- Abbie nailed her color matching! Trial, error, and reworking the approach is what it takes sometimes. She wasn't understanding what we were asking. Once we got her there she did awesome!

I am so proud of Abigail for nailing her colors in school she’s an amazing little girl and she’s grown up to be a great young woman I have autism to
me also! i love myself just the way I am
Abbie has developed SO MUCH since moving house. Its crazy.
Cactus scree Wait??! When did Abby move the house??!! LOL I'm just messing with you
@@lorettatomplait4979 I had to read that a few time to understand the joke. Sorry. Lol
I’ve been homeschooling for 4 years and have done away with our homeschool routine during this sheltering in place. I love how you and Priscilla just embraced the changes and have found things that work for you. The beauty of homeschool is that it can be personalized to each individual or family.
So Many Celestines we homeschool too and that’s one of the main reasons we chose too.....two of our kiddos have ADHD so sitting at a desk in a classroom all day was basically torture for them. Our lessons are based around each of our children’s individual needs and they have flourished❤️
For sure! It works so much better according to her schedule and how she’s feeling. If the goal is to learn than I don’t see any reason to force a schedule that would inhibit that.
@@fatheringautism one reason why I cant understand these kids having to get up to take a bus to school at 4 am.
So Many Celestines hi So many Celestines you are right!
FatheringAutism That is true!
I love the conversation y’all were having on yalls walk. Abbie was so engaged, she was smiling and laughing at you. She is such a superstar absolutely love you Abbie girl and so proud of you.
Love how you changed the activity for success instead of insisting she do it the way you thought she would understand. I love watching your interactions and celebrations of her success! Go Abbie!
I got so stressed so quick bc I though Isaiah was really a random neighbor and I was like oh no! Social distancing!! 😂
Same!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I was like, "oh no, six feet, six feet! Oh nvm it's just Isaiah"
Abbie is so blessed to have parents that care so much and spend so much time teaching her, even when it can be frustrating.
My mom is actually a teacher and she is so busy! She barely has time to eat and sleep juggling work and her online classes. All of us kids are older and very independent but its a little hard for us to spend time all together. Im still so proud of her for adapting so quickly to this weird situation and every day she reminds me of how hard my teachers are working. Respect!!
Watching Abbie always makes me emotional, you can see how much she understands she really is so smart, beautiful and funny! Go Abbie your progress has been nothing short of incredible well done 💕 and of course.... well done you Great parents, brother, friends lovely family 💓
It’s so wonderful to see what she’s up too, as A SEN TA it’s great to get ideas for when we are back in work 💓 Get so emotional seeing her thrive and progress she’s just incredible!
I am so proud of Abbie
Me too!

Oh Abbie, if you only knew how many people are celebrating with you when you learn something new and get the hang of it, no matter how long it takes! ❤️Also, how sweet it was when Sandy was kissing Abbie at the pool. 🥰
I started crying when she got the colours. So amazing.
So proud of you Abbie, you are doing amazing with school. I love to see happy smile on your face. You are such a sweet young lady.
Nailed it!! She was answering so fast too :) super proud!
Maybe not stop and 'go'... But 'stop and walk'... Seems like sometimes she gets caught up in the word 'go', it gets used a lot... Using instead the specific action you want her to do, i.e- 1, 2, 3- jump! Ready set, your turn/ jump in! Just a thought, of course, you all know best... She's doing so well! So inspiring to watch you all!!!
Dang near cried seeing Abbie give another coin a try when the first one was hard. I’ve been watching for almost a year but I binge watched. She is showing so much growth.
awee i love that it seems like Asa and Abbie hung out all day and had a great day today. how awesome
As a teacher, my favorite part of distance learning is watching my coworkers try to teach their smallish children while we are having a staff meeting. Lots of interrupting to ask the math teacher how to do something!
Haha, I bet. Trying to teach parents how to teach, educate children, and teach their own children. Let alone everyday life stuff. My brother is a teacher with two very little boys. He’s actually losing his mind.
