I m n Indian and I dont know much about hollywood culture bt when I heard her , she is just outstanding. One more thing, the way , eyes of Michael used to stare her , no lady of this world , could made him crszy like this. Miss him so much.

Diana ranks alongside Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, The Beatles, Madonna & others as a true Icon & musical global legend...

she does, but ya forgot mick jagger- theyve both been out performing everyone else for 60 bloody years and are still doing it right now in their 80s, shes amazing, and a LOT better looking than old mick, haha.

Diana's voice in the 60's when I was a child was the first voice that captured me. Here voice was and still is unique. Syreeta Wright had a very similar style. There were more powerful voices but that petite cutie pie voice was and still is hard to resist, like sweetness to my ears. Her personal life isn't any of my business.

CookieWilliams What made Diana stand out from the other Supremes is that she had poise, presence, elegance, and a special kind of charisma that made her appeal to the masses. She had the true appearance of a lady, and that is something that you can,t conceal.

Diana is a perfectionist. At age 70 she can still draw huge crowds. Ppl talk about her weight gain. So what she is entitled after being super slim for decades and she still wows crowds when she walks onto the stage. A wonderful woman who has done it all with class. Her kids adore her that in itself speaks volumes about this woman. 5 kids and a awesome career, meeting kings and queens. wow. Boy George speaks highly of her. He too is a kind person with good taste.

Diana Ross inspired me to become a model when I was blessed to witness her and Billy Dee filming a scene from the movie Mahogany. Billy Dee's famous line in the movie motivated me to put my dreams on hold marry raise a family…Now I'm 'Coming Out' again...

Thank you theWizboy for sharing this post. I can understand Diana wanting to try something different because she probably felt too controlled up to that point before she left Motown. Her trying pop still had a soulful sound because it came from her roots. Yet, she did get a lot more criticism from her own community in America, just like Whitney when she started out in pop. At times the black-American community can be rough on really the only two major female pop artists that they ever had who were able to have universal mega-star power, although Whitney’s did not culminate to Diana’s level. While this was the precursor that would make Whitney feel unworthy & try to limit herself, it made Diana continue to move in a more universal manner & expand her success that she helped to produce, which made her richer. Diana tried to make everyone happy early on, but realized the only one that she could was herself. Whitney was stubborn & never learned this & tried to find this acceptance/love through Bobby Brown & then drugs. I don't mean to be critical, but there are many in the black-American community who feel as though you owe them something because you are black, but that which they require is not relevant to what and who you are essentially as a person & artist.

That was incredible. I've been a fan since the beginning... Steel Pier in Atlantic City, lucky enough to see her first solo in the Empire Room at the Waldorf Astoria, and still catch her whenever I can. Again, I thoroughly enjoyed this documentary..... thanks so much for sharing that.

the supremes hits are very good top hit pop songs for sure, but they also arent the most amazing songs youve ever heard in ya life that stand out above everything else- diana elevates them to a higher 'supreme' level with her beautiful sweet alluring sexy voice and incredible star charisma, gorgeousness , and performance etc. shes a mega star for a reason.
