That’s another great way of framing it, thank you for sharing. I think the principle is the same, giving them all of the information they need to make an informed decision about the product
No way Sean; dude I remember seeing your videos over COVID and finding such a great pride in the way you were tackling it, and the honesty through your mental health during that time... and now I see this?! What a ride. What a wicked place to be in life, congratulations man you deserve it! I need to hit that toolkit and get myself out there too! Hopefully see you on the road someday :)
I think creating a book would have great value in long term. People may just see your work regularly if you leave a copy in a public space like waiting rooms etc
Hey Sean, I have a question about photography books specifically. How do you decide what photos to add to it? For example, you take photos for a brand that you personally love, can you add those? Or are you adding only photos you took "for yourself"?
Thanks Sean for the great video and honest breakdown. Can you give some suggestions on where to start on learning digital marketing? How it was for you and what do you find as efficient way to go now, from perspective of already successful business? Thanks!
Awesome vid Sean! Definitely think a video for photographers and how to score clients would be helpful! P.s. came here from the email so that strategy defo works ;)
Hey Sean, I am a new subscriber. Looking to get my feet into being full-time and working remotely, traveling or being a nomad. Been feeling stuck and burnt out in the west here so I will be using your channel as a course. Cheers
If you’re in a foreign country, on visa, visiting; how you setup as a business ? Don’t they expect you to have a business license , pay income tax? I’m wanting to travel and photography as well but I’m. It sure of the structure and how tax structures work
If you’re in a foreign country you should definitely look into the local laws if you want to operate as a photographer. Some countries it’s very difficult if not impossible if you’re not a citizen or resident, but others do have visas available. However, generally speaking it’s common practice to do jobs here are there on a tourist visa. But I wouldn’t set up base somewhere and just work locally without a proper visa.
That was some really valuable information, Thank you! Loved your video and loved your workshop but as much as I would really love to begin a journey with your tutoring, your course is too expensive for a mere student like me😂 Are there any alternatives for your finding freedom course?
It is really helpful to know this as, looking from the outside in it can seem a bit mysterious how travel photographers sustain themselves financially. Thank you for sharing!
How did you adjust for the economic differences from the US to Thailand. The prices that you can charge to clients especially the smaller restaurant cafe type clients?
I'm a photographer in Kentucky, in 3 years I'm retiring from my factory job and I'm wanting to take my photography on the road. Can you give me any advice on doing so?
man, it's been very difficult for me. I started photography since '09 and i was never really thriving. sold my camera last month and have been contemplating of quitting.
Very cool video! How do you manage to get paid abroad? You are sending them invoices? Because some countries have some strict rules about working in their country (work permits etc) How do you cope with that? :)
Valid question for sure. It’s all a numbers game. If you have a following of 10,000 and 1% buy, that’s 100 people. You might not buy, but others do. If you can solve a problem for someone then your product has value for that person.
Digital work is legal as long as you’re not working with Indonesian companies. In regards to photo jobs, there are business visas available. I have a business registered in Indonesia and the process wasn’t overly difficult to set it up.
Hi @Seandalton Thank you for sharing and posting such amazing content and videos. You really provide valuable insights. I want to ask you about NFT’s and if you feel like it’s a good thing to be spending time on ?
Hey Jennifer, thank you! And great question. I personally don’t think NFTs are worth focusing on right now. Time is valuable and client work will give you the most bang for your buck early on.
Many moons ago I was taught to shift the focus from selling to people to ‘allowing people to buy’
That’s another great way of framing it, thank you for sharing. I think the principle is the same, giving them all of the information they need to make an informed decision about the product
Oooo I like that :) thank you 🙏

P.s. came here from the email so that strategy defo works ;)

Hi Bro! Thank you for this informative video on the life and work of a full-time photographer.
That was some really valuable information, Thank you! Loved your video and loved your workshop but as much as I would really love to begin a journey with your tutoring, your course is too expensive for a mere student like me😂 Are there any alternatives for your finding freedom course?
Really great vid man

Thank you Miguela, appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment my man 🙏🏼
How do you figure out how to price your work?
Very good advice thank you Sean
Absolutely Ricardo, thanks for watching man!
How can I sell my pictures ? Though I am still learning about photography
How do you get models to do free shoot for you so that you can get a income
Make sure you have a business visa is you are working in other countries
Congratulations and thanks for sharing!

Can you insure your equipment as a freelance photographer e.g if it gets lost or stolen
Absolutely! And I recommend it
Hi, do you have any of those books left?
Hey Jason, unfortunately I don’t. Plan to start working on another book soon though!
So are you disclosing that you’re making a commercial for Sony if they pay you to feature their camera on your channel?
Yes, you would disclose this. UA-cam makes it easy, there’s a box you tick that says the video includes paid promotion
Oh man I misread it for a second as a "full time traveler photographer"
This may sound naive, but who are these people purchasing digital products? I have never purchased a "digital product" in my life other than presets?
Valid question for sure. It’s all a numbers game. If you have a following of 10,000 and 1% buy, that’s 100 people. You might not buy, but others do. If you can solve a problem for someone then your product has value for that person.
How do you work in Bali? They're extremely strict with working visas :(
Digital work is legal as long as you’re not working with Indonesian companies. In regards to photo jobs, there are business visas available. I have a business registered in Indonesia and the process wasn’t overly difficult to set it up.
i wiil study fotogrfer from your advice
This is the most honest video I watched about photography income. Thank you for this!
I love photography job I do for my self same time can you help me with
One thing I’m certain of, is that I don’t want to do weddings.

I just think certain people in life are luckier than others
Look is not something that just happens. Much of luck is generated by preparedness and perseverance.
