The even more impressive thing about the Mariners home run is that the prediction wasn't made *during* the game. It was made in the pregame show. And let's run down just what he called: 1. He knew the Blue Jays' starter would still be in come the fifth inning. 2. He knew what at-bat it would happen during. 3. He knew what the count would be. 4. He knew what pitch would be thrown on that count. 5. He knew which direction the shot would go. 6. He knew how high up the shot would go. (Rogers Centre is a strange field, strange enough that it threw off even Dave Niehaus, the [sadly late] Mariners announcer. In left centre, because the bullpens are directly below it, the first deck isn't there, so what is actually the second deck appears to be the first.) 7. He *didn't* know what row it would land in, and refused to take a guess. Since the ball hit off the front of the second deck, he got this right too!

Hearing Skip Caray calling that double play brings back memories of my youth watching Braves baseball on TBS Superstation in Western Pennsylvania, when the Pirates were winning those NL East titles.
You gotta remember, a lot of these announcers were once players themselves or just really hardcore fans of the sport and are able to read an offense by their formation. during certain moments in the game, a certain kind of play is ideal for every situation. For example, If the team has been running the ball a lot and the last play was a run for a first down, the offense might run a play action which is a play that looks like a fake run by is actually a pass play. Its not hard to read a play as its happening and a lot of these announcers are phenomenal at being able to break down a play, which is why they got the job in the first place of course...

5:20 more impressed by the fact they predicted the pandemic, batter has a mask and nobody is in the stands
😂 🤣 Underrated comment right here
*Lmao!*
Batter looks like he's about to Raid Someone's house because they have weed for their Arthritis.
@@sighduck9789 I'm offended by this hate on BLM liberators
@CYRUSZ Datvirusz Lighten up, Francis.
The Tony Romo calls are impressive for a different reason because it’s actually based off of him understanding the game so well. For plays, situation, coaching, what weapons the teams have available, etc. It all factors into what plays will be called next.
9:06 was also crazy knowing it was a curve and knowing he would hit it in the bullpen
that second clip had me rolling😂😂 dude was TOO specific and called it lmaooo
2:31-2:36: "THERE IT IS!! OH MY GOODNESS!! OH NO!!" Another HR prediction came TRUE at a Seattle Mariners game.
That 2nd clip was just insane 😂
Romo: "$5 its a run to the left"
"Derrick henry runs to the left"
Announcer: "I gotta pay now as its henry"
@El Mateo they can tell what play it is by looking at the OFFENSIVE FORMATION, but you're not wrong about the "NFL IS RIGGED" part. 👍
@El Mateo First off who says "sToOge" anymore
Secondly I can tell what some plays are by offensive coordination. The likes on both my comments mean ppl agree with me, the zero likes on ur comment means nobody agrees with u.
@El Mateo also all i was saying was what the commentator said, THAT'S IT
@El Mateo First off wdym you people, secondly You believe everything you see off the internet don't you
@El Mateo why the hell would tony romo give up being the highest paid nfl analyst ever to just be a defensive coordinator lmao
I love the ones where there like “it’s his day, it’s going to the best receiver in the clutch moment”
“Oh my god he threw it to the best receiver I’m a psychic”
this is going to be recommended to everyone in 5 years.
Forreal
Wait, is that a...prediction?
How about now
Sorry bud but it’s being recommended to everyone now
I got it recommended to me
The Mariners may be a shitty organization, but they have wizards as commentators

Tony Romo literally a fortune teller in the booth.
The one thing I’ve missed on my bucket list is getting an entire crowd to boo after making a great play.

Tony Romo has been really good at it, he’s been SPOT. ON.

@El Mateo don't do drugs kids
@El Mateo I'll stop crying when you change your shitty diaper
@El Mateo This is the most retarded thing I've ever read
@El Mateo You've been spamming the same comment and have been referring to people as "stooges" anytime they choose to disregard your idiotic claim that the NFL delays their game tapes for "entertainment" lmao. Look after yourself Sir. Don't do drugs, they're bad for you
@El Mateo When you Google the definition of spam, this is what you get: "Send the same message indiscriminately to (large numbers of recipients) on the Internet." What you are doing is definitely considered spam. Go outside. See the world. Get some exercise. Anything is better than whatever agenda you're trying to accomplish right now.

