Janey, you need to make a chart / plan to hang in your office, then check off the accomplishments! I have watched you from the beginning, and the transformation on this property/ home is astounding! Well done! You haven't even included the business retail shop, Jason's transformation to Gardner extraordinaire, the home interior update transformations, etc. Remember, the costs of homeownership and projects is over the edge. Pinch yourself! 😀😀😀

Where you're planning to add more compost, leaving the supertunias in the ground will be more beneficial than removing the plants. Leaving roots in the soil is very beneficial for soil health. Have you thought about cover cropping? There are some that are meant for breaking up compacted soil.

  • @MyFocusVaries

Insomnia gets me an early view of your tour. 😂😢 You've put in so much work, and it really shows. 🌹 ❤️ Cucumber can be bitter when it's stressed, so maybe not enough water would be my first suspicion because of your heat. Where you're going to add compost, don't remove the supertunias. Just put the compost over them. Leaving the roots in the ground is really good for soil health. Have you thought about cover cropping?

Gardening goals! As for the shoes I HIGHLY recommend you bring your shoes in and keep them there black widows will crawl into your shoes nest and lay eggs. Even if you use your shoes often and knock them out you can not be sure they will get knocked out. The tiny black widows are the MOST venomous and can kill in less than an hour. It just is not worth it, we are in Ca., it part of life here in Northern Ca. especially it looks like you are in a more rural location so add scorpions and snakes to that list. :/

Beautiful raised beds. Regarding your cucumbers being bitter - it’s because you are not removing the male flowers before they get established. If you remove all the male flowers you won’t get bitter cucumbers. The male flowers just have a thin stalk behind them whereas the females have a bulge.
