Something I don't hear talked about a lot, but I'd take a base 7A on a handgun over an X300. the X300 (to me) seems very rifle focused. The beam is super tight with a lot of throw. Not much flood with it. the 7A lights up a larger area around you so you don't have to necessarily be aiming directly at a person to see them. 7A is definitely superior for clearing a building or any CCQ scenario. Also, the X300 is so bright its pretty blinding reflecting off interior walls
The tight hotspot is referred to as candela, more candela, tighter and further throwing beam. Higher candela is preferred these days. Far more blinding to an opponent, and easier to identify a target. Maybe you’re taking about the x300 turbo? Because it is a very tight hotspot, would be good on a smaller rifle, but no, they were never designed to be rifle lights.
