Maybe the insecurity mostly true for business context, but when it comes to selling private things I would do "take it or leave it" mostly for things I am not ready to waste time on. People will literally haggle for .20 cents off on a pencil in FB marketplace...
How do you deal with a confrontational person who is raising their voice and telling you what to do in a very hostile way in your first interaction? I tried to be calm and I said, it sounds like I did something wrong and then she proceeded to yip yap at me, my adrenaline was surging and I was very triggered but I did not want to match her level of aggression. How do you defend yourself and stand up to them and let them know that you’re not going to tolerate the way they’re talking to you, without meeting their level of hostility?
Not enough info here: What's the nature of the relationship? Teacher-trainee? Boss-employee? Coworkers? What's the background? Is she aware of your track record? Is it negative? Are you suppose to have the qualifications for this job, having asserted them previously? On the other hand, does she have a bad track record as a toxic person? Do people call her toxic or a sneak? With this little info, it's pruden of you not to escalate and match her aggression. That's smart. Dark personalities perceive that as a challenge (e.g. toxic personalities, narcissists, etc), so things tend to get ugly when you match toxic parity. If you can't remove yourself from the situation (or have her removed), then the most effective way is to keep track of her logical fallacies to ensure she stays on point, not deflecting from the core issue (e.g. if she resorts to Ad Hominems, ignore them and refocus on the issue at hand, especially if there's an audience!). Bonus points: if she IS a dark personality, you must communicate what's happening to all tangent parties, because narcissists almost always employ smear campaigns when they realize they can't control you, so make sure your reputation isn't ruined behind your back.

Jim Cam (author of Start With No) advises to do your best to always be able to walk out of a deal. If not, the other side has power over you simply by doing nothing.
