I made a faux cherry blossom tree (pink is my fave color). It's gorgeous and I bring it out every Spring. Get lots of compliments - it's one of my favorite things.
It's probably a lot of effort for little payoff but I was thinking of doing my home office (just the second bedroom in my apartment, lol) in a sakura theme. Making a tree for it sounds awesome! Though the only time anyone would see it would be on infrequent work meetings or something, lol. Well, guess I could just be happy seeing it.
Yep another who loves the color pink and cherry blossoms, when I lived in Washington state that 10 day period of cherry blossom season was one of my favorites because I love taking pictures of them. I’m actually a floral photographer, mostly for my own pleasure and because I’ve loved flowers and plants my entire life, the thing I miss most about Washington, is the cherry blossom season. There are none of these here in Southern California, I love plumeria season they are a complete joy to photograph and translate to lovely paintings that I create with a special app.
I literally walked around my neighborhood (full of trees) and collected fallen branches for a project that I hadn’t even known what was going to be so this second DIY is EXACTLY what I’m gonna do. Thanks Drew!! 🥰
I purchased a ficus tree like this from world market and it’s pretty full. i was trying to figure out how to make it less full but I see how i can move the branches around and take off some of the leaves. Thank you Drew for always sharing your great ideas!! ❤️❤️ This video was pretty relaxing to watch.
I've been addicted to your videos for awhile now, but we just bought our first home so now I'm binge watching them all over again. I'm so excited to create beautiful home decor and even larger projects I was intimidated by now thanks to you!
I do not look at the work of very many other creators, so I would never have seen this if you had not done it. I think it is wonderful for you to put your own spin on something that has been done before. It is no different than making a 'dupe'. Thank you.
Its crazy cuz i literally did this 3 months ago. An its sitting beautifully next to my mounted tv. I thought about doing a tutorial but im not a youtuber lbs. I get compliments on it all the time. People are surprised when they learn i did it myself... Love your content 💖
I just found you. I’m planning on watching all of your videos because you made something so pretty and natural looking with that organic feel for very little money. Thank you for sharing this with us. My husband and I love making our little home look and feel as beautiful as possible. We do have medical issues so we are home a whole lot. We make it as comfortable as possible and beautiful at the same time. I love clean and elegance. I love natural and organic.
Drew-you can use yard rocks in the bottom of your bucket with spray foam insulation in a can on top of the rocks. The rocks won’t move around, and you can use the foam to stick other fake stuff in if you want. Cheaper and sturdy after it cures! Love your style!
i find it so crazy that i have been out SHOPPING literally all day today looking for a faux tree, didnt find one, and now u posted this. Its for my chameleons so when the nice weather gets here i can put them in a tree by the window but NOBODY had a tree with any type of branch that would hold a chameleon. Now I got ideas that when spring comes I can just make my own. THANK YOU
The smaller arrangement looks just like some of the ones I've seen in magazines! Also, now that your big tree is by the window, the brightness of the sunlight in some areas and the shadows in other areas does give it some of the depth you hoped to give it with spray paint, IMO. Great money saving ideas for great looking greenery.
The tree looks so good, one of my favourite DIY ideas. Love the fact it's a fraction of the price of one's in-store. One caveat though, it depends on the country, but where I'm from there are strict laws with regards to cutting off branches from trees even for ones on your own property. Maybe better to wait for branches to drop off/go foraging for ones already fallen before taking a saw to a tree.
You are my favorite home decor UA-camr. Your videos are so calm and happy and you seem like a genuinely nice young man. I wish you a joyful, serene life. ❤️
Have to admit I was skeptical about this diy...but I love it. Because the shape is so organic, and you didn't go overboard with the foliage, it looks more realistic than most faux trees I've seen.
Your channel is SO useful. I skip all the ikea videos because I'm brazillian and we don't have ikea here. Most forniture people can afford around here is poor quality stuff made from plastic and imitation wood, and the decor is also kind of poorly made usually and it's always kind of ugly and expensive. We don't really have a lot of good quality stuff in second hand shops too, people around here only throw away stuff when it's broken beyond repair. Your channel helps me elevate rooms and change what I can change to make a cheaply built house with cheaply produced furniture look more pretty and homely without breaking the bank. It's so very important to me to have a space I like and you help me create that I love the dry branch arrangement you made and will be trying to replicate that. ❤️
I do not understand why or how someone can continually watch you videos and not subscribe to your channel Drew. I adore you and your content! Thanks for working so hard to bring it to us every week. ❤
Oh I was so happy when I saw your title as we've recently had to hard trim our Cork screw Hazel and have saved 3 huge branches,so going to get hubby to concrete them 8nto pots. This is also the first time I've seen these being done.😍🤩🤩🤩🤩😘👍👍👍
Lone fox, you are just adorable. You make me wanna try things because you’re so honest about it. I love to watch you show your imperfections. I’m very delighted with you