That first hr call, both the prediction and play by play, were amazing!
You HAVE to follow it up with announcers jinxing the players
you missed a classic announcer prediction: The winning hit in game 7 of the 2001 WS was described by the announcer moments before it happened.
I was thinking that it better be on here
Personally, glad it isn't. I can't relive that crap
@@braydenbrewer2122 Agreed. As a Yankee fan, that memory is too painful, lol.
Yeah rooting for the Yanks during that era, that was a tough game to take
These make me smile genuinely knowledgeable people in their respective sports just simply knowing the game and having “feel”
Basically tony romo’s announcing highlights
El Mateo do u have problems
Have u ever been to an nfl game el mateo
El Mateo you’re just not smart dude it’s so much easier for an NFL QB who made his CAREER on reading defenses and calling plays to make a prediction every once and a while than it is to be on the sideline calling plays. I’ve watched games with big nfl fans who can do some similar things. It’s just impressive, there’s no evidence they are on a delay. In fact they are not on a delay at all, they always react on time without fault. So stop being a fucking dumbass cause I saw a whole different chain with you spewing out your conspiracy bullshit that just is 100% false
@El Mateo haha you never did
@El Mateo NO IT IS NOT. it is absolutely pathetic you believe such nonsense
Romo is so great on commentary specifically for stuff like this. He makes it educational and entertaining.
That Mariner's announcer was a time traveler seeing how much he could get away with telling
That 6-4-3 call was amazing
what exactly is 6 4 3?
@@Alex-Ander517 I believe it’s a shortstop (6) to second base (4) to first base (3) double play. The fielding positions in baseball are numbered.
Hearing Skip Caray calling that double play brings back memories of my youth watching Braves baseball on TBS Superstation in Western Pennsylvania, when the Pirates were winning those NL East titles.
Long live the Superstation!
Been there, done that. Called the Cubs going to the 2016 World Series off of a Yasiel Puig double-play before Puig got to the batter's box.
8:37 I love how chilled this announcer is. Kills me every time.
Skip Caray was one of the most enjoyable announcers to ever do it.
He is going to hit his first homer on a 3 1 count onto the second deck.
Best thing ever called in history
You gotta remember, a lot of these announcers were once players themselves or just really hardcore fans of the sport and are able to read an offense by their formation. during certain moments in the game, a certain kind of play is ideal for every situation. For example, If the team has been running the ball a lot and the last play was a run for a first down, the offense might run a play action which is a play that looks like a fake run by is actually a pass play. Its not hard to read a play as its happening and a lot of these announcers are phenomenal at being able to break down a play, which is why they got the job in the first place of course...
Pat Sumerall saying “successfully to Emmitt Smith” after John Madden called the exact play is why Pat is a legend and one of the best of all time. Smooth as hell.
I get goosebumps on the baseball player’s first career home run breakdown. The count and everything!
Mike Blowers laughing after the home run is FANTASTIC!!! He sounds like he was drunk and saw someone drunk off their ass fall down. Hahaha!!
1:23 it’s all funny and laughing but I’d be getting away from that freak so fast
2:40 wait a minute, Milton Bradley? Can't be the same one that made those small handheld games, lol, and other things. Identical names though.
00:19 These are the kinds of accolades we as Mariners fans have to cherish.
I gave my mom an over/under of 5 Tony Romo calls. She called under. Big mistake
The is an announcer is Brazil called Paulo Antunes, he works to ESPN and he predicts with almost 100% accuracy the plays in the NFL. He lived in Sarasota, FLA, for most of his life and he has a deep understanding of American sports, especially the NFL.
Player who hit his first homerun in the majors on the phone with his wife:
"Honey, please tell me you watched my game last night. Can you believe it?"
Wife: "Are you kidding me? Everyone is talking about it.! That broadcaster predicted the batter was going to hit his first home run on a 3-1 count, AND THE BATTER ACTUALLY DID IT! ON A 3-1 COUNT, THE GUY SMASHES HIT FIRST HOME RUN EVER!"
Player: "I know, can you believe it. I couldn't sleep last night. I couldn't wait to call you this morning and tell you about i-"
Wife (interrupting): "THAT HOMER CALL IS GOING TO BE ON MLB Live FOR THE NEXT HUNDRED YEARS!" I feel sorry for that poor player. His first big league homerun and the only thing people will remember is the announcers prediction."
Wife: "I'm sorry sweetie, I was so excited to tell you that crazy story, I haven't even asked about you yet: how did you do last night?"
IDK - I'd be OK with it. It's not like the other 1000 players get their first homerun talked about!
When you hit your first major league home run just to be overshadowed by the announcer.
@06:43 When I look in the grocery bag and see my mom bought the good Fruit Roll Ups
If you're a Mariners broadcaster or your name is Tony Romo, you're really good at doing this
The last one: “it’s been a pleasure knowing y’all my career is over” is the best reaction to the prediction in this video😂
This is an AWESOME video and concept. Even better than successful play calls are what almost sometimes seems a guarantee that announcers are proven exactly wrong on the next play, like "He has not fumbled all year," then he fumbles.
