How to Attach and Use a Ruffler Foot Attachment
Вставка
- Опубліковано 25 сер 2024
- The ruffler foot attachment allows you to easily sew ruffled trims and gather fabric. In this video, I'll show you how to install the foot, how to make a basic ruffle trim, how to sew a ruffle onto another piece of fabric in the same motion, and how to estimate how much fabric you need to make ruffles of a certain length. #craftcoreDIY

I’m 74 and been sewing for about 55 years. I’ve owned many different machines over those years and had a ruffler foot for most of them. To the best of my recollection, your video is the first one I’ve ever watched to give the math formula for calculating the yardage requirements. Thank you so much!
This is the only video I’ve seen so far that actually shows calculations.
Excellent video, I watched a couple of other videos about ruffler feet, but not one bothered to include the math formula, THAT is a major time saver!! Subscribing!!
BEST attachment video I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been looking!
I ve this ruffles foot from my mother,it's almost 80 yrs old or more..My mum is almost a 100.It's a bit rusty.Does not doing very well. But i will try again until i got it.Thks for the video.
Awesome informative video ty
Hi, Thanks for providing the formula, you are the only one doing that ! Do you know what the small spring pieces do where the needle goes through the fabric, there is a small cross point screw in it from the top ? Mine will not stitch the ruffles into place so, everything else seems to work as it should though. so I was wondering if that part can be adjusted.
Nice video...Thank You 😊
Thank you so much for teaching me about this one! I have a variety of feet, and some of them i have no idea what are used for at all. My vintage singers, one 66 and one 99 are handcranked, both came with some feet.. so the ruffler i have two of. And now i can use it :) Thank you very much !
This is perfect! I needed a video for my Featherweight!
Excellent tutorial. Thank you.
So helpful! I just got a ruffler foot and it didn't come with instructions. This video really helped me understand in an easy way how to install and use it
Thank you, I couldn't figure out how to use my ruffler as I lost the instructions.
Just bought the ruffler attachment to make a crib dust ruffle so I wouldn't have to gather the skirt portion the old fashioned way - by hand. Your video is the only one I've watched (and I've watched several today) that gave the formula on how much fabric to buy for the project when using this attachment. Thank you so much!
Nicely done, clear instructions, helpful visuals.
Thanks for posting this. I'm trying it now....
thank you so much for your videos on the 301 you have helped me so much . i am teaching myself to sew with the help of your videos thank you 🥰
Well done
Great tutorial!how could I sew a top with 2 ruffles of different width which are then joined to the upper top?
Very informative! Thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching! ✨
Great video!
I have now worked out that the problem is that the operating lever which fits around the needle bar is not being moved UP enough so the ruffle forming arm is not moving forwards enough. Maybe the attachment I have is for high shank machines so I have ordered another one which is advertised as for a low shank. failing that I will have to try a modification to the actuating arm.
Thank you! nice
Hola acabo de comprar una makina igualita podría aser un video de como desmontar el cangrejo xk tiene hilos atorados gracias
I have a singer 115 do you know where to get attachments for these older machines? I have the ruffler and straight attachment
Need more of a visual
is there a rufflet with a right hand thumb screw attachment? my white 1919 doesn't work with ANY ruffle foot I've tried
I want this type clips
Oh, Lord! How do you know all of that? Just by reading the Manual? I am from Brazil and could never reach those steps. Also, the Engineers at Singer were amazing! Many thanks!
Yes! For me I used the manual for my Singer 606 for reference, and just trial and error as well. I hope you got yours working!
I agree, the engineers are amazing! 💜
Please ma I really don't understand the formula you use , what the meaning of Test length. It's very urgent ,ma I need your Reply, Thanks.
My foot wouldn’t catch the fabric is it a certain type of fabric have to be used
Make sure you've placed the fabric under the ruffler blade but over the separator blade. You can see the position at 4:26 in the video. Try on some basic cotton fabric scraps to test instead of your material. What kind of fabric are you using?
Can I use use this for normal white Merritt machine... please reply me...
Sorry just seeing this message now. This particular ruffler foot should attach to any machine that uses low shank attachments. I'm not familiar with the Merritt machine so I can't really advise.
I cN get fabric to go through on Zero but on 1,6 it bunches just before the needle. What is happening?
i always broke my foot.
from over use?
Oh no! What happened?
