury skincare and marketing.
I feel young women in their 20s they should t not get these procedures they are to young and they don’t have to worry about it this is what Our society has done
Can't stand the look of lip fillers. On anyone. Looks obvious and gives your face a weird expression. Why do people think sausage lips are flattering. And there's always a tell-tale white line above your lip.
I get lip fillers once a year and it’s very natural looking. They are fuller at the beginning and then start to go down eventually because of lip/mouth usage. I like lip filler because it helps the lips look less deflated/prunish because of aging.
Ima sorry lets cut the crap. You can achieve an improvement in the skin texture, some of the skin glow and radiance and slow time though rigorous spf use. Any other claims of skin care bringing very visible anti ageing results is at the very least laughable

Had been following yur channel and Envy your changing glowing complexion 😘

Dr Sugai: please let us know what products we should use to re establish the skin barrier after undergoing dermaplane.

It’s a new level of discomfort when it comes to filler but topical numbing can be a godsend 👍. Botox is a walk in the park!

What are your thoughts on ZO skin care products?
Hi Doc, can adapalene and tretinoin be alternated every other night for maximum acne and aging treatment?

Hi Doc, do you have any videos or advice on skin care for erythematotelangiectatic rosacea?
I very rarely see anyone talk about Clinique skincare. Just wondering your opinion on Clinique because it’s been around for years

How did you find out the percentage of their retinol? I didn’t know that they disclosed it anywhere
It seems YT deleted my reply. The retinol percentage is listed on the product page at Sephora.

Is differin a good reninoid for anti aging??
Do you have a recommendation for eye makeup remover for maturing skin?

You should try lip tattoo neutralization. The more procedures that you do, the pinker your lips can get.

What is your recommendation for a contact dermatitis prone face? Because retinol tends to irritate it
Hi, dr dray's video on short contact therapy might be useful
I’m currently on oratane. Any advice?
To wash the face, Do you have to use a sonic Facial Cleaning Tool or just use a facial towel.
Fingertips to spread cleanser, rinse and then Pat dry with a clean towel! I don’t care do devices for cleansing!
Does frequency treatment works ?
can you use a retinoid in the Same routine with copper peptides?
Yes

Doesn't work. If it did, we'd all do it. Botox is amazing
Do you have a recommendation for a dermatologist in the San Diego North County area?
Dr Arisa Ortiz is great 👍
Do you recommend any dermatologist in Orange County, CA
