The way maleficent's kiss woke Aurora from the "death", is similar to how Aurora's tears rebinded her to life.
I raised my ex best friends daughter from birth till she was 2. I was in the delivery room while my ex best friend gave birth, my friend broke up with her ex and was too “ upset” to raise her so I did and I did EVERYTHING I could and more for that little girl, through the night feeds, tantrums, teething,when she was sick, every second I was with her I loved her. I’m real proof that carrying/delivering a baby don’t always makes you a parent. What makes you a parent is you stepping up to the responsibility of raising a baby. ❤️

Exactly!!! I loved this whole perspective. When I watch the 1940s Sleeping Beauty, I think of it as Prince Phillip's Mother's perspective which she quoted in this film.

The relationship between Maleficent and Aurora is so special. They really are mother and daughter. Maleficent raised Aurora as her own. Protected and cared for her. I cried when Aurora said "you're my mother." Maleficent face softened
I think Maleficent wanted to hear that for so long that when she said it Maleficent knew Aurora would always take her side , this movie was about testing their relationship & in the end a mother always fights for her daughter .

Being a parent isn't just about carrying a child and giving birth to the baby. It's raising that child and what you give to that child.

She did it because she wanted Maleficent to go after Aurora and leave her alone. While she's not on Maleficent's watch, she'll sneak in the castle to hide and be safe. In her surprise though, she saw Fey everywhere and then she bumped into Borra and got scared
i love the visual imagery when aurora rises from the ashes with maleficent behind her, as if maleficent is warning that anyone who messes with aurora will have hell to pay 💜
All other children were terrified of Malifisant, except her own daughter. I love that they had to use her daughter as the younger Aurora because so many others were terrified looking at her.

Maleficent was betrayed, and in sheer anger she wanted her backstabbers to suffer, before realizing that she was being the villain by cursing a child who had no word in what her family did. She looked after the one she cursed, and realized how shes nothing like them, regretting her cruel curse which she tries to take off.
I prefer Maleficent over the original Sleeping beauty, people dump on it because its one of the live action movies which also started up what Disney is currently doing, but really y'all should look aside from that and look at how the story is pretty great really.

This proves that all villain are not evil. They are just broken. At first she was betrayed by Stefan and lost her wings. But Aurora again helped her to get her wings back. No love exists more than a mother's love.

I love this story more then the origenal story. To me this made more common sense with the true love kiss. The love of a mother. I love both stories.
Who else here realized that maleficient is also a victim of her own curse. Remember these lines?
"The princess shall indeed grow in grace and beauty, beloved by all who meet her", so the time that she met aurora, she already loved her.
Though that may be true, I also feel as Maleficent simply felt something different with her, like she wasn’t worth the hate she gave Stefan, it’s rather beautiful.
It kind of shows that she couldn't bring herself to punish an innocent child for the crimes of her father and that, even though the humans feared her and made out that she was evil, she was more loving, protective and forgiving than they were.

this love story between Aurora and Maleficent makes more sense than the Disney cartoon version. Love is not just something that pops up one day, it a feeling that grows overtime, and the more time you spend with someone who care about, the love grows deeper as well. Which is why now, when I see the cartoon Sleeping Beauty as an adult, it really doesn't make sense for Aurora to fall in love with the prince all of a sudden. I understand she was attracted to him, but that doesn't mean that she has to love him right away.
Anyways I like this love relationship better than the cartoon.