Since I've been watching your channel for about a year I've noticed Abby smiling more and learning so fast.. Way to go Abby
In the Autism unit I worked in, one of our tasks was assembling 10 boxes of makers. We made a color chart for the order of markers to go in each box. We started the student emptying the boxes into one larger bin and then separating them by color into 10 small bins. Then they took a marker box and filled each according to the color chart. (Color chart optional....could just assemble one of each color, any order). Seemed to be a favorite with some of our kids. Also. Collating papers and paperclipping or stapling. You may already have these ideas, just thought I would put them out there. Also folding hand towels. Matching socks. And hanging shirts in hangers.
She did great with the colors!! And matching them on screen to the sticky notes!! That was the best part!
Abbie looked so proud of herself as she matched the colors on her ipad! I'm happy she picked it up so quickly :)
I got SO excited for Abbie when she got all of her colors right. She learns SO quickly ❤
That hard work is paying off! I cheered when Abbie got her colors right away! I felt your happiness Asa! We’re so proud of you Abbie! Asa, Pricilla, Isaiah & Summer we’re so proud of you! Your dedication to Abbie is nothing but spectacular. Abbie is a lucky girl and we are blessed that you’ve chosen to share your journey with the world.
8:33 I love how Abbie just spins into the room all fancy! So proud of her doing so amazing! *high five from 6 feet away!*
Im so proud of Abbie! She’s doing a great job with those colors!
That smile when she was in the pool though....wow you light up the whole world with that beautiful smile Abbie ♡
The way she just gazes up at you all. Just such love and trust. Like yes this is one of my people.
I’ve never watch these videos so much. I am younger than abbie but it is always so interesting to watch her grow and learn. I wish I was with abbie, I would love to be her friend!
A great teacher and an even better student.
Asa I am always in awe of how vast your knowledge is in ABA ... how to modify ... how to back track ... how to fade prompts etc... I know it’s your life you live every day ... but some no matter how much training still have trouble with it ... you really have a gift ❤️ so funny when you guys were taking a walk I didn’t realize it was Isaiah and he says howdy neighbor ... I’m like “oh man guy stay back 6 feet!” Lol
Abby's smile warms my heart
The whole family warms my heart 💕
Abbie was amazing with colors but Dad!! You deserve the biggest price, you are so sweet!! Keep up with the great job!! 👍👍👍
I smiled the whole time she did the colors! Way to go 💙🥳
I honestly admire your family. The way you find ways to help Abbie progress and make the most of this quarantine is amazing!
All I can say is “big thank you”, for allowing us to watch Abbie’s accomplishments. And improvements. It’s really a beautiful thing. So amazing to watch. It really is! 👍 she’s come so far.
Love Abbey's attitude when she is doing her work 👱♀️😍🙌🏻...
13:00 broke me down 😭 for some reason watching Asa talk to Abbie while walking and her gazing at you was so heartwarming... you are so amazing
I love how Sandy just seems to adore Abbie. I'm sure Maverick loves Abbie too, but he's an older, more reserved dog. Sandy seems like she's trying to get Abbie to love her just as much as she love Abbie. So cute.
Abbie is doing Amazing! She has really thrived!!
Abbie definitely loves the water. That's awesome
oh that was so exciting watching Abbie just go straight to the right colours...xoxox well done Ab!!!! xoxox oh i am so overexcited to watch Abbie do so well with the colours on her ipad...first go!! so awesome to see xoxox...and watching her actually looking at the sticky note then at her screen too...woohoooo....so love the fun Abbie has in the pool xox..take care n keep safe...love n hugs to everyone....
it’s so awesome to see how much abbie has grown , you guys are doing such a great job with her! she’s improving every day, and you can tell in the vlogs
Beautiful water baby Abbie in her happy place,,,,having the pool is a huge bonus with homeschooling....
Have you tried getting a bucket of the matching bears? They can be used for counters, for matching, for lots of things! They come with color matching cups as well. She could place a bear on everything that matches that color, etc. Color bears rock!!! Amazon has them.
Great Job to Abbie & Dad! As an COTA I truely appreciate how involved, understanding, and aware of Abbie's needs and how to adjust things for her to still be successful.
Teacher Mr. Asa! Everything everyone needs a dad like Asa if your child is on the spectrum! You need to set up an online “school” that parents can watch! You explain things so well. You are so patient. Every me needs to share your videos! You can actually looking back and forth, really concentrating! I love you guys! Every day I get excited to look for our videos. And Scilla! Your cooking! I gain weight just watching! Lol Did you ever play the game “Red Light. Green Light? Maybe you could make a round circle that ya red and a circle that is green and show hew what each one means. I love how she like to be in the pool all the time. And it’s amazing you taught her to swim! I’m sure there are always the negative that say,” you can teach autistic people how to swim!”
