    My wife bought me one of those for me 50th birthday. So far, I have brewed four beers with it a Irish Stout, strawberry Kolsch, mango Saison, and a lemon drop Ale. I love it it's a wonderful brew system.

      I love how easy and reliable it is. Love all the beers you mentioned but wondering how you got the Strawberry flavor in your Kolsch? I've always been told it is hard to get a lot of natural strawberry flavor to stand out.

    Hey!
    Instead of lifting the basket to get a better recirculation of the wort, just put the recirculating arm between the basket and the anvil with the pump fully open while you move the grains every 15 minutes, that works very well to mix all the wort.

      I've never thought of trying that, but it makes sense. I did two lifts in my last brew and used the small batch adapter which gave me some nice numbers.

    Wow! Nice beer! Definently gonna make this one - I love the Shofferhoffer grapefruit bier and two pitchers' grapefruit radler or even more the two pitchers' nordic jam...can't wait for the tasting. Cheers!

      Your are going to want to see the taste test video this Friday. It came out amazing, but there were some other unexpected things that I think will shock everyone as much as it did me.

    I have an Anvil as well, but mine is the 6.5. I do two lifts at 20 and 40 minutes during the mash. I haven't experienced any issues with the false bottom. But it is lighter with less grain than your batches.

      I saw one person when the false bottom first came out complaining it came loose. Maybe when it first came out there is a possibility that it didn't have the indents or maybe they weren't as big. I like you 20/40 as I usually do 15/30 but if I'm running behind they could easily end up being 20/40 lifts. 😎

    Amazing brew day, as always!

      Amazing beer (actually sipping it at the moment)! My follow up video to this one, the efficiencies were still a little low (at 72% BHE), but the 3rd brew was the charm with my efficiencies being extremely respectable (77.8% BHE). All about getting your processes down and learning the system.

      IT came out amazing, as I just released the tasting video. It was crazy how amazingly clear it came out, plus we did a sample of a variation of it. My mother in-law hooked me up with the T-Shirt and I'm considering making a like design for swag. Thank you and I pass the compliments on to her.

    Could your low eff due to the wheat and oat? I always get lower eff when brewing witbier.

    • @BitterRealityBrewing
      @BitterRealityBrewing  Рік тому

      I'm really not 100% sure, but I did think about that as I use regular oatmeal (not quick cook, aka pre-gelatinized) and doing a gelatin mash which is recommended at 135 to 162 F. I think that would have helped. My next brew was only at 72%, but the one I just did hit an awesome 77.8% BHE which was shocking as I'd been happy with a 72 to 75%. (I did use the small batch adapter and lift the grain basket twice which probably helped a lot.)

      @@BitterRealityBrewing I never used quick oats before. I would find it interesting if you could elaborate on the subject in a video. Cheers

      Crap, I must have forgotten to add it or raise the levels. I was HATING on Adobe Premiere Pro, and about to rip my short hair out of my head. I did that stupid thing we all do from time to time, and updated the software as it was pestering me. Sadly, that is all she wrote. It kept crashing my computer hard for the next 8 hours. Luckily I'm an IT guy by trade but it still took me all night and part of the AM to fix. I hate when companies release BETA software as production...(I did install the BETA) but was running under the production version. I finally did some more updates and fixes before it finally compiled. I usually upload at 4K, but with the nightmares this video is also at only 1080HD as I was afraid to do 4K. The problem appears to be resolved now but I'm not real happy with Adobe at the moment. (I probably still have some Windows files to fix as my computer will no longer power cycle without hitting the reset button twice before it boots back up. I'll have to fix that in a few weeks when I actually have time.)

      @BitterRealityBrewing lol I completely understand where you are coming from. We were doing a network migration at our hq today, and I was at a machine with a legacy piece of software and Windows updates ready to roll. I got to the screen that gave me the option to close out the open programs or cancel and decided to cancel the updates. I had a sneaky suspicion that software wasn't going to work after the updates. The machine is on guest wifi, so I'm not concerned with updates at the moment
