After getting an oil change for your BMW M2, I swear I heard it purr in appreciation. It's as your car is saying, "Ah, finally, a spa day!" With its newfound zest, it practically glides down the road, reminding me that even the sleekest machines need a little TLC. Now, I’m convinced my M2 deserves its own pampering session more often-maybe next time, a wax and polish too! hahaha.

haha the genuine pleasing smile when she removed the oil filter is priceless. i remember when i taught my younger sister how to change oil herself on her vw golf for the first time. she was so proud of herself and then just like that her face changed and she realized how much she was spending on maintenance when she could of been doing it herself hahahaha. i'll never forget that day and conversation after.

Good job :) The first oil chainge is always the scariest one, after that its routine! Just one tip: You dont need to clean the oil filter housing. If you want to do it please use some cloth type fabric. The blue paper rolls tend to rip off small pieces (we actually had to replace a whole engine cuz a mechanic used them to clean a stripped engine

For the dust on the dash and back seats, use a microfiber towel and a brush. Use a brush to agitate dust, then vacuum. Be careful with the dash. Use a soft bristle brush to avoid scratches.

to clean out the gunk in your leather seats and vents is easy. you can buy cleaning putty which looks like slime and push it into the creases of your seats and air vents. you can also just buy any old soft paint brush and use that as well with a small vacuum hose to suck up any loose debris.

Great Job on doing your own oil. And when you buy nice tires, the tire shop usually has "Road Hazard" for your tires. That's basically a warranty for your tires. Can be replaced or patched at no cost and free lifetime balance + rotation as long as you get it done at the same shop you bought the tires from. But the replacement is usually up to like 70% wear on the tires.

  • @couchwarrior7207

I just pumped the oil out thru the oil fill tube (2004 325 XI). Just a hand pump from Harbor Freight. So much easier then messing with jacks and crawling under car which is dangerous. It does get all of the old oil out. Put 280,000 on that car. Still running strong till a deer took it out. So have no fears that this is not a good way. A lot of BMW owners do it this way.

Great job!! 2 things to help, check that big container, I think it's, 5.28 quarts, also another good thing to do is when your done, just start it, and see of there are any leaks, before you drive off. Oh, and no, it is not a good idea to overfill the oil.

Lexie, nicely done and having your brother there just in case you had any problems, better that he is close by just in case!
So neat and tidy very impressed with your desire to be that careful!
I use and sell Amsoil as all their products are 100% Synthetic, but Liqui Moly is also an amazing product line, but not all there products are 100% synthetic, but I am betting that you checked all that.
If you don't have access to an air compressor, just buy some detail tools, a small detail brush for your vents, seats, etc. But if you are going to clean the inside, don't use any products that have silicone in it, because that can travel far and onto your paint if you are applying it in windy conditions.
Yet another amzing video Lexie, thank you!

    Good job...
    Things I do differently:
I use cardboard instead of plastic to lay on.
I change oil every 5k miles rather than wait for the recommended miles. Oil is cheap. Engines are expensive.
Check/replace air and cabin filters with the oil change.
I use leather cleaner/conditioner to keep the leather nice and supple. Use a soft brush to get into those crevices. Clean the seats every week to keep the grime from sinking in.
I use Chemical Guys Leather Air Scent odor eliminator. Makes the car smell like new leather, and it eliminates rather than covering up the smell with live enzymes.
Use Green Clean putty to get into the vents and cup holders.
Finally, never rub the dust on the paint. It can scratch the clear coat.

Good Job on the oil change...! I used to do it on my previous VW cars, but I had a hard time trying to find a local store (Autozone) to take the used oil. Now I just take my car to my trusted mechanic near my work. I drop it off in the morning and walk to the office.

Good job being safe and using jack stands. Doing these its easy to get complacent and just lift the car with a floor jack but all it takes is one time for a accident to happen.
We had a dude in our city who was working on his car just using the scissor jack that came with his car. Jack broke and collapsed on him. He passed away. :/

I highly recommend just getting an oil extractor as you don't have to do any of the dangerous parts of jacking up the car on jackstands and even taking out the oil drain bolt! My Mercedes Benz e55 also has its oil filter topside so I just insert an extraction down to the oil sump to get all the old oil out without doing anything more then just opening the hood!

I was going to sugest to use a hook pick to remove the O ring but you already knew that as well as removing the filler cap. I also put paper towels around the oil filter to keep oil from getting on the engine as well as around the funnel to absorb any oil spills when refilling it. When the old oil is mostly drained I put some new oil to chase out the old oil as much as possible. Good job on using wheel chocks and jackstands to keep the car from falling on you and. I knew a fellow who died when a car fell on him. Never trust a hydraulic jack to keep the car raised.

Holy cow. A woman changing the oil? I think you may be the 5th American girl to ever change oil. Keep it up. Great to see people actually doing something in life.

Couple of things, first of all, you are one smart girl, you just saved hundreds of dollars by doing that yourself compared to if you took it to BMW. Also, you have a beautiful concrete driveway, of course you would have tinted concreted, but just from that you must have a beautiful home. Your family has taught you well. Thirdly at 7K miles, that M2 is new, congrats, you show that if you work hard you can pay for nice things. You are very wise girl for your age, your parents should be proud! I knew that about the little tree, I like the basic Vanillaroma for my car. Look at you becoming a vlogger! Nice job!

Thank you for your comment! I love everything you said! And that’s true, a lot of people think I buying my car was a mistake which I know it isn’t a smart one either but it does teach you to be on time with paying every month! Have a great day

@@lexflowaz No I don’t post my car. I have the M2 Competition. Basically same car, yours sounds better. Mine is a 6 speed which I would have thought you might have opted for as you whip through the gears on your concrete truck.
I noticed yours had low miles when you were doing the reset. Great score & love that it was your dream car 👍
Enjoy your channel - impressed with your abilities - you have a great work ethic and an apparent great family from what I have seen. Keep grinding ✌️

@@bmwgary i considered the m2 comp but only because I LOVED the hockenheim color, but ended up deciding on the m2 n55 after some research, my brother has s55 engine so I’m happy I went with base m2 n55, and yes I got it at 24k miles 1 previous owner!
What color did you get? same white as me?
And thank you for the kind words 🙏

    • @bmwgary

@@lexflowaz The N55 is a great engine. I have a 335i n55 as well. You made a great choice!! I hunted for both in the middle of Covid when prices were sky high. I do have the Hockenheim which I love yet White was my first choice after I saw all the colors of the Comp side by side at a BMW track event and thought the white showed off the lines of the car best. I bought mine after a phone call from original owner with 12k miles. I flew to Michigan two days later and drove it 10 hours home (Connecticut) - So fun!! Wish you were closer to take her for drive… Keep it - don’t sell it (but update your file of receipts 😉). I think it’s an end of an era. The new ones are ugly IMO.
Thanks for reaching back out - you are pure joy
