Oh you've hit another one of my favourite bands here. For something a little more upbeat by these guys I'd recommend something from the album 'Phosphene Dream', probably the music video for 'Telephone' or 'Haunting at 1300 McKinley' or the epic finale from that album 'The Sniper'. So many great songs in their catalogue though, 'Better off Alone' and 'Bloodhounds on my Trail' are another 2 great songs off the album this one is from, although that could be said for basically any song off this album really. This is definitely a band worth diving deep into, checking out some live performances as well, very exciting.
Thanks Conesy!
They are pioneers of the Austin Psych scene, I believe they founded Austin Psych Fest.
Cool fact: The Black Angels hold an annual psychedelic music festival here in Austin (their home) and the festival was King Gizzard's first ever USA show back in the early 2010s.
crazy cool connection
They were performing I think the day before I got to see Gizzard. I would've loved to see them perform this song! Another band i suggest checking our is Acid Dad, specifically "Djembe" from their live Levitation Session, its a pretty sick jam track. Levitation has a whole rabbit hole of great psychedelic bands that you'll be sure to love.
Ohhhh. Thank you for this 👍
The singer is making me think Doors
Totally Sue I’ve never thought of that
Be sure to listen to "Currency". The studio version sounds heavier. Great group.
Thanks for the suggestion 👍
I describe this album as Jefferson Airplane meets Black Sabbath.
lol. Thats a hell of a description
@@secondhandreactions Haven't heard it in a decade probably, thanks for reminding me about it.
🎯
Ohhh I liked this!
Yea me too !
Clay I know you’re an All Them Witches fan. Do you know most of their discography?
Yea. I’ve listened to everything I could find.
@@secondhandreactions Ok nice. I listened to a few songs over the past few years mainly Acid Face and When God Comes Back, never really decided to dig deeper, but now I dove super deep and like each song is uniquely great. That band fucking rocks so hard. Nothing As The Ideal is awesome. Bakers Dozen is so dope. Each album is SOLID
@@HollisLopez26 Couldn’t agree more. They are so diverse it’s hard to tell anyone that hasn’t heard them yet where to begin. I love the vibe of the band, lyrics, and vocals. Mountain and Charles Williams are 2 of my favorites. Also Alabaster, bulls, am I going up, internet… man they may all be my favorite. Lol. I love that band
@@secondhandreactions Yeah those are dope. Alabaster on "Live on the Internet" Rips. That live album is so good. Saturnine and Iron Jaw, Diamond. Blacksnake Blues shakes my whole house on my dual 12 inch speakers. lol yeah same, I could just keep listing songs that I like but, you know the deal.
@@HollisLopez26 I think when I first found them I didn’t listen to anything else for like a month. Lol
This is a great album, the rest of their albums I'm not a big fan of. This WHOLE album is really good though.
