Yes! Worked for me. I was quoted $5,000 for a program for my elementary site. I asked if it was ridiculous for them to only charge us $500 and allow our district (7 schools) to pilot the program. I received a response within 30 minutes....$595 for all 7 schools!
If you haven't already realized what Chris Voss and the Black Swan Group have to offer, don't waste another moment. For 35 years I watched these negotiation dynamics in business. I didn't understand them and I did not practice to this degree to become better. I read all the "brain" books on cognition, human decision making and realized there is a science to how we think. This is a completely unsolicited endorsement - get the book, either from your favorite book store or the library. Read it. Read it again and take notes. Practice it. I am telling you Chris and his group know what they are doing, and this is all about making all your relationships better and making things work out for all involved! Truly the compilation of all the science and know how on how to collaborate and create amazing partnerships. Thanks, Chris. Never Split The Difference is my reference book for human interaction. Really great stuff.
Tactical Empathy - “Would it be a bad idea…” After 5 interactions with the other side, I just renegotiated our property lines and saved our future business expansion ability. I never would have been able to accomplish this without your coaching. Thank you Chris Voss!
I just sent a text to the buyer’s agent who’s been ghosting me ‘Have your clients given up on (the property address)?’ he called me right back. It worked. Lol
Tactical Empathy. Too good to be free. TOO GOOD. Already used that once today. "Is now a bad time to talk?" I swear the change in demeanor is palpable...
TACTICAL EMPATHY: it's fun to see my colleague's reactions whenever I ask them, "is it a bad time...? or "will you get mad...?" They freeze for a second or two, and they will look at me with this weird facial expression. Afterwards, they will answer, and it almost always works, but in the moments that it doesn't, it's apparent that they're not interested or out of focus. It probably fails because they might not feel heard or understood, so I need to work on my collaboration skills and active listening. THANKS, COACH CHRIS!
Tactical Empathy - Wow ! One of the absolute BEST training I’ve heard in my 20 years in sales ! I used one of your scripts immediately afterwards to someone who was ghosting me , and it worked like a charm !👍 Thank you for the value !
TACTICAL EMPATHY: Being 46 and having changed carreers, I'm finding myself banging my head against the wall while trying to reestablish myself. Your videos are helpfull and your no nonesence approach resonnates with my own. Keep it up.
TACTICAL EMPATHY! I am a old schooler "GETTING TO YES" person. We read that book in my college Buyer Behavior class. This is a complete upgrade and I can see value in it by just reading your book. Can't wait use these new methods.
Tactical Empathy: Get to "No" has fundamentally changed the cleanliness of my teenage boys room. Thank you for that if nothing else... but it does work everywhere... and you already know that. Thanks again.
Wow, just watched this video now. I then implemented one if the question for a prospective client that ghosted me someone months ago. Guess what! She called me immediately. I have been wondering why she ghosted my team after showing a lot if interest in our service. It turned out she had some business and personal challenges. I totally put my sales pitch on the back-burner and spoke to her purely as a friend, even gave her free tips to help her and encouraged her. At the end, she felt better and I am sure when she sorts out her issue, my business will be top of mind. Thanks for the video!!!
Tactical empathy-last point-being ghosted-having entire conversation going downhill-losing engagement. Love last point, after 16:15. (Whole video is great.)
Tactical Empathy: between reading your book, and accessing your fantastic content both on UA-cam and via the Black Swan website, my approach to everything I do in my personal and professional is shifting and improving on so many levels. It never stops. Every day brings another That’s Right moment
Mr. Chris Voss I just want to say thanks for the small bits of advice that has worked and with more practice I will get better. The statement at the end is "you will never rise to the occasion, you will fall to the level of your training" U.S. NAVY UDT
I highly recommend everyone pick up Never split the difference, I especially like the audio book version. I used No- Oriented questions while asking for a raise to great effect. Thanks for all the lessons on tactical empathy , Chris!
"Never Split the Difference" is a must-read, especially the audio book. Your success with No-Oriented questions during your raise negotiation is impressive! Keep it up!
I've read NSTD and I love that damn book. I came up with these and thought I'd share: Would it be…[ bad, a pain, a PITA, trouble, super-difficult, stupid, a bad idea, impossible, impractical, inconceivable, unattainable …] to..... Would you be [against/opposed to…](take an action)? eg. meeting tuesday afternoon, say, 2pm? would it be uncomfortable if I...([._____________ (brought my manager?) (gave you a hug?) (recorded this meeting?)] the s*** works.
I just listened to your interview with Lewis Hows. I just bought three copies of your book - one for each of my daughters and one copy for me. Thank you sir!
I got your book back in 2016 for a serious work crisis I had to solve. It helped wonders Each year I practice these techniques and have built a better mindset. This has totally rewired my brain. Now, every year I get better and understand more deeply why these work.
Tactical empathy - i just got into selling health insurance. Have prior experience selling other products. Usually its just trying to get time with potential clients, getting to know them, then show and tell of the various insurance products, asking them which product they want, answering objections, and if they agree, filling out an application. Its traditional needs-based selling. I need to recreate a sales process using black swan.
TACTICAL EMPATHY! I just finished "Never Split the Difference" twice after listening to it for the first time years ago. This book was so addictive and I'm glad to be able to get a few excerpts from the book on your UA-cam channel. Thanks, Chris! 🙏🏽
Tactical Empathy - brilliant, I’ve switched over to “is now a bad time to talk” with great success. Loved the book, but listening to the source is even better, thank you so much!
Tactical Empathy, I have read the book and seen Chris speak, but I really get a lot out of these videos. I think practice is the key to making it second nature. Still working on it.
Tactical Empathy. I've listened to this "course" twice and I'm downloading it to listen to it more frequently. Thank you Chris, your training is awesome, actually it not like anything else in communication skills.