I would definitely suggest sanitizing the branches before bringing them inside! It’s very possible for bugs and other things to be inside or on your sticks without knowing. I do this by pouring A TON of boiling water on them! Enough to soak through to the inside! There are other ways of doing this, but this is the method I use before giving them to my reptiles to climb on, lol. Love the video! I’ll Definitely be trying this.
You read my mind Drew. Was looking for those big branches for my home and couldn’t find it. Now I can make my own. I love how you share every little detail of the process so that we never get stuck while doing it ourselves. You are wonderful.
Hi Drew, thank you for your inspirational video. I will definitely try making an indoor tree. I use wood chips available from nurseries around my plants. The wood chips give off a wonderful earthy, woody fragrance. Another plus to using woodchips is they absorb essential oils, so if you use a fragrance you enjoy, the room smells fabulous. Thank you for all your projects , I have loved everyone of them. Gale.
Love this!! Last winter I found a big branch and brought it in to diy something. I left it by the window until I had time to diy. After a week my daughter screamed : what is that???!!!! A tone of baby caterpillars had hatched and were all over the window and wall and just everywhere. lol I laughed so hard, me and my ideas of bringing nature inside…. Anyhow I think the heat of the house let those babies hatch.lol first time this has happened to me and I bring in branches all the time . lol, love the way your tree turned out!!
Ohhh my gosh! I ALMOST had this issue with a tree I tossed in my yard yrs ago! ( it was just getting in my way ) But now I want a Sakura tree. So I thought I’d use that! So I power washed it n all. But the spider sacs were TOO strong! So I carefully clipped all the “life” off the tree leaves and put them in a safe spot outside. Theeen I brought my old fake tree back in to revamp it. But my LORD! I hadn’t even thought about bug sacs & cacoons until I saw one id power washed over! ( I didn’t want to hurt any life.. ) so I hope I didn’t damage the casings.. but I’m also glad they’re not in my home hatching too lol!
Absolutely love this project... You NEVER fail to entertain .. amuse .. and inform . My favorite channel ! but .... I was dying watching you work on that beautiful table without some protection. Oh my ....
Ingenious! I’ve been wanting a tree for my apartment and now I know how I’m going to get it. I love both of your ideas, Drew. The tree looks good where you placed it, much better than the other one.
I started watching in the am and my day got away from me, I just finished it now, the big tree is amazing and I think I can do it on a smaller scale. I the the was you were doing 3 leaves at a time really makes me feel I can do it! Thank as always for sharing💞
This isn't the first video I've watched of this type of project but it's the most relatable - Frankensteining a branch together and then knocking art off the wall is exactly what it's like when I attempt a DIY. 😅 (Both of these projects turned out so well!)
Such a lovely tree, Drew! And the second one turned out a riot too! Great, unhurried, calmer videos I am glad to see you slow down and become more mindful. Happy days ahead, I am sure.
WOW!! Amazing!! I must be the only one here who has never seen anyone do a tree like this. You're my first Drew!! 💖 It is so beautiful and at a fraction of the cost! You did a fantastic job on the branches. So versatile also to make slight changes to the tree and branches for the different seasons. Have to try it!!
You never run out of genius ideas sir! Your aesthetic and personality are A1. I sincerely hope you are feeling better because your smile and energy really do bring sunshine into the world! ✌🏼❤️ and so much 😊 to you.
Wow, Wow, Wow, that tree looks better than any I’ve seen at stores which are priced ridiculously. The stems in the pot are awesome too. Thx for sharing. I’m truly inspired to take on this project now that I’ve seen your video.
Pretty sweet outcomes for both projects. Very high end looking. Hope you are getting on top of your insomnia. If its any comfort, you always look well rested in your videos. Take care of yourself.
DREWWWWW!! Your FICUS TREE,is the balm diggity,as THIS country girl, would say!! Oh My Goodness,y'all DREW just out here making trees like a Champ, and it's so purty too!! Love,Love,Love this DIY,and now I have to make me a tree! Thank you for this video, and for always being very candid on all your projects,!! Biggest Hugs from Southern Indiana🥰🔥🤗🤗
Drew has the most elegant cement mixing tools ever! The tree and the branch arrangement both turned out so well, they look amazing! I really appreciate that you "grafted" your tree branches on in a way that fit your space. You just have "the touch," I have a feeling if I tried it, it would look terrible LOL!
I love your step by step tutorial. I'm itching to make one. My grandkid told me I am funny because he and his dad chopped a real tree in my yard to make room for apple trees. I was like save that and save that branch. They don't see inside my head what I have planned, but when I finish they seem doubtful that I made it. I made branch with a bird and nest with flowers for their mom and they couldn't believe it! . Patience is needed. I love recycling materials and I speak to my tree branches that they are still with me. (I'm weird. Lol) .. Thanks for sharing this beautiful idea.
OMG, I have several old trees that drop branches every thunderstorm, now I can make something fantastic with them! Great video, I am very excited about trying this out for myself!
I was just today wondering how designers create those branches in pots and then this video popped into my feed. Perfect timing. I'll give it a go. Thanks.
Tks for showing us how to make a faux tree. I have a neighbor who has a corkscrew willow tree in his front yard. He calls me when he trims it. Makes wonderful fillers
The looks so good and a great option for those who travel a lot - you won’t need someone to water your plant. I’ve lost two large ones recently so I’ll be giving this a try. Thanks 😊

