This guy doing the interview is superb.. doesnt rush through and lets him answer the question. more of this
I agree but he’s very monotone....
TheMadMonz You can’t make everyone happy
He is very good his Nikki Lauda interviews are incredible
Graham is the best interviewer there is
every interview i've seen of him a comment along the lines of this is far and away the top comment
His life story deserves a movie, similarly to Senna’s. He and his dad overcome soooo many barriers to succeed....beautiful to hear, it will be even more emotional when we see a movie in the future...
Agree, a movie similar to Rush but about Lewis Hamilton’s life/career would be dope
😊
He did his dad a favor actually. Now his dad can rest from all his hard work and enjoy the rest of his life. There couldn't have been any easy way to say "Dad I got this, you can relax now".Why would anyone want their parents living in hotel rooms constantly when they can now afford to retire and enjoy their life. The word "fire" sounds harsh but it's so they can have an even better relationship outside of business.I bet now is father is just dealing with Lewis when he visits rather than "Lewis Hamilton" F1 champion.
Relax? He started another company in partnership with Mclaren technology.
Well said
Yup, well said sir. What a dad he have.
Well said
His dad created a dynasty in his son and has secured the future of his family. His father can rejoice in that he created a son who is hugely successful and take credit for it. I'm in such admiration,
Lewis... what an amazing natural talent. No money, no pedigree. Go out there and thrash the snobs. Man need to make a movie about that.
No money?? He lived in a posh part of England in a nice house with a garage and went competitive go karting from the age of 6. He knows a bullshit rags to riches story sells. Complete Fraud. Nice hair transplant though
@@formula31ful you an alonso fan? Lol.
@@formula31ful I wonder where you got that one from. If I heard you or someone say this in real life I would sound real pathetic man. "Oh yeah he used to live in a posh english..." I would just walk away can even be bothered
@@formula31ful Oh yeah why do you hate lewis to that extent as if he did something personal to you which hurt
Truth hurts snowflake. Do your research.
I think I can hear Lewis' voice get a bit shakey, when he recalls how hard his father worked, and how they did well in karting together. Good on ya, Lewis! Although I'm much older than you, you're a hero to me!
Cheers from Orange County, Los Angeles!
I second this. Cheers from west coast Scotland.
I should also mention my Grandfathers here too, one of which was the 1960 Macau GP winner. A few heroes.
They were always the shitty kart showing up to the track...
@@ChampaBayBeast That just shows how good Hamilton is then lmao. He was the youngest world karting champ. So if his kart is shit, then he’s just that good.
I don’t understand what your comment is trying to achieve?
Very few people are lucky enough to have a dad like his. Great parents make great kids.
This interview makes me proud to be a DAD!! Respect to your Dad what a hero he is. I miss my Dad every day! May his gentle soul rest in heaven.
I have never, ever, seen this Lewis Hamilton before. I knew it was not easy for him but this whole interview made me saw something else. I may have changed my perception of him now.
This is who he really is but most people just see the media portrayal and photos etc. Then they assume many things about him. He's a pretty laid back and straightforward guy 😎
+F Al Thanks! I'm glad you feel we showed another side of Lewis. I appreciate you watching.
Change the video title .... its disrespectful to Anthony Hamilton
Lewis is the first and only black driver in a sport that is almost 70 years old. Add in the poverty element and you've got a major set of barriers to even get a foot in the door. He was completing and even beating the likes of Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen from day one. Hamilton is within two or three wins of supplanting Alain Prost as the second overall race winner. Just amazing.
F Al hes absolutely false !! a fake ! a fraud! a mediocre given the best tools to perform a job and has still struggled
I think Lewis is one of the honest and most colourful drivers & personalities of F1. He never backs down to answer the more personal or challenging questions.
Wish he would get back with you k ow who soon she is free now
Just drives dirty when he might not win...
@@Winterfellen This is bullshit ...
He's as fake as a pair of porn star tits.
@@Blafard666 2016 abu dhabi lmao
A very good interview from both people taking the TIME to let the conversation happen... even through difficulty ..and finally it works..