Tactical Empathy.... great summarization in two words.... I have been applying something like this for a very long time and didn't really know how to word it so precisely, or even that I used no as a basis. I've really become good at the reconnection and it has always come down to starting by recognizing all of the issues that have caused the problems, addressing them and then getting a yes or you're right as a confirmation that this is what or why they had an issue.it directly creats a repor even if I don't have the best way to fix it at the time. By addressing every problem they have before they have to tell me let's them know we are on the same page and we can move forward with a clear direction. The no orientated questions is new clarity of concept that I kinda knew but it was more of a vibe feeling thing that I now can be more direct in its application. You are exactly right that it's easier for someone to give you a no then a yes. You are first recognizing there's a lot of factors for them to consider. You are then asking them to pull the line back from needing them to commit to dealing with all those things right now, and more of consider the possibility of weather those things could work out. It takes the wieght out of the decision and adds a recognition of that wieght.... which gives you more of a...(hard to word) ... credibility in regards to your intentions being to actually create a beneficial situation or agreement for both of you. Letting them know your understand thier objections and moving toward a shared goal. I believe you genuinely need to know that shared goal, or be shooting for it, or it's kind of a corrupted concept. More like manipulation... that's not to say that that kind of thing doesn't work, it's just not for me, it's a contradiction of who I am and it's a misuse of my abilities. Sorry for writing a chapter in the comment section.... I'll leave it there
Tactical Empathy - “Have you given up on?…” I have a meeting with my boss tomorrow about the direction my job is heading and I’m so excited to use this.
Tactical empathy I've been through the book at least a couple of times, and I've watched a lot of the videos. It's time to put this knowledge into action. Thank you to Chris, Brandon, and everyone at The Black Swan Group for getting this valuable information out there!
Tactical Empathy -Its amazing how working with others in Software projects especially from other countries, offices , backgrounds, is exactly like sales/ negotiation.
i use tactical empathy all the time, recently just listening to someone complain for 10min got me what i wanted and they got it off their chest. felt mutually beneficial.
I’ve read Voss’ book. This stuff works. For instance, I was once the only guy to be placed in another flight. All the other screaming SOBs got a night at a hotel by the airport.
Your book was a turning point for me. It allowed me to see the specific areas where I was failing in life's negotiations. I have shared your book with many of my friends and coworkers. Thank you.
Hey man, I am a fresher blockchain developer who has recently started a job, using Chris's techniques I was able to negotiate a better salary for myself, frankly way more than they were offering, I can't tell you the exact numbers but Thanks Chris
Tactical Empathy. You're right about the yes thing. I have been to many presentations where they espoused the value of getting yeses. You're no strategy makes a lot more sense and we're going to implement it right away!
Tactical Empathy: I will be implementing the "Have you given up" email starting today with a plan to summarize back to them their EP's and from their perspective - Thank you
Tactical Empathy: I have received tons of unexpected information from counterparties with no oriented questions. Still a lot of practice to further achievements, but great guidance! Thank you Chris, and thank all of the Black Swan Group for your generosity with the information.
Out of all the advice on here this is the easiest to implement and has immediate positive results. The only thing is it feels so unnatural to do. Worth it though.
Sent out “Have you given up upon your project”? No answer… I stopped short of sending a follow up Email after that. Silence, nothin’…( But on two other occasions (2 different prospects) I got quick responses .
I need to stop being lazy and apply these tactics, I could probably close more deals. My coach teaches negotiating as well, he applies it in his business and does very well for himself. He’s an open book to his business and negotiating, if your one of his students. So, I see first hand how effective it is.
15:00 YEAAAAHHHHH!!!! I've read about this micro agreement in Getting to Yes and in Influence (i guess) and thought "no... that's not true, i can easily say no after a bunch of yeses if i disagree with the question".
Tactical Empathy. One of these days I'm going to make time to talk with you personally. I'm certain that you will be fascinated with how I have applied your principles, and teach them, as a crisis counselor, but I'm 100% confident that you won't be at all surprised. We only account for maybe fifty some books sold and a lot of views and likes, but you have changed lives that you have yet to learn about. Keep it up, and thank you all.
You know Chris got his start doing crisis counseling aka suicide hotline volunteering right? The fbi took their skills from the crisis counseling and Carl Rogers. What is nice is that he breaks it down for lay people to understand who don’t have that experience like you and I do
Chris this is absolutely brilliant! I have watched this over and over again and have completely changed how I started my opening conversation and ultimately will lead to more closes!! Many thanks! Your content ads tremendous value.
Tactical empathy! I read your book or listened to it actually a few years ago. I got what I wanted at the time and then forgot about. I have challenges before me and now I am going to put these methods into play daily so I will be Re listening and relearning the techniques! Thanks for the videos!
Im gonna try this one. i usually go : "hi, im ..., and i work with this---. Have u got this service lately?" No yes/no question. got a few talks but can always improve.
TACTICAL EMPATHY: OMG I found about You this week and I can not thank You enough for your video’s. I have a family situation that this is so going to help me with. Thanks and much love 🙏💗💓💜
Tactical Empathy: I have been trying to convince my wife to watch this video in order to help her at work. I used the "No oriented questions" to convince her to watch and share with her coworker. Hopefully she will see the humor. 😅
Tactical Empathy - “Have you given up on” works AMAZING at getting a response when they were otherwise ghosting you. And the first time you do it, you may be surprised at how quick you get a response. It’s actually hilarious!
Tactical Empathy. I love his book and the philosophy of Mr. Voss and the Black Swan Group. It is so helpful in my career as well as in my personal relationships.
TACTICAL EMPATHY: Been using this to solve interpersonal relationship issues and to get people to respond positively to me. Unfortunately, I'm still a rookie and am failing to successfully continue the conversation or close the deal. I can get my foot in the door but I can't seem to pull off the close. For example: Failing to nail the job interview to get an offer letter.
I took a course on sales in which they taught you to use buffers such as: "I'm just curious..." or "I'm sorry, I don't meant to bother you....." Therefore I am wondering if these would work with the proposed questions. For instance: "I'm sorry, I don't mean to bother you, I'm just curious, is now a bad time to talk?" "I'm just curious, is now a bad time to talk?" "I'm sorry, I don't mean to bother you, is now a bad time to talk?" "I'm just curious, would it be a ridiculous idea to......." "I'm just curious, have you given up on...." I'm curious to know what others think.
Tactical empathy: Thanks for walking through these and giving such great examples to connect them with. Already see a handful of ways to use these in our sales and marketing efforts.

