Stop apologizing Tina!! Its all fantastic hun!!! What a fab idea!! 😍😆
Love it! I've been meaning to try this for months, but what with house searching and then moving, today I finally got my crafting area set up. I'll do it on the weekend. Thanks hun, for the tips and the reminder! x
These look great Tina. Great idea and something else to add to my ever growing list of things to try. Thank you for sharing. 😊
I'm excited for your success! I too have wanted to print on fabric, you've encouraged me to try too. No need to apologize for the quality of your video, just grateful you're doing these for us.
What a great video!!! I've had issues printing on fabric, can't wait to try this!! Thank you!!❤️
Great idea Tina, Ty so much for sharing and they turned out perfectly, great to use on so many projects..
Hey, no need to apologise! You're kindly sharing your experience and knowledge for free! Thanks - looks really good. 😊
What a clever way of printing on fabric, thank you so much for sharing
That is fantastic I’m so excited!!! I love it 💕
This is VERY cool!! Love the collage fabric, esp!! All beautiful though!! Tyfs!!
What a great idea. I have the same printer and love it. Can't wait to print on Fabric
Hi Tina well done you👍😀🌟 the results were just amazing, I can’t wait to see what you do with these beautiful sheets of fabric. I have had mixed results with mine but never tried the sticker paper, what a great idea, thank you. Hope you are having an amazing day, sending you lots of love as always xxxxxxxxx Dorothy 😘🙋🏻❤️🌟
Love this!! So much easier than the other ways I have tried!❤️
Tina , this was terrific, love this method and I’m going to try this myself 😃The other way I’ve done this was good but this is so much easier. TFS 😊🌸💕
OMG ,that is so cool,I have learned something again by you , thanks a bunch ,cant wait to try it🤗🌻
HI AGAIN TINA, OH WOW, I HAVE NEVER TRIED ANYTHING LIKE THIS - WILL HAVE TO HAVE A GO, ITS A BRILLIANT IDEA. THANKS AGAIN TINA, LUV CHRISTINE XX
This was fun to watch. Thanks for sharing
This is really exciting! I cannot wait to try this.
Yay! The other methods I've seen were too "fiddly" for me too. I'm excited too & can't wait to try this. I don't think my HP has a thick paper setting. I need to look for it. I've jammed it a couple of times with dyed paper. I need to look for that setting. Anyway, wish me luck. No worries about the filming. I'm just delighted you shared your discovery with us!
Love this!! Thank you for sharing.
If you can’t find full sheet labels, you can use freezer paper and iron it onto the fabric. You cut it to the size of your printer paper and it goes thru you primer very easily. Once it goes thru, just peel of the presser paper. It doesn’t leave any residue and it works really well.
Thank you, I have heard others mention that, but was never sure how it worked x
Ohhh... great idea Jana 😀
I think I will give this a try. Looks great!
I have never had success printing on paper I will have to try htis method...thanks for sharing God Bless
Hello! I just want to thank you so much for sharing this process. I have a running list of things that I come across and would like to try, and printing on fabric is one of them. Thanks to your video, I have a place to start. I appreciate the time and effort that you’ve taken to show “us” how you did this. 😊
Thank you, I had always wanted to try it also, but often found it all a bit fussy to do. I found this method so easy and was so fun to use, I couldn’t wait to share it with everyone. As I said it is not my idea, but it is a brilliant one. Have fun making some custom fabrics x
Wow they turned out brilliantly. Tfs. Sue💜
How exciting!! I’m going to try this soon! TFS! ❤️
Yes, I was sooooo excited too. Had wanted to print on fabric for ages, but hadn’t thought it would work very well, I couldn’t wait to share this. Have fun when you try it x
Wow! Awesome! Thanks for the experiment! May try this. I have been wanting to do. I just bought an eco tank printer. We’ll see!
Ohhh! Love this!!! 💞
Oooooooo this is exciting!
Tada! You did it! Tfs
This is so neat! Love this look : )
You are truly brilliant 👏👏👏💙💙💙💙
Thank you for sharing! Cool! ❤
OMG! I could kiss you! this is brilliant! I tried it and it worked like a charm thank you thank you! Now I'm going buy more sticker paper! 💚
Good for you for trying something else out of your comfort zone! I LOVE printing on fabric (as you know, I’ve done it with 2 of your kits to make journal covers!). I hadn’t heard of using the labels to do it - I use what we here in the US call Freezer paper - paper on one side, a waxy surface on the other, and iron the fabric to the waxy side, and cut to paper size (8.5 x 11 here). Makes wonderful stuff and the colors come out SO nicely. Have fun - because it becomes addicting! LOL. Hugs!
Thank you so much. I'll try it.
Just keep in mind that you cannot wash the fabric once you’ve printed on it. Inkjet ink is water soluble and will wash out of the fabric. I’ve used the freezer paper method successfully for making images on fabric for quilts, but had to soak the fabric in a specific solution before printing and then a different solution ftr printing to make the image permanent.