Go Abbie!!! My boyfriend and I met while both being aba therapists, he was was working with a kid next to me and I heard him read “A Fish Out of Water”by dr Seuss 10000 times. Love your channel!! ❤️❤️
My husband and I are both teachers. So we are teaching our students and our daughter. We work our schedule around her. We have built-in a bunch of breaks. We have a dry erase calendar by her work station where I put the tasks that must be done that day. She really enjoys checking off the items as she completes them. We also only do four-day classes instead of 5 and that helps her stay focused. Abbie did great in today's vlog with school!
Remember that video where you cried because you were able to go on a walk with Abbie without her trying to run back 20 feet into it? Look at her now. It's incredible. 🥰
So heartwarming! Abbie you are a one in a million and the family that are raising you, blessed to have you, are so incredible with there continuous love, support and patience x
So proud of this sweet girl! Quarantine has been really rough and your family seems to be doing really well with it!! Good on you guys!! Good job, Abbie!
Your family is amazing!!!! And I’m so proud of Miss Abbie!!!!❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for sharing homeschooling with Abbie! I think this is a very overwhelming time for so many parents and that by showing how you are handling the situation you are helping others so much. I am so friggin proud of Abbie!!! WTG!!
I’m going to home school my son next year so I love seeing all the things other parents of autistics do to help me learn to school him better when I do. I binge watched your earlier stuff last night as a new subscriber. You guys melt my heart with how wonderful you are with her. How patient and kind you are. I’m finding it really tough to work and school him. I’m a registered nurse so need to work so to say school hasn’t been a challenge is a lie
Abbie seems to be having such a great day in this video!! Glad everyone is getting the swing of quarantine 💙 love your beautiful family!!
Abbie loves her pool! You guys are the best parents and I love that you give her all the opportunities to have the best life!! Abbie couldn't have a better brother! He's absolutely amazing with her! What a blessing to have Summer with ya all? I love "Fathering Autism" Love & hugs from Utah!🥰🥰
I so proud of her
I have quickly learned since March that I am not a teacher. My daughter is only 7. Her school didn't send anything super difficult for her. Our problem is she so misses her class, the routine, her friends. She was accepted into the gifted class this year and fights with me about her work being too easy. Luckily her regular teacher has recently been working with her gifted teacher and us to modify what she does everyday. We only have a few weeks left of "distance learning" but we are working on thing for her to work on this summer to help keep her on track.
Abbie- I’m so proud of you with matching your colors!! Woot woot!! I loved how you had amazing eyes looking during that task! 🥰🥰 Asa- great job encouraging & teaching her!
You go Abb! I felt so bad for the both of you during her last therapy where she was frustrated for not knowing what was being asked of her. I’m so proud ❤️
What a awesome job you did, Abbs. So proud of you. And you, too, Ace.
You and Cilla are great teachers.
Do you think you both will miss doing it when Abbie goes back to school?
The pool looks, very, inviting. 🏊 Sandy is growing, fast. She's a cutie. 🐶 I thought she'd jump in, being a Retriever. lol 💙
It is cold here and spitting snow, occasionally. Mother Nature is not being kind, right now.
The daffodils and Hyacinth, did, wake up. 🌼🌷
The trees are, still, bare. Usually, we have leaves sprouting by now.
The trees must think they have to be in lock down, too. 🌳🌲🌳🍃
Take Care....Everyone looks healthy. 😷🙏😇
Have a peaceful night...🌜🌌🌃😴😴😴😴
Love ya...😘💖😍❤💝
Abigail your color matching was on point today!!! I love watching you swim, your families happy place.
Abbies the bomb with Colors!! Great job..
So proud of you Abbie!! ❤️
Abbie is so amazing! I couldn’t stop smiling while she was doing her work, great job Abbie!!
She is doing great and You are really working hard and Abbie is not doing great, she is doing awesome 👏🏻 😎
Abbie you go girl so proud of you
The game twister could help Abbie with names of colours and also gives her some exercise plus everyone can play
Well done Abbie!! Shes progressing so well, you are a great father and teacher.
