That reminded me too horribly of John's words inside the tube cabin/bomb in BBC Sherlock. As someone who practically grew up with the show, I think people truly underestimate the tragedy that followed Sherlock's alleged death; To both of them.
I am so sorry for what you're going through. Grief is rippling to the soul in a crushing way. It changes people. I've felt grief, and it feels horribly like falling apart as though you're made of sand. But my teacher used to tell us something; "When people lose someone, it might seem that they've lost them forever. But as time passes, they will find whoever they've lost deep within themselves."
In the words of a fandom you so dearly love and made us love tenfold as well, "The ones that love us never truly leave us."