What is the solution you use to make fabric waterproof
Great idea and thanks for taking the time to show it:-)). Gail
I haven't tried it either. I will try it. Thank you.
i need to attempt this thank you!!
Fantastic Tina, these turned out awesome! They printed perfectly! I have always wanted to print on fabric too, but I am terrified to try it on my OLD printer lol Great job and thanks for sharing!
Me too Sandi, but I was so excited when they printed out so well. Hope you enjoy doing it if you decide to give it a go. X
Thank you Tina!! XOXO 💕
I appreciate you giving me the link to your tutorial on the fabric printing.
You’re welcome x
They turned out beautifully lovey, i think if you dont have label paper you can also stick the fabric to the paper just on the edges (where the white border will be ) with some masking tape too. xox
Great video thank you.
When you're choosing your pics, do you find that you have to adjust brightness, contrast etc?
Using label sheets is brilliant! I really love the background page because it can be used as a one-piece fabric cover. Suggestion: when cutting the fabric before running it through the printer it is best to use a fabric rotary cutter because not only do you get a good straight cut but it prevents too many sm fabric threads getting inside your printer. Otherwise, you risk damaging your print head and mucking up the insides of your printer. The small investment for the cutter vs a printer repair bill or outright replacement is obviously worth it. You want to prevent any foreign matter from getting into your printer. I have the 6968 printer which is pretty much the same printer just a year newer is all lol. Too bad they don't have the additional rear feeder as well. A lot of printers do and it works better for anything bulky because the paper goes in straight vs having to curl around the drum. Mine does not work well with coffee dyed paper, it jams with every second or third paper & wastes it. Now, that said, if you don't care if it is printed on the label paper or not & want to go cheaper you can use "Freezer Paper". There are many UA-cam tutorials out there to guide you through that process (it's relatively easy as long as you have an iron). TFS and I hope you don't mind me throwing in my suggestions. OK dearest, toodles
All tips gratefully received Ginger. Thank you. Great idea for the rotary cutter, and yes I think I have seen a tutorial with the freezer paper. X
OMG. OMG. It worked and came out beautifully! I wasn’t sure if the label paper was going to be peelable off the material and it was! Believe me when I was watching your video, I was as exited as you were! Thanks so much for this tutorial!
Oh thank you Patsy, lovely that you were as excited as me, I couldn’t believe how well it worked, like you I had serious doubts and was thrilled to bits with the results! Enjoy if you try this x
Shabbydabbydoodah you have to forgive my writing. I think I proofread before sending and I don’t know how the words get changed lol. I did try it after watching your video and I was thrilled that the paper peeled off the material very easily. I have been wanting to try printing on fabric for awhile but never did. So thank you again for experimenting and sharing this video 💕
Thank you for the link. I love it.
You’re welcome, glad you enjoyed it x
Great experiment you brave girl. Thank you
Thank you, I was really thrilled that I finally braved it x
Really enjoyed the video. TFS
I love it! I have to try this. I have been wanting to print out words on fabric! Tfs
No problem Lisa. Yes, soooooo many things to print, just wish there were more hours in the day x
It's so funny that you showed this today. I've been thinking about printing some of your images on fabric. I've been sewing for a thousand years (not quite, but a long time! 😂), own several sewing machines, etc.... There are companies that sell paper backed fabric or canvas for printing with a home printer. I don't know, price wise, how they compare to using a sheet of labels like you did. I've used the canvas backed version and it worked well. Just looked on Amazon (US site), an Avery 5 pack of printable fabric for inkjet is $14.95. 25 sheets of label paper is $8.26. So that's much more economical plus you can use your own fabric.
I have used freezer paper before and it is the least expensive way I believe. There are several tuts on this method. Easier to find also, grocery store next to aluminum foil, etc.
Thank you, I need to try this x
I've painted on "cotton cloth" not canvas! Never printed on cloth in a printer, but yours came out so pretty< I want to try!! Luv it :)
Very innovative 😁❣️
Thank you!!
can these be machine washed if i sew them onto a sweatshirt as a tag or on the outside etc
Ok this is getting freaky now...same sewing machine, same worksurfaces! (Mine are wickes driftwood) and i use HP instant ink too! Right need to add some full sheet labels to my ebay basket.... That looks lovely printed on fabric! So excited! Something new! 😘😘😘
Glad you found this and like it, it kept me excited for ages, still now I feel like it was one of the most exciting things I’ve done whilst making Junk Journals. I couldn’t believe how well it turned out! I hope you enjoy making lots of goodies! X
How did you prepare the materia
I am just starting to stamp on fabric and love it. I have a old pillow case that I can use already. My dog ripped it and it has embroidery and a crochet trim that I will be cutting up. I bought heat and bond and a old iron that I can use. I will have to let you know how that works... I feeling better now and I have brand new ink... You know what that means , I'm going to be in trouble printing while my husband is at work.