Hey! Great list! Thank you for sharing it, keep up the good work!
What do we say after they respond no
is it too much to ask for you to….
Can’t believe that I’m starting to get 30% response rate after being ghosted for weeks 😂😂. Voss, you’re a discovery for me.
He's the Godfather of negotiations. Lol
TACTICAL EMPATHY: “is now a bad time to talk” has opened many collaborative doors for me. Thanks so much to the whole team!
Use the phrase many times daily!
@@chuckgravity7616 I will try even with mad people.

At 2x speed he sounds normal. I love Chris Voss. Changed my life.
Tactical Empathy: such a knowledgeable human being, Chris Voss
Tactical Empathy - “Would it be a bad idea…” After 5 interactions with the other side, I just renegotiated our property lines and saved our future business expansion ability. I never would have been able to accomplish this without your coaching. Thank you Chris Voss!
So tactical empathy from the book means to "INTENSELY listen to each word" that your counter-part is saying to "drain the swamp"
Congratulations! Glad our coaching helped. Thanks for being part of our community!
I just sent a text to the buyer’s agent who’s been ghosting me ‘Have your clients given up on (the property address)?’ he called me right back. It worked. Lol
I’m about to use this on my bff realtor who is bit upset at me and ghosting as well…allowing him to sell my house but not be my buyers agent
It's great to hear that it worked. Keep up the good work!
Tactical Empathy. Too good to be free. TOO GOOD. Already used that once today. "Is now a bad time to talk?" I swear the change in demeanor is palpable...

