Well, this is the answer to my long time question. It was in 1978 when I first tasted Budin. Mrs Divinagracia then later called Nanay Budin. She was the one who introduced the special desert from Tayabas in the boarding academy in Lipa, Batangas where I went to. We always look forward for her arrival. It was a delight to see her with her big basket (bangkwang) especially on fridays because we have something to bring to our family a pasalubong during off-school week-ends..
Yes the cassava cake of Quezon is the best cassava cake in the entire country. For a very cheap price of only 30 pesos, you will absolutely love it!!!
yes.. price to taste ratio.. this is the best. naabutan ko 20 pesos lng isang bilog.. pag uwi sa bahay initin nlng sa toaster tapos lagyan mo grated.cheese.. solve na solve
Im from visayas at madami na akong natikman na cassava cake pero iba talaga ang budin. Totoo sobrang sarap. its been 4 yrs since im back here in visayas for good and everytime may nkikita akong cassava cake hindi na ako nabili kasi alam kung hindi sya katulad ng budin. Budin na yung standard ko pagdating sa usapang cassava cake.
First time ko makatikim ng budin last year nung nagpunta kami sa tayabas. Sulit na sulit ang 30 pesos. Sobrang sarap.
Budin for the win! Most of us Tayabasin ito ang binibidang pampasalubong. Ito rin ang family business namin as of now and other pasalubongs, mabuhay po ang mga magbubudin! 💓
Nung nagre-review ako sa review center sa Alabang laging nakikisuyo ung classmate ko na ibili sya ng budin dito sa Tayabas, favorite daw kasi ng mga katrabaho nia sa Laguna.

Budin will always be a memorable food that reminds me sooo much of my lola..each time we travel to Gumaca there will be vendors hopping in the bus and we would buy these budins in plastics like a bunch of them hanged and sell it to the passengers..that was in the 80’s grabe! it’s just great that with that one food, it reminds u alot of your childhood.. am such a lola’s girl.. more of stories like this in Featr please!! Goodjob!
