Lauda said that that he hated James on track but outside they were in good terms. Years later Lauda helped Hunt to collect his act together when Hunt had became a drinking drifter.

Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen can be friends because Kimi poses no threat to Seb. Nico poses a threat to the title to Lewis.

Lewis is still kinda immature and doesn't value his friendships enough. Probably after 10 years when he retires he will realize what he did with Nico was wrong and he could have been so much better of a sportsman, team-mate and human being.
I just saw this video and thought the same. Lewis was too insecure to be honest about his feelings at the time. Hopefully he’ll mature and realize his own actions in breaking down his friendship with Nico and they can make amends.
I wouldn't buy into what Lewis is saying here. I have heard from a close friend of mine that pretends to dislike Nico, but in truth the two of them are longtime lovers. So it's all an act to cover-up their romance.
The difference in their upbringing makes it hard to compare the intensity of Lewis to Nico. I think Rossberg has made tremendous strides in the past two seasons, but natural talent and drive will always be a barrier.
+ChillzPanda No, that was Rosberg's mistake, Hamilton could have overtaken him without collision, but Rosberg cut him off. Forcing Hamilton off the track.
+poly waggot Hamilton couldn't overtake Rosberg at all (don't know which race you're watching). Hamilton saw a gap, and there was one. He went into the gap too early because Nico saw it and adjusted his race line. At that moment Hamilton had to brake but didn't and went into the grass (for which reason I still don't know) and loses control over his steering. Nico simply defended and Hamilton did a miscalculation. And watch the replays at any time, you will have a hard time finding an aggresive move from Rosberg where he forces Hamilton off the track. Meanwhile it was Hamilton who was way too aggresive.
ChillzPanda Uhhh, Hamilton had room, he had speed advantage over Rosberg, and would have overtaken Rosberg without collision, but since Rosberg cut him off during his acceleration, he wouldn't have been able to brake in time, thus hitting Rosberg, his other option was going on the grass, where he lost control, sure, Hamilton's move was aggressive, but Rosberg was the one who forced him to go on the grass.
+ChillzPanda man you need to read up on racing regulations on rules and what's prohibited. Changing lines when there's someone coming at faster speed than you is prohibited, it's not allowed in any motorsport at any level. You can change lines and stuff if the car behind you is not showing clear speed advantage / clearly of higher speed. Basically what happened was that hamilton got massive speed advantage due to Nico's error, and he was going to overtake Nico with flying colors (he was going to have some distance to Nico too, because he was going to achieve greater speed in that straight than Nico) if it wasn't for Nico's blocking maneuver. Blocking is prohibited, you have to give way for someone who's driving faster than you, and Nico did not give way, he blocked by changing his line. He caused the crash and should be penalized for his actions. Look it up if you don't believe me.
I don’t think Lewis was honest about how he can’t be friends with Nico because of coming from a different socioeconomic background than Nico. It didn’t hinder their friendship as kids. Sure Lewis was still raw from losing to Nico but he shouldn’t make fake excuses to justify his actions.

Absolutely right, will have to wait for Lewis to retire and for him to write a book on having to put up with the 'golden child' and having to race against his team too. Still, at least Team Merc now have 2 world champs driving for them. This might have been planned!!!

Arch 175 I don’t doubt that for a second, but he always says nico has the best of everything and I didn’t like he’s got a chip on he’s shoulder, I can’t stand Lewis I really can’t
The truth is, Lewis is a much bigger star, in and outside F1, he has fans around the world and Mercedes is gaining more popularity and new costumers. Where Rosberg was popular only in Germany. It kind of gives the impression that Lewis was chosen to stay and be Number 1, and Nico was probably pushed to leave Mercedes.
I’m an American. I didn’t know about Lewis any more than Nico when I started following F1 in 2019 (before Netflix came out with DTS). Rosberg and Hamilton both have social media presence. However, as a new fan, Rosberg love for F1 was palpable in his interviews and vlogs on F1, while Lewis seemed aloof and weird towards other drivers. That’s not to say Lewis is like that off camera. My point is outside F1, in the US, Lewis is not a big star. Like vettel, he’d get a late night interview after winning a championship.
Well, obviously you are a fan of Nico. In my opinion Lewis has grown a lot of popularity around the world. Unfortunately F1 is not popular at all in US, due to the huge interest in NASCAR, therefore Lewis is not considered to be a star in US.
+Jim Strickland Thank god that these sort of decisions are not up to some couch warriors such as yourself. The stewards issued the following ruling: “The incident concerned started when car 6 [Rosberg] dropped into an incorrect power mode, as set by the driver prior to the start. This created a significant power differential between car 6 and car 44 at the exit of turn three coming onto the straight, resulting in as much as a 17kph speed difference between the two cars on the straight.” “Car 6 moved to the right to defend his position, as is his right under [Article] 27.7 of the sporting regulations. Simultaneously car 44 as the significantly faster car with, at that time, apparent space on the inside, moved to make the pass. [Article] 27.7 requires the leading driver to leave room, if there is a “significant portion” of the car attempting to pass alongside.” “Car 44 had a portion of his front wing inside car 6 small fractions of a second prior to car 44 having to leave the right side of the track to avoid an initial collision, which may have led him to believe he had the right to space on the right. Once on the grass on the side of the track car 44 was no longer in control of the situation.” “Having heard extensively from both drivers and from the team, the stewards determined that car 6 had the right to make the manoeuvre that he did and that car 44’s attempt to overtake was reasonable, and that the convergence of events led neither driver to be wholly or predominantly at fault, and therefore take no further action.”
There was no doubt the stewards were going to make that ruling. I've been watching F1 since the mid 70's so l think l have a valid point and do not have to cut and paste to make my point like a couch warrior like you. My point when watching the replays is the 6 cut his line well short of what it normally would have been which later in the race l would have said that's racing. But a that point it was reckless and not necessarily the smartest of moves especially if he maintains his line and takes the corner normally he does not slow down and most likely defends his position anyhow. I will concede that it was not the necessary for the 44 to make that type of move that early in the race either but like your cut and paste defence states the 44 had a faster rate of speed than the 6. A perfect storm for a wreck.
Jim Strickland Ahh yes of course, since you have been watching it since the 70's, that obviously gives you the supreme right to decide who's at fault :) I had originally written something else but maybe better to stick to a more courteous exchange. I personally somewhat trust in what the Stewards decided on, rather than on your opinion based on watching the replays on TV - presumably sitting on a couch at that point? :) Not denying you your opinion of course. Fact is that ROS was allowed to defend - and the rules on defending are very clear, and that HAM was allowed to take the risk and go for it, and it didn't work out for either one. Did it make the race any less interesting- not for me.

