    A little suggestion, please use fabric and thread that is easily seen by vision impaired people. I have no idea what you are doing because I cannot see it.

    Thank you. First time I have seen the these-the bias, gathering, and piping feet. They are definitely on my shopping list.

    There seems to be a trend for zippers to be visible in clothes these days and they look so ugly. I can’t help thinking it’s because people are self taught sewists and/ or just not wanting to take the time to install them properly. ( my pet peeves are poorly installed zippers and plaids and striped seams that don’t line up properly). I love invisible zippers and I love a well installed zipper.

    I have several different sewing machines (Brother, Janome, Singer), do i have to buy seapare feet for each of them? that's a lot of money... Also I see generic presser feet on Amazon all the time, are they bad if they're not branded?

    Thanks Stefani, lovely video. A quick question about the gathering foot - can you adjust the gather? How do you know that the gathering will fit to wherever you are attaching it to? Do you just cut extra long strip of fabric and then cut off the extra?

    • @StefanieSchoen
      @StefanieSchoen  5 років тому +3

      Great question Irina! So, it will gather more with the larger stitch you use, so thats good to keep in mind if you don't want it to gather as much. You can also pull on it a little as you're sewing to separate the gathers more, and then if you leave a long thread tail you have a little room to gather more or less, but not the whole way. Its definitely better for pieces that you can gather first, but it works for set patterns as well, I just recommend playing with it on a few practice strips first to see how much it gathers!

    • @StefanieSchoen
      @StefanieSchoen  2 роки тому

      Yes keep the zipper open when you sew it, so that the zipper foot can grab and sort of 'fold' the tines as it sews. hope that helps!

    I want to buy this machine for my 9 year old granddaughters,do you think she will be able to master this machine.She hand sees for her dolls and is very very interested in design and is very artistic.Could you send me your opinion about her ability to master this machine and it’s suitability for her.
    Kindest regards

      She can start getting the feel on scrap material. It sounds to me like she's capable, just show her basics and the stitches and she'll probably take off in 6 months or so.

    • @dreamingrightnow1174
      @dreamingrightnow1174 2 роки тому

      I would start with letting her practice a light touch with the pedal and how to hand wheel through tight spots.

    What's up wth the audio? There's an echo or a buzz or something. Very distracting.

    • @nannyval
      @nannyval 2 роки тому +1

      I only hear a very clear voice and the sewing machine. Are you sure it's not the machine you hear? I found the sound of mine disconcerting when brand new. Foot rising/ dropping (echo maybe) and auto thread cutter etc.