Yes, I have stamped onto fabric for a while, but it sucks up the ink, so I find it works well mainly with pretty new and juicy inkpads (stazon). Fantastic that you have a pillowcase ready for use, how convenient that your dog ripped it! Lol i still have a lot of goodies to send you, haven’t forgotten. Yes you ARE going to be in lots of TROUBLE! X
Using heat and bond sounds like a good idea especially if you want to be able to iron the designs on like a sticker. I don't quite get the point of using a sticker sheet, except for stability in getting the paper through your printer. Now if you could peel the paper off and the sticky part was left that would be brilliant! I probably would just use freezer paper.
I checked out your link. It is for Amazon UK. Everyone in the US will need to look it up on our Amazon
Yes, sorry Laura, I thought you guys might be able to get better deals maybe at Walmart or somewhere similar? X
Where do you get the images from?
Awesome! I wonder if it would work with laser? One way to find out....Thank you for sharing!
Good luck, let us know if it works x
Hi Tina ...just come across this video, great idea...do you peel of the backing paper off when finished or leave it on?
Thank you, I was so excited at how well this worked. Yes afterwards I peeled the label off. X
That seems great! So when you print on the fabric you put the fabric side up in the paper tray?
Honestly it worked so well Linda, I couldn’t believe it I had low hopes it was brilliant. On my particular printer it’s face down, but you might need to check with your printer x
I use freezer paper ironed wax side down on the fabric. It works perfectly, it is very cheap and I cut the freezer paper exactly the same size as a piece of printer paper.
Thank you Vicky, I haven’t tried that method. Great fun printing on the fabric though isn’t it x
Sorry, Vicki, not Vicky x
They came out beautifuly. What is your printer. TFS. Lesley. 👏🏻
Thank you Lesley, it is a HP Officejet 6950 x
It was fun watching you :) Just a heads up, I believe you need to clean the lense on your camera. I thought it was my screen at first, but the finger marks wouldn't go away no matter how much I rubbed - so I checked on other pages and the finger marks weren't there out of this particular filming :p
Thank you. Yes unfortunately it seems to be marks on my camera lens, I have tried to get them off, but can’t seem to remove them. I hope it wasn’t too distracting x
I bought freezer paper to do this and never have, I do have full sheets of the label paper Going to try this. what happened when you peeled the backing off the fabric?
Oh yes, do give this a go, I was so thrilled with the results. Yes, I should have shown that, but I have done another couple of videos, one making a journal cover with the full collage sheet, and another video with some suggestions as to ways to use all your new little fabric pieces. They will go up over the next couple of days. To answer your question though, it was fantastic, just like any shop bought fabric x
@@shabbydabbydoodah Tina Can't wait to see what you have done with the fabrics, I was always afraid of missing threads & it jamming the printer, I really should just suck it up & do it.
Wow, that's amazing, that the quality of images are so good! Did you use muslin or a cotton? White or off white color? Don't apologize, it's ok-you were trying something new, and we've mostly all had kids, no apologies for toys either :)
Thank you Jessica, yes, like you I just couldn’t believe the quality of the printing, I never dreamed it would work so well. I just used an old white bedsheet (washed and clean obviously 😉). Have fun if you decide to do some x
Actually Tina you did get borderless on that second sheet but I couldn’t see it all very well I kept seeing only half of the sheets! I will check this out! I save all my paper from my labels but it is not sticky after removing the labels. It is shiny but your fabric seemed to stick to it? What am I missing here?
Hi Jeanne, I’m not sure I quite understand your question I’m afraid. I stuck the fabric to the sticky label itself. I was then able to remove the sticky label after printing, does that help you at all? X
Thanks tina, I am so dumb! I got it now! I kept thinking you used the backing ,not the sheet itself! Yikes! Takes me a bit sometimes! Ha
The sticker paper is 11.99 for 50 sheets and the address labels are 11.99 for 100 sheets on Amazon
laura vasquez hi Laura, I noticed your comment and wanted also to ask you the question too! I save all my paper after I print a page of labels but once I pull the label off, the paper is shiny but not sticky. How did Tina’s fabric stick or how do you do it! I want to be sure before I order this on amazon. My email is jipc345@gmail.com
@@jeanniedreemer1944 I am going to check Walmart first before I buy the sticker sheets. You put the sticky side on the fabric and the other side is paper. You can use double sided paper but it would be more expensive. I will email you when I get home this afternoon.
Hmm. I am the photo in the dictionary next to ‘Pinterest Fail’ . But this is now on my list.
Lol x
you hold your i pad to much on the left we can not see what your doing
I am so sorry Jeannine, apologies x
much easier than way i did it which involved masking taping fabric to paper, Yikes!
Lol. Yes I have tried it that way it was a bit of a pain! Haha x
