I'm glad you showed us the packaging of the FREEZER paper. In the U.S. we also have waxed paper. If you had not shown the product some people may have come home with the waxed paper instead of freezer paper which is what we need to accomplish the goal of sticking it to the fabric. Thank you for this tutorial which is older I know but I'm using it so maybe others are too.
Zoe it was just the fabric glue from crafters companion not the temporary one but it peeled off the card like a dream. I've got the freezer paper but have an aversion to the iron lol xx
You can actually find cloth already fused to paper at quilt stores if you don't want to attempt this yourself, but I have preferred using this method for years. Thanks for showing the process to others! I use them as full flip pages in my books. Will love to see what you do for pockets.
In North America we call that freezer paper. (It also said it on the box) It only has wax on one side. There is also waxed paper which I think is also called grease proof paper in Britain and it is a bit thinner and waxed both sides. I’m guessing that from watching Jamie Oliver use it. Great tutorial I tried that years ago for a quilting project. Now I want to go play with it again!
This is fantastic; I can't wait to give it a try! Your tutorials and ideas are great, love your videos. I get great inspiration for my journals. Thanks!
Really great idea! Thanks I will have to try this. Um, as soon as I remember where I put my iron... just kidding. I know where it is. Just thinking this might be a good use for my press iron that has been sitting around gathering dust since I stopped sewing regularly. I noticed it sitting on the floor in my sewing/craft room the other day. Was trying to think what I could do with it.
Hi Zoe, watched your video a while back but came back to double check the process.waiting on my waxed paper arriving from Amazon tomorrow and will give this a bash!
zoe tofield hi Zoe, I’ve just finished making a needle book (after seeing Edwina’s needle book video) and moving on to the second one. The fabric printed like a dream! (Apart from one sheet which got mangled as my edge wasn’t smooth enough). I used the left overs to stamp on. Thanks for the amazing tutorial! Would never have thought of this. Will do a video when I’ve finished the second book
Love this! I have done similar by ironing tissue paper onto waxed paper for decoupage, that works well to 😊😊😊 thank you for sharing, love your latest journal 😊😊
Another thorough tutorial and good results... I wonder if there is a way to make the ink permanent... maybe a matte sealer sprayed over the top? Not that I would ever wash a book I've put it in, but it might protect it since everyone will undoubtedly touch the print once they see that lovely texture! TFS!!
Thank you for the tutorial Zoe...extremely helpful and so excited I have finally found some freezer paper of all places at a Hardware Store. lol (Irene Cloutier) JJJ, JJTutorials. I will be posting your tutorial on our group Junk Journal Tutorials...thank you so much again.
Love this video :) thank you for sharing !! I have printed hundreds for sheet like this...the one thing I noticed was...my printer wouldn’t feed the fabric/sheet some times...I solved that by cutting my fabric 1/4 smaller on all sides, then the paper (I have a wax paper border) It takes more time then cutting it the exact size as the paper... but if you have a lot to print the time equals out :)
Thank you so much for this fantastic video. I feel empowered to give it a go. Can you share a link to the artwork that you used in this particular video?
Hi Cherry, I’m not sure as I’ve never thought of washing it. I’m sure I’ve heard that this should be colourfast, but you could try washing in cold water first then use hot🤔
TFS great tutorial ....you said you use Photo Shop to get your prints, just want your opinion, is that program easy to use? Been trying to find a program that will let me load more than one print at a time (which would be absolutely a Must for printing on fabric) and using digital stamps so I can place them in different locations on the paper. Any suggestions?
Hi Nutmeg, personally I like photoshop but I’m sure you can copy and paste onto a document using a word program. That would be a cheaper alternative, just a thought 😊
Hi Zoe, thanks for the amazing tutorial. I want to ask if this is wash resistant or fades away with hand wash or even dry clean? Is this print any long lived on a fabric like a scarf.
Hi Surabhi, I haven’t tried washing them but I believe if it’s ironed first, then it should be wash resistant. My advice would be to print, iron and wash a small piece first 😊
Would you believe me if I said, I thought I was listening to my voice, you sound just like. I was brought up in the Isle of Wight. Now live in west Australia and do you think I can find waxed paper anywhere, nope. So it now an online job, oh by the way, I not you cause I 78 lol. Love your lesson have saved
I think you're going to be doing lots of prints like this lol. OMG where can I get this waxed paper? It would give me the opportunity to use that rotary cutter I bought off Amazon last month! I always have my settings on matte photo paper as the saturation is greater (now that I'm using those print cartridges you recommended I don't need to worry about using too much ink). This is cheaper than xcut fabric sheets! UPDATE - I've just been on to Amazon and found the waxed paper!!! Lol
Brilliant! Thank you so much for sharing how to print on fabric! Loved how easy the wax paper pulled off, as well.
Best way to print on fabric. I love this simple method.

Hi Nancy, I’ve just tried hand washing a picture to see what happened and it only faded a little 😁
Thank you so much - precise and clear to me.

0:33 "... back on passive"? ! -- did she mesn "burlap" fabric on the back of the printed flower print?
Hi francess, I backed that flower onto hessian (uk) or burlap rest of the world 😁

Thank you so much for this fantastic video. I feel empowered to give it a go. Can you share a link to the artwork that you used in this particular video?
Hi TNis, thank you 😊 I'm a serial collector of old images 😬
I too love vintage botanicals (as well as butterflies, moths, insects, you name it!!!). Can they be found as a downloadable image on-line?
Try the Graphics Fairy online You will love it!!
Awesome thank you ❣️😁
Hi Lynette, you’re welcome 😊
Hi Zoe, can you tell me if the fabric is unbleached calico, please?
Hi Donna, I’ve had a quick look at the fabric and I’m guessing it is unbleached (I buy it off a local market, so no tags)
How would you seal your ink on the linen to make it machine washable?
Hi Cherry, I’m not sure as I’ve never thought of washing it. I’m sure I’ve heard that this should be colourfast, but you could try washing in cold water first then use hot🤔
zoe tofield how would one set the color?
I’ve had a look round and it would seem that you iron it first to set the colour. I’ve never tried it, so ........
zoe tofield Thank you. I also thought about it this morning

hi, what printer have you used, please??
Hi, I use an Epson eco print ink jet. hope that helps 😊
Thanks Zoe, having a go at this is on my to do list!!!!! 😊x
Hi Tina, it’s so much fun 😁

Hi Katie, I have to get mine online as well 😊
That is so cool.... freezer paper I've never seen it, is it an Amazon find again Zoe? 😊😊 tfs
I’m afraid it’s normally Amazon 😬
Yes sadly it often is.... 😕
