In this video JT Torres Pressure Passing Clinic - 2023 Worlds Training Camp I discuss the benefits of breaking down a high level Black Belt Flow Roll match.
Firstly I want to apologize for some of the choppy moments in the video. The camera man wasn’t me and when I put the footage into my video editing software some of the frames were slowed down.
I've been a Brown Belt since 2022 and also moved back to Missouri to continue my training. I will be brining Rolling/Sparring Video Breakdowns to the channel on a regular basis so stay tuned for more! I'm always looking to improve and what better way to do that than to post my rolls on the internet for people to watch and dissect. What could go wrong? lol
In this JT Torres Pressure Passing Clinic - 2023 Worlds Training Camp I describe how JT Torres systematically used pressure to tire his opponent out and seemingly pass at will. JT Torres beautifully uses the mount position, side control, knee on belly, and smashed half guard to set up passing and submissions from extremely dominant positions.
JT also utilizes his De La X position from the bottom to set up simple sweeps that immediately put him into dominant passing sequences allowing him to keep the heavy pressure on his opponent.
JT Torres is one of my all time favorite BJJ athletes. His pressure heavy game, amazing wrestling, and submission hunting prowess is something I truly admire.
Notice how instead of falling back for the armbar in the traditional way, JT hits a more brutal and effective belly down armbar after securing full control of the S mount position.
I really hope that people can take away some of the fundamental principles of heavy pressure and learn how to utilize that pressure in their own games. I was there that day. I have my home gym but I cross train there. You can see me in the background. The worlds competition class is no joke. It was one of the hardest training I've ever done in my life. We had 5, 10 minute rolls that day. And this round was the third round.

I just stumbled onto your video searching for JT Torres passing. Great content! Keep up the great work. I really like how you breakdown what JT is doing during the roll. I'm currently a brown belt training at a Essential Jiujitsu affiliate in Wilmington, NC. JT will be teaching a seminar the beginning of the year during our grand opening. I'm pretty stoked to learn from one of the best.

Ohhh man!! I would LOVE to get into a seminar class with him!! JT, Lucas Lepri, and Rafa are the 3 who I always try to watch and admire. Each one brings a different avenue of guard passing which I’ve found to be amazing. Super cool you get to be at an affiliate!