Great interview 👍🏼
I like it how you let Lewis speak without spending into his words and listening 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
That how a interview should be, great job
You hardly ever see his father at the races anymore. His brother is almost always there, but his father is noticeably absent.
id rather watch it from the tv too, dont want to travel all the time
He used to be at them a lot but these days I think he prefers not to travel so much. You do see him sometimes still. Think he was at silverstone last year
Looks like since 2019 they've finally got a lot closer again, still rarely at races but they hang out & play tennis a lot together now etc. Good to see
Maybe he has not been able to accept, his son moved way further than he could have imagined. Dad needs to figure that one out. He cannot control his son, any more.......He is now a world champion with new venues and opportunities. Dad needs to understand he helped making this man......but his job is done ! Should be the wisdom of all parents ; know when not to get in the way.
@@linanicolia1363 From what I understand, Hamilton and his father settled their differences some time ago and they are fine now.
it so sad that now (2021) he receive so many hatred. For me, he's arguably one of the best of all time, he shown his talent since his young age. Also, even tho he embrace his celebrity life, we never see him being caught in a scandal. He's a good role model for a young driver
I agree, I think people are salty that someone who had absolutely no help to get into F1 has become the best. It annoys them, and he ends up getting booed by crowds for no good reason.
@@LeonardoDiCapri-Sun i think they want Lewis to react the way they want him to react (causing bigger drama). I'm not his fans but people should stop step further into driver's personal life, let them rest ffs
Been my favorite since day one. Fantastic interview.
Best hair transplant ever
The speed took it all.
yo Bensinger, I genuinely LOVE your interview technique, very entertaining and actually very informative, great job dude :-)
+Jdgaf Thank you!
This had to be one of the hardest talks to have with anyone.
If my dad had to work 3/4 jobs and drive me around to get my career on track. I'd be cutting him a cheque every month of my life after we'd cut professional ties.
pretty sure lewis is making sure he's dad has enough money, probably some millions
Being Lewis' manager, he would have made a percentage of what Lewis was paid and that would be millions.
He's worth 240 million dollars and counting, and he's still quite young. I'm sure his whole family is sitting pretty.
PraetorianGuardsUK yes he did and does every day of his life
@King Kenny what the fuck are you talking about lmao. He "fired" his dad to let go of the pressure on his dad who'd been working for decades nonstop
Very good interview been watching 1 by 1 lol ...love to meet this guy been watching and following ever since he was on blue peter with a rc car ....keep up the good work greatvids...5x
Well done Graham! Very nice way of letting the guest open up. Hats off. First time I see you but I will watch more interviews for sure and I hope many interesting guests will choose you as their interviewer.
Thanks, Caspar. Lewis was fascinating.
Fantastic interview you are the best. Love you both .
Best interviewer alive #Graham Bensinger
I really liked this interview and what Lewis had to say. He's a humble person and really learned from his father and family how to be a good person. I can tell just by all his interviews a good size of his personality.
Hope you set up your dad for life as he's put in so much to where you are now. Bless your family.
Great interview. Good questions and well presented.
+rajid Thanks!
Lewis Hamilton and his dad are both Legends
It's a travesty when you grow up without a wise loving dad giving you valuable input.
I'm in that boat my friend :)
Not to worry, feminism solved everything and women can do everything a man can so you don't need a dad anymore.
theslimeylimey Keep telling yourself that lie
He's being sarcastic.
@@TheStockCarStig right over your head eh?
Man, you got yourself a like and a sub. Keep up the great work.
This chap is a really really good at interviewing 110%..
One of the best if not the best interviewers in the biz!
I understand his position 100%, he wanted a father plus he doesn't want his dad to work hard anymore. I know it's tough for some people to understand him no longer wants his father to be his manager but until you are in this predictament you will never understand.
What a story that his dad did for him. Dads are the best!
am i the only one crying? gosh, when he described about his childhood and how hard his father worked for him.. and all of it payed off and Lewis is the best in the game now. that just hit so close to home. his dad must be so proud. and relieved of his duties.
incredible. God bless him. what a man. and what a great dad.
7th F1:championships, that’s how Lewis repaid his dad.