There is a war going on between those two drivers. Lewis has closed the gap now and is playing for keeps. Good interview although slightly overdressed lol.
You have no idea what you're talking about. Hamilton and Vettel have genuine respect for each other. Vettel is also friends with Raikkonen, and he and Leclerc get along well - they stayed close during the break, and you can hear in his voice on the radio that Leclerc cares about him. Raikkonen is also friends with Giovinazzi. Norris and Sainz have become friends, and Norris also gets on well with Ricciardo - they should be very entertaining as teammates next year. In spite of their rivalry and the tensions involved, Ricciardo and Verstappen were friends, still get on, and Max has said he wants another teammate like him. Leclerc, Gasly, Ocon, and Hubert were all close - though things have chilled between Gasly and Ocon. All snotty big heads? Ricciardo? Vettel? Raikkonen? Bottas? Norris? Do you even pay attention to F1, or are you just bitter and jealous?

Everyone says nico is jealous about lewis, but lewis throwing the "golden boy" rich, F1 champions son, best of the best etc...
Doesn't sound jealous at all!
Rob H I don’t think the six time world champion who made it from the bottom is jealous of a hasbeen who runs a mediocre youtube channel
A six time world champion jealous of Nico?😂
Nico was an only Competitor/Revil at Lewis, all the others are only his "Waterholder" :-D
With as dull as F1 is to watch sometimes, It's always interesting/funny to see the drama between Lewis and Nico.
Every time they talk about each other you can tell they bite their lips and keep it as PC as possible. i can't wait for it to blow up one of these days.
Spanish GP was comical lol
Absolutely right, will have to wait for Lewis to retire and for him to write a book on having to put up with the 'golden child' and having to race against his team too. Still, at least Team Merc now have 2 world champs driving for them. This might have been planned!!!
Welcome to drive to survive
F1 is About Beat your own Team Mate
But still Lauda and Prost when they were championship rivals in 84 had a good relationship
A RELATIONSHIP IS POSSIBLE IF HE JUST ACTS NICE AND NOT MISERABLE
Good advice for Nico
He always uses about nico having money when they was younger
Dan Ward in Karting have a rich daddy is virtually the only way to rise into feeder series like formula Renault, because without money you can’t go karting it’s as simple as that

If Senna and Prost could be friends - so can these 2 - load of rubbish
@Chillzpanda, really? What replay did you watch? Hamilton had him period. Nico dove down for the block late and he knows it.
+Jim Strickland Thank god that these sort of decisions are not up to some couch warriors such as yourself.
The stewards issued the following ruling:
“The incident concerned started when car 6 [Rosberg] dropped into an incorrect power mode, as set by the driver prior to the start. This created a significant power differential between car 6 and car 44 at the exit of turn three coming onto the straight, resulting in as much as a 17kph speed difference between the two cars on the straight.”
“Car 6 moved to the right to defend his position, as is his right under [Article] 27.7 of the sporting regulations. Simultaneously car 44 as the significantly faster car with, at that time, apparent space on the inside, moved to make the pass. [Article] 27.7 requires the leading driver to leave room, if there is a “significant portion” of the car attempting to pass alongside.”
“Car 44 had a portion of his front wing inside car 6 small fractions of a second prior to car 44 having to leave the right side of the track to avoid an initial collision, which may have led him to believe he had the right to space on the right. Once on the grass on the side of the track car 44 was no longer in control of the situation.”
“Having heard extensively from both drivers and from the team, the stewards determined that car 6 had the right to make the manoeuvre that he did and that car 44’s attempt to overtake was reasonable, and that the convergence of events led neither driver to be wholly or predominantly at fault, and therefore take no further action.”
Not denying you your opinion of course.
Fact is that ROS was allowed to defend - and the rules on defending are very clear, and that HAM was allowed to take the risk and go for it, and it didn't work out for either one. Did it make the race any less interesting- not for me.
+Jim Strickland NO WAY. Hamilton is an idiot because he wanted to be first on the first lap.
Is it me or does it look extremely good in glasses :D

Having seen and almost felt the frosty atmosphere between Lewis and Nico after the British GP, this interview underlines what we all have been thinking.