Drew wonderful Faux tree idea both DIY's came out amazing. As always you are an amazing creative. Thank you for sharing with us. Have a wonderful and Blessed rest of your Sunday.🕊🙏🍃👏🌿👏🌿🍃🙏🕊
The process of the tree from having no leaves to a full tree gave me a total spring vibe! 🌱 Love how both of the projects turned out! 😍🌿
I made a faux cherry blossom tree (pink is my fave color). It's gorgeous and I bring it out every Spring. Get lots of compliments - it's one of my favorite things.
Oooh, I'd love to see that!

Love the video. In the small vase maybe use a chicken wire frog so you could have more control.
I would have never thought to drill it to fit the branches. You truly are a genius! I love it, beautiful.
I think you should put your vase with the branches on your dining room table . I think it would look really nice .

This is my favorite DIY faux tree I've seen on UA-cam! I also love the idea of adding faux leaves to branches for pots. You are so creative!
I love that you do your DIY’s inside- at the risk of making a huge mess. I would do that too! Looove your channel!
Its crazy cuz i literally did this 3 months ago. An its sitting beautifully next to my mounted tv. I thought about doing a tutorial but im not a youtuber lbs. I get compliments on it all the time. People are surprised when they learn i did it myself... Love your content 💖

I so enjoyed the intro: he started so calm and slow and then little by little started to talk faster😅 Wonderful outcome as always!
It would be pretty in a clear vase too with that faux resin water you could buy. ❤️
I love how your videos make me feel like home 🥰❤️

Those “Styling Branches” are beautiful! … very high end!

Hey Drew, just wondering how your sleep is coming . Hope you’re getting more . Love the tree and branches. Thank you

Your eye for coming up with beautiful DIY’s that are actually cost effective is amazing. I'm totally recreating this one!
“🤣These are my foraged branches from outside😅”

"I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree."
- Joyce Kilmer, ‘Trees’.
Ingenious! I’ve been wanting a tree for my apartment and now I know how I’m going to get it. I love both of your ideas, Drew. The tree looks good where you placed it, much better than the other one.
These look great! A good raining day project. Can't believe you mixed concrete in your living room with no drop cloth, and not mess too.
Awesome. So totally natural in appearance.
I started watching in the am and my day got away from me, I just finished it now, the big tree is amazing and I think I can do it on a smaller scale. I the the was you were doing 3 leaves at a time really makes me feel I can do it! Thank as always for sharing💞