What a Dad.......As Lewis says his Dad is the real hero LH is just in the lime light
Im so proud of that family, in the sense that they had not much money in a privileged mans sport, they were black, Lewis is mixed and when he said they werent always welcome at meets, you know it was a skin colour thing. His father sacrificed his own happiness for Lewis to be able to fulfil his talent and now look at them, its a really beautiful story and its why I still support Lewis! Hes a great of this sport and a very gracious person, He understands where he came from, who helped him and how it relates to his life and career today. Hes a down to earth dude, always thanking the team for their hard work in getting him a competitive car, thanks his fans for the support, its a rarity in the upper echelon of sports and entertainment.
And the house he lived in in Stevenage is now valued at more than £1m. He really did have it hard.
S2000Y sound bitter mate? I doubt they paid anything near its current valuation 🤫
@@stannykush1399 Not really, it's all relative. His 'slums' comment didn't really go down well with those living in Stevenage.
S2000Y yeah I wouldn’t call Swindon a slum so I can understand that
S2000Y Stevenage is within 20-30 minutes of London. Of course it’s getting expensive now. The prices of all houses within an hour’s train travel of London are a rip off now compared to the 1990s.
dad done a good job. time to take a back seat and enjoy the fruits of his labour. let boy be a man now
Most Americans , don't know anything about this guy, he grew up to be what I wanted , but my mom told me it was too expensive in the end. It's almost like Deja Vu watching and listening to his story. Someone finished the dream, good for you Lewis. And yes we can race and win also. NASCAR here we come!!!
Chicken noodle soup, bacon sandwiches and F1......what more could one ask for!
His father worked 4 jobs to support LH.
Father Hamilton deserves an epic retired life! ❤️
I would do the same with my father, let him rest and enjoy life , give all the best from this world and from me for building a great life
😔I hope he and his dad can recover and be close. His dad made so many sacrifices so Lewis could be successful. 😔
His dad needs to relax and enjoy his life. I’m sure Lewis knows what he’s doing, he’s a grown man and wants to make his own decisions. Plus, Lewis has made well for his family already .
@@williamduval9856 - 👍True 💝
You are so good looking and on the inside too the way you conduct yourself and you speak so beautifully. Great interview despite the touchy subject
Parents have to know when to let go ! Lewis is evidently grateful and appreciative of the work his dad did , as I expect he made it worthwhile to him, to enjoy his retirement . With all the money Lewis makes, he can have his dad living in total comfort and luxury ! and I expect he does. Time to move on. Take a back seat, dad, you did your deed !!!!! Now, enjoy your retirement.
He can't sleep because he saw that his dad wouldn't sleep working to get Lewis where he is! And it's respect! His dad instilled a lot and Lewis was ready to fly on his own. trusting that the values were imbedded in his DNA.
Lewis Hamilton talking about motorsports as a way for him and his Dad to bond made me choke up a bit; add to that the pre_race meal of a cup of noodle soup and bacon sandwiches shared at the back of the trailer with his Dad while using a gas heater for warmth is beautiful 😊
What an inspirational father. Hopefully, one day, Lewis can be an inspirational father too.
Amazing. The bond will renew. I see it
I suppose when you show your son how to build a life for himself, this might be the painful result. I hope your pain soon passes.
Well done Anthony! Take a bow.
Like so many father / son relationships, this one will take time to "come right." I sincerely hope this happens sooner than later so these two strong men can spend time both reflecting on the past, and looking to the future.
Mister Hamilton, you've raised a fine son.
The relationship and succes of Lewis and his dad can make good movie..i would pay 100$ to watch the movie😊
Well done indeed... I always wanted to know why/how that situation played out... It's nice to hear it from Lewis' mouth instead of some sensationalized article in a gossip rag... Thanks for the post...
Lewis hair did a better comeback then he did in 2018
💀
Top notch Dad, a true symbol of how fathers should be
He wants his dad to have a good life now and be a Dad and chill and have a Beer ,you can see he loves his Dad and what he did for him . His dad will never want again
To the Hamiltons , father and son I salute you .
I just love Lewis!
Beautiful. This young man is extraordinary. It's hard for us, parents, to let go; what we never have to let go of is the LOVE. Beautiful
You are blessed wirh a father like that Lewis. He was there for you to pave your road to succes. Don't let him down now.
On a separate note, I kinda don't like that it's not one constant interview in these highlights, but I like how it's separated. Of course, separating it like this drastically increases the profit from one interview, but it isn't as annoying as many ways people segment things on UA-cam.