TACTICAL EMPATHY - Asking 'No' questions is a game changer!!

Hi there! Thanks for your support. Keep up the great work!
Hello 40s peeps 😂
TACTICAL EMPATHY! I am a old schooler "GETTING TO YES" person. We read that book in my college Buyer Behavior class. This is a complete upgrade and I can see value in it by just reading your book. Can't wait use these new methods.
Love it! This book is a game-changer, you'll find so much value in it. Can't wait for you to try the new methods!
Tactical Empathy: Get to "No" has fundamentally changed the cleanliness of my teenage boys room. Thank you for that if nothing else... but it does work everywhere... and you already know that. Thanks again.
Tactical Empathy; Changed how I talk to people, Amazing how a simple change in how you ask a question can change your world
Wow, just watched this video now. I then implemented one if the question for a prospective client that ghosted me someone months ago. Guess what! She called me immediately. Tactical empathy. Even though I began with Never Split the Difference in 2019, the lessons never get old, there's always more to absorb.
Tactical empathy - used ‘have you given up on…’ to restart a conversation that died nearly a year ago and got full buy-in from my contact. Brilliant!
Tactical empathy-last point-being ghosted-having entire conversation going downhill-losing engagement. Love last point, after 16:15. (Whole video is great.)

I've practiced them already in my negotiations, not a difficult ones, but the ones that matter, and every Q got the answer I needed. It's a magic!
Tactical Empathy. Applying Tactical Empathy with Success was great. Sandy, Derek and Troy are very effective teachers.
Great job with Tactical Empathy! Keep it up.

I highly recommend everyone pick up Never split the difference, I especially like the audio book version.
I used No- Oriented questions while asking for a raise to great effect.
Thanks for all the lessons on tactical empathy , Chris!
Can you give example like
I like the audio book too but I wish Chris Voss narrated it himself! The existing narrator isn't bad but just not the same.
"Never Split the Difference" is a must-read, especially the audio book. Your success with No-Oriented questions during your raise negotiation is impressive! Keep it up!

Hey! Thanks for being here and putting that knowledge into action! We appreciate your support.
Was trying to access to something. As soon as I asked "Would it be absurd to get access..." Things happened. It's like magic.
Thank you for paying attention to humanity like no other.

Tactical empathy. This is the way. Thank you for the great content Chris!!! I need to work on my “we” vs. “you”. 🙌🙌
Awesome! thanks for the support. Keep working on that "we" vs. "you" approach. You're doing great!
1. Is it a bad time to talk. 2. Is it a ridiculous idea... 3. Are you against... 4. Have you given up on...
Thank you for sharing your tactical empathy.
I used these methods for some time now and I have to say it’s very effective where I work.
Tactical empathy! I read your book or listened to it actually a few years ago. I got what I wanted at the time and then forgot about. I have challenges before me and now I am going to put these methods into play daily so I will be Re listening and relearning the techniques! Thanks for the videos!
Hi there! Applying the techniques daily is key. Check out this video for a more in-depth answer: ua-cam.com/video/MUYnfFjwO24/v-deo.html

Tactical Empathy...No-Oriented Questions are golden! Thank you to the Black Swan team for the value you bring!
Tactical Empathy.... Gratitude!
Tactical Empathy!
Saving and changing lives 🔥🤝🔥
Elegantly succinct and snappy presentation of these keen observations and techniques. Superb.
Tactical Empathy. Mr. Voss, thank you for this video, and all the other videos you and your team post online.
I took a course on sales in which they taught you to use buffers such as:
"I'm just curious..." or "I'm sorry, I don't meant to bother you....."
Therefore I am wondering if these would work with the proposed questions.
For instance:
"I'm sorry, I don't mean to bother you, I'm just curious, is now a bad time to talk?"
"I'm just curious, is now a bad time to talk?"
"I'm sorry, I don't mean to bother you, is now a bad time to talk?"
"I'm just curious, would it be a ridiculous idea to......."
"I'm just curious, have you given up on...."
I'm curious to know what others think.
Tactical empathy indeed! Thank you Chris. The techniques you share are absolute gems!

Thanks for walking through these and giving such great examples to connect them with.
Already see a handful of ways to use these in our sales and marketing efforts.
