Yes, you can pretty much do any pyraminx (or skewb?) method on it, I don't know the best one at the moment. It's also pretty easy to do it with no rotation, just look at the opposite color and turn the side.
I managed to figure it out myself. My method is just the 4 corners then a bunch of 3-cycles (that's what I call sledgehammers on the ivy cube), sometimes with setups.
I have two centres swapped. (Everything is solved, but apart from two centres). I have been trying to solve it for over a week. Every time, I can get it down to two centres swapped. I started to think it was impossible and from your video, it seems it is. Am I correct in thinking that if two centres are swapped (and everything else is correct) then it is in an impossible state?
I know this is a bandaged skewb, I have one, but is it still a bandaged pyraminx? All of the skewb algs work on it the same as they work on a skewb. But I can't see how it's a cubominx.
@R’ holy crap. I haven’t touched a cube in a year or two now. I did get my 2x2 times to like 8-9 seconds and 3x3 to 20 seconds average before I stopped to focus on school. I still did shit in school so I wonder what my times would’ve been lmaooo
Definitely not. First off, it's just a totally different puzzle in general, and there are a different number of colors on the stickers than on the original. There also are no tips, and the edges do not need to be oriented (making it much faster to solve than a pyraminx). Just look at article 3 of the regulations, you could use almost any one of those to disprove it.
im buying new cubes and im on a budget so trying to limit the number of cubes im getting, one of my options is the ivy cube, is it good? is it worth it? is it easy? help would be appreciated
I don't think so (?), but if there were it would be solved the same way as the H-perm (like on beginner's skewb). EDIT: There actually is, but again, it's solved the same way.
And, can you make a tutorial on cfop? I'm a beginner and struggling on f2l. You don't have to, but I think a lot of us (newbcewberz) would appreciate that. Thanks! P.S your vids rule.
Great, now all you have to do is learn how to finger trick an ivy cube which is a lot easier if you've learned how to finger trick a skewb, then you're all set
Well, it's supposed to be easier. That's like asking why there aren't cuts on each piece of a 3x3, because if it were a 6x6, then it would make it harder.
I never new how easy it is to solve the ivy cube :D
Hi ainsley 😂😂😂 nice profile pic oscar
@@jarloftamriel9359 😅😅😅
Ikr same, just got an ivy cube a few hours ago. And I'm like "oh no I will never solve this" XD
you spelled knew wrong idiot
Basically it is a sledgehammer cube
Dhruv Chawla every cube is a sledgehammer cube (especially squan)
Dhruv Chawla *skewb
thumbs up if you want the Ivy Cube to become a WCA event 😁😁😁
Yes
That would be too much like skewb. No offense.
The world record would be 0.34
its too easy to solve. I've solved in like 7 seconds or so
I don’t think it should, it’s way too easy
I learned the skewb 2 days ago with one of your tutorials and it made the Ivy cube so easy to learn too!
No algs=:)
A few algs=:/
Full OLL=:(
One look 2x2= .....
@@anseldejong me who averages 7 seconds with Ortega: :)
Who else is watching cause they are bored but don't even have one
I'm getting one.
I just got one today
i do tho
I have one
Only u
Thank you Z3. You tutorial got me third place in the world!!!!!!!!! I am only 10!!!!!
the best tutorial i have seen honestly
Thanks, learned how to solve the ivy cube by watching this once!
HOW?
Wa
Oh I forgot this existed
But from what I remember the algorithm is similar to a 3x3 in a way
I learned yesterday the 2x2x3 and this morning THE I Y CUBE YOU ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You make the best tutorials! I solved my skewb with the help of your video 👍😃
@@paarthvarshney3184 he has a seperate video of the tutorial on the skewb, theyre saying his video helped with that video
This is a very understandable video. It's easy to understand and follow the steps.
very helpful. you actually made sense unlike other people
thank you for teaching me how to build ivy cube☺...
Really interesting tutorial and fast solve. I might get an ivy cube, you have so much fun solving it. Thanks for the vid, it helped me a lot.
Thanks Z3Cubing! My record is 4.02 second!!!
thanks, first video that actually helped me solve a cube.
I was able to solve it before this video it is very intuitive
i watched you vid and solved it 3 secs later i scrambled it and solved it with no tutorial
thanks
I'm getting one of these tomorrow! Im so excited!
Thanks dir This Tutorial.....ITS very good
I know this is a old vid but listen all your how to solve vids help a lot and this one really works so thanks for making vids
A week = old?
Yea, really, I'm seeing this 7 yrs later! 😅@@Z3Cubing
Because of your videos it took me like 15 minutes to learn it
I learned how to solve the ivy cube on my own somehow, your final step was explained way better than I did tho 😂
lol i just solve it like a skewb
@@pyracrys0174 same
Ivy cube is super easy!
A tutorial that I can actually easy to memorize
Super helpful thank you so much
Thanks, you are great at explaining the steps.
Wow that was easy! I can solve it now! Thank u!😄👍🏻
Thanks!!!!! i just bought it yesterday now i know how to solve this cube
Thanks really helped now I can show everyone
there is an advanced method??
Also is there a way to do the algorithm with no rotation?