This guy is so humble, glad he was so successful and sets such an awesome example for everyone!
And all those that looked down on them, are now looking up at them. Good on you Lewis and Dad. Firing his dad was difficult for both but hopefully they've healed from it. Love conquers all.
It’s not firing, it’s about letting Lewis and the Mercedes team making their professional decisions.
That tittle is disrespectful but i guess you have to clickbait am i right?
It's unbelievable Testament the love that a father has for his children same as a mother's too make a long short parents will do anything for their children in most cases
Excellent interview. That's a side of Lewis we seldom (if ever) see in the limelight. Good job.
Vettel vs Hamilton 2017!!! Pumped.
Wow great story the things father will do to help their children succeed
You trying to make me cry bro!
I hope he's treating his old man like a proper King.
4:50, I wonder if his RC model car racing experiences - specifically off-road/rallycross - were more cordial.
The amount of hate this guy gets. Fills me with so much anger.
sick hair piece brah
You know what you guys don't understand about Sir. Lewis Hamilton.
He speaks out loud on the track.
You do this by understanding the track your on and where you are at on that track at all times.
Sir. Lewis Hamilton understand how and where to position his car this forcing Max to error.
That's why he is the Black Mamba of F1.
CONGRATULATIONS
Sir. Lewis Hamilton 1st win 22 to go.
Peace
this man,where do I start
This will be a movie
It is very clear how difficult this question is to answer
What a great story...reminds me to hug n thank my parents when I see them
Lewis must be grateful because his father gave so much.
At a pivotal time in his life and career, Lewis took necessary steps to get himself to an even higher level.
I guess it is difficult to get your parents to a state when they declare, Okay you are on your own, free to do whatever you feel right, but if you ever need advice, I'll be there to support you.
1:47 Lewis's hair !
You are not on my team. But i really respect your performances.thanks louis
@@sey2sssoumar328 He is legit the only other black driver in the sport. So all other teams have white, Asian or Latin drivers. Makes me proud to think if the adversity he has faced in life to make it to the top. I think this person just likes the other team. No raced played from his sentence.

Great interview.
+Gitonga Kelvin Thanks, Gitonga!
His dad is also a 7x Champion and more in the future
There needs to be a movie on Hamilton . I know I’d watch it
His dad probably thought they'd be a team forever after they made it to F1, this must have devastated him
It was time. It’s tough to mix family with business. His career became a business. Sometime for the relationship to survive, it’s best for the parents to NOT be a perpetual manager. I’m glad Lewis and his dad came out the on the good side of the professional “breakup.”
Man that's how I wanna be with my sons, I really want to show them how to work hard and what the fruits of hardwork taste like and above those have a relationship where I'd do anything for them so they can understand what a father/provider should be like
Respect Lewis Hamilton and your Dad who believed in you!
People moan because he has the best car, but you have to be the best to be given the seat!
this man and his response is more than impressive . i remember some wise/inspired advice from a famous catholic priest /author about the greatest present you could give another was your presence .and that's what lewis has mastered and displayed here. complete authenticity no acting or playing a role. and maybe more importantly he'd do that with himself.he would have saved himself a lot of wasted time because he's humble [sees things as they really are and can state it whereas the opposite ,pride doesn't /can't see things as they really are so ,comes the inevitable fall ,when god/the universe/circumstances demonstrates that you've been having yourself on .]
Nice interview.
What happened to Hamilton's hair? He now has more on top than when he was younger.
Hair transplant.
$$$
For every Lewis father, there are 1,000s of others doing the same thing, working 3 or more jobs to try to help their kid race. We don't hear about those stories because they don't make it.
Good Man
how much management fees to his father?
Is that the 2015 car in the Background?
Love your interviews can't wait when you interview beyonce
I was searching for beyonce's dad interview and I ended up here.
Congratulations on your 6th world championship 2019
Its a good interview and Lewis's past is motivational
He must wear contactlenses driving that F1 machine... 🙈
Tim Grant either the visor itself has prescription like snowboarders or they're cosmetic glasses
He has laser vision so he wears glasses to protect Graham.
theyre just fashion glasses
Tell Lewis there's a movie in this story. Would love to see it
Lewis has really great hair implant!! (On the picture with his dad you can clearly see how he’s going bald like his dad)