Nice job Drew. Love you showed us how to creatively use tree clippings from our own yard!!
The leaves look like they are dancing in the wind. Nice shape and great work, Drew 👍
You never run out of genius ideas sir! Your aesthetic and personality are A1. I sincerely hope you are feeling better because your smile and energy really do bring sunshine into the world! ✌🏼❤️ and so much 😊 to you.
I love the tree and the pot full of branches. You did a great job in making them look totally natural, Drew. Gorgeous!
Love it! And adding a few string lights would make it even cuter in my place!
Wow, Wow, Wow, that tree looks better than any I’ve seen at stores which are priced ridiculously. The stems in the pot are awesome too. Thx for sharing. I’m truly inspired to take on this project now that I’ve seen your video.
You're an absolute design genius!!
Again...so good to have you back. The tree is great.
The way you use material makes your tree more realistic. I think I m going to move for it in using all branches I m having in the garden
Pretty sweet outcomes for both projects. Very high end looking. Hope you are getting on top of your insomnia. If its any comfort, you always look well rested in your videos. Take care of yourself.

That is one fine tree, Drew. Infact, it’s absolutely gorgeous!
To whoever isn’t subscribed, I think you should treat yourself. Every video from Drew is great
I love your step by step tutorial. I'm itching to make one. My grandkid told me I am funny because he and his dad chopped a real tree in my yard to make room for apple trees. You always make me look forward to Sunday afternoon … love love your work … ❤️
OMG, I have several old trees that drop branches every thunderstorm, now I can make something fantastic with them! Great video, I am very excited about trying this out for myself!
I was just today wondering how designers create those branches in pots and then this video popped into my feed. Perfect timing. I'll give it a go. Thanks.
Lovely to see you so full of beans! Especially the giggles. ❤️
I love that shot of you as you walk in with that huge branch. I caught myself giggling with you.
You and the Diy wife both did these trees and you guys are the most realistic to me!
Tks for showing us how to make a faux tree. I have a neighbor who has a corkscrew willow tree in his front yard. He calls me when he trims it. Makes wonderful fillers
Drew, glad that you are back. Finally... great job
Unbelievably beautiful…thanks, Drew you’re the best. 🌱🌿🌱🌿🌱🌿
Oh my...you make me laugh with you when you brought in the tree branch. How dang cute !
Love you drew hope you'll continue doing diys and just living the life you want
I remember Emily faith doing this. Looks good!
The looks so good and a great option for those who travel a lot - you won’t need someone to water your plant. I’ve lost two large ones recently so I’ll be giving this a try. Thanks 😊
So excited for this video I already liked it before I hit play!
How fantastic, they look great! I love how you can shape each one to your own space.
That was really cool to watch. I have only real plants at my home, but never succeeded keeping a huge tree or growing them just very tall so this video could be the answer to my questions. Thank you.
Very nice... White pot would be really nice for the vase stems , Drew
the last diy looks more real to me, it was a great video.
Love the way you come back. 🙏
Drew, I did a faux tree, it turned out great. Our Texas Storm killed my 20 something year old White Crep Myrtle so I've had the idea of keeping the dead trunk but never thought to put faux leaves on it, so I did it. Thanks for your videos, Love your style so much!!!!
I subscribed because of what you did for Elisha English’s UA-cam channel. Thank you for your kindness and willingness to help a fellow UA-camr!
You are a delight! Love the branches in the vase idea. As for the tree, I have had a faux ficus in my house for many many years and have finally decided to get rid of it. Your update of a faux ficus though is very cool and smart!
LOVE! I’ve been collecting a variety of limbs for my “stick bucket” for years and while I used to enjoy dressing it up with ornaments from crafty time with my kids for a variety of holidays, I’ve always wanted to make a tree out of them with “leaves” from (less desirable) books... been thinking about it a lot more lately due to the labdscaping fail I had last year leaving me with a couple of perfect platforms to make it all happen damn near effortlessly lol
Lovely Tree made by a really kind human being who helped another U tuber Elisha English....I think you are brilliant Drew.xx
This is a fantastic DIY and I can honestly say I never would have thought of this. Thank you!!!
So clever. Looks great! I will be scanning for appropriate branches from now on. Thanks Drew!
Love how real the tree looks
You have created such a happy looking tree - spring is at your house for sure. Loved both projects.
Drew wonderful Faux tree idea both DIY's came out amazing. As always you are an amazing creative. Thank you for sharing with us. Have a wonderful and Blessed rest of your Sunday.🕊🙏🍃👏🌿👏🌿🍃🙏🕊