legoboyz3! thanks!
I use this and average 10 seconds, is that not fast enough?
Maybe?
Thank you! I only knew how to do the yellow and white side, but now I can complete it!
One of my favourite Non-WCA events!
Mine looked exactly like yours the whole time after I solved white
Jesus christ I solved the Ivy cube in about 3 hours. But I saw this.
I managed to figure it out myself. My method is just the 4 corners then a bunch of 3-cycles (that's what I call sledgehammers on the ivy cube), sometimes with setups.
Great Video! I hope i see you at Longmont cube open 2017!!!!!!!! I hope you have a happy new year!!!
Ahh it's so easy. Thanks!
Thanks for this tutorial!
he used to be lego boy z3
thanks this method was very helpful
Legoboyz3 just saying I got a shengshou 7x7 on Christmas I'm Gonna do a review soon
tysm! I can now solve a 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, and Ivy cube
It is actually very easy to solve this because I actually found this cube in my classroom at school and learned it within a few days
I love your channel, please keep making videos
You boy change my cubing lifee
If i'm not mistaken, you can get a Z Perm on Ivy Cube as well.
Yes, but that falls under the 4 center-switching category (it's done the same way).
I have two centres swapped. (Everything is solved, but apart from two centres). I have been trying to solve it for over a week. Every time, I can get it down to two centres swapped. I started to think it was impossible and from your video, it seems it is.

YourAverageCuber its a pyraminx without tips
Haxpo Every piece would move each other around without tips, but the corners dont
Haxpo Every piece would move each other around without tips, but the corners dont.
Haxpo it could be a Skewb also i would not be able to explain it cuz that would be really hard
Thank u it’s soo easy
great vid
do sledgehammer until opposite sides are done. if 3 middle unsolved, u perm with commutators. if 4, 2x uperm= hperm
Cool can't wait to get mine
Thank you so much
Thank you for the tutorial!
Add a thumbs up if you think you can complete the ivy cube
Good tutorial
Thanks you helped me solve my cube
Thank you so much bro
that was great!
So is it kind of like the pyraminx duo?
migo palang it's more of a pyraminx, since there is only 4 corners that act as centers
It is kind of like solving a Skewb
I figured out how to solve it on myself really easy, just came for fun.
if you know skewb then this is a piece of cake
Thank you This helped
Lego boy do u have any tips for me I average around 6-6.5 second on 2x2
I SuperJumbo03 I same I don't know how to get faster
I SuperJumbo03 I how long have you been doing it, and what method I want to average under 10 but I average around 16 seconds :/

Would this be competition legal for a pyraminx (if it seems like a stupid question I'm sorry I'm just not great at speedsolving)
Definitely not. First off, it's just a totally different puzzle in general, and there are a different number of colors on the stickers than on the original. When did you get your first speed cube and what was it?
It was the DaYan GuHong, and sometime in early 2014.
So THATS where my cousin went the other day!

Hi alex,
Are there any more advanced methods for ivy cube that i can learn to become faster at the ivy cube? Thanks
So, I assume there is no Z-perm?
I don't think so (?), but if there were it would be solved the same way as the H-perm (like on beginner's skewb).
EDIT: There actually is, but again, it's solved the same way.
ok, thanks, I just thought that because two U-perms can make a Z-perm so because U-perms are a thing, there should be Z-perms. thanks for the info
I like your videos but make sure to slow down a little bit cause on the last step it was hard for me to keep up😊
this looks nice
happu new year legoboyz3
What do you think of qiyis new scholarship program?
instead of the common and slightly uncommon case i got the rare case my cube was solved

quite a simple method. I think the reason I kinda struggle is because I get mixed up with the turnings.

who else felt like a genius after solving this?

Why aren't there two oval-shaped sets of grooves on each face, forming an X shape? Wouldn't that make it much harder, and give you more possibilities?
Well, it's supposed to be easier. That's like asking why there aren't cuts on each piece of a 3x3, because if it were a 6x6, then it would make it harder.
+legoboyz3! Yeah but that way at least it's at the same standard as a 3x3x3, and looks nicer.
Thanks