When you were doing the matching colours I was wondering for other non verbal children/adults, if there was a way to test for colour blindness...(obviously not for Abbie, shes nailing the colours!)
Robyn Taylor I would check with an optician, or an optometrist or ophthalmologist (not sure which one, but contact the ones you can locate in your area via a google search or yellow pages) to hear if there are color-blindness tests that will work for the non-verbal.
Remember that a person can be partially color blind, being able to see the difference between some colors, but not others (like not being able to see if something is red or green, even if they can see all other colors well.)
Your patience and over all demeanor reminds me a lot of my dad. I am grown and he is older but I totally see similarities. Love it.
Asa is such a great dad and has so much patients with this whole home school thing. The way he is with her is so amazing it makes me a bit emotional. The bomb that they have when they go on walks, it’s just so cute.
Some use one dedicated tablet in locked/guided access JUST for the communication app. Making that the TALKER. Not youtube, not other entertainment, etc. Then the other tablet is for entertainment, making it easier to not get distracted. The case etc. can be different color to keep them apart (or even size, ipad mini vs regular size). Just the thing that one ipad is the talker, thus not a gadget for other stuff than communicating. An idea for Abbie?
I'm making her a jumper for her birthday for you guys hope she likes it 😂
Scott and kelsy are you mailing it to them?! I know a lot of people have things to send them and am hoping for their mailing address
Yes but I have the same problem when it comes to the email address😂
Scott and kelsy I have some awesome stuff for them. I also need to figure out Abbie’s, Isaiah’s and Asa’s favorite colors since I know Cilla and Becca’s and Summers.
I think abbies is siyan blue but Im mixing in some over colours so it Intresting to her😂
I'm not sure on the over two thoe
Can you do a school morning routine with Abigail Isaiah and summer
Great idea!!
Isabella VanDaele great idea
that would be great
Clever girl! Well done matching colours Abbie. I love watching her communicate. I love watching her smile and laugh.
She's so smart! I hope to meet her one of these days after this whole covid thing. I admire her
My son does his school work while I’m working in the other room on my school stuff. It works well sometimes he’ll send me a meeting request...lol
😂❤️😂
What a beautiful life you guys have created! Makes me happy that I get to watch a part of it!
You did AWESOME Abbie! Keep up the great work Sweet Girl. Congratulations, Asa for a job well done on teaching her . Kudos to Priscilla, Isaiah and Summer, they are great with Abbie as well. She is a bright , beautiful young girl with a bright future ahead. I love your channel I've been binge watching! ❤
Did you see my Cheesy Smile 😊 when Abbie nailed the colors !! She’s a beautiful Princess 👸
I love the whiskers , my husband grew some too! You look great,. I love seeing her grow !
Abigail is my hero! She makes my heart burst, she is so freaking clever! Props to mum and dad too, you are doing amazing!

Well done ABBIE you are amazing to be on UA-cam
What a proud moment!! For all of us!!!
She did amazing job
I'm so proud of Abbie!!!
I teach preschool at a school like JSA! Parents like you give me so much happiness in my heart because I can see what my 4 year olds might be like in the future-successful! Thank you for being such an advocate of Abbie’s education, ABA and the autism community as a whole! We need more Maas families in the world!! ❤️ Also distance learning is so hard for special education I miss my kiddos (that’s how distance learning is going for me!)
Abbie in the pool is by far my favorite thing in the WORLD!
Thanks Ab for putting a smile on my face when I need it the most:)
Abbie is sooooo smart. 🔋
Can I just say how inspirational you guys are. My son is showing signs of being on the autism spectrum we're currently waiting a final diagnosis. He's not non verbal but he struggles massively to get across what he means. He's currently at a school level 18 months below his current age (8) but doing amazing at his current home schooling due to lockdown. I love seeing your videos and my son has started to watch them too. You guys are amazing and thank you for sharing your lives with us :)
Great job Abbie doing colors and stop n go for school. I'm so proud of you. You are a super smart girl.😀👍
She’s doing very well!!! 🙏❤️
So amazing to see her learning and growing so much everyday. Your videos never fail to make me smile!
I am so so proud of Abbie. I love your family ❤️❤️❤️
Of all the notes app, reminders and organisation apps I’ve used, nothing is more productive then the old school notepad and pen lists, it’s much more satisfying and efficient!!
