My bet is that marad has unintentionally found a zero dawn facility, though through what way I don’t know, maybe a holy site used by the Carja in the past because they felt it was “closer to the sun” only to be swarmed by more and more machines post derangement forcing them to abandon it? Anyway, he sends ryas to find out if there’s anything of value there to help since he’s the only one they have skilled enough to get through the machines, only to at the top or along the way meet Aloy who’s also searching there for a possible backup of Gaia, as we know she was in the six month gap between ZD and FW, leading their paths to intersect there.
Aloy also explained during the opening sequence of FW that she had some sort of "difficulty" that caused her to lose most of her gear. Maybe y'all can find out what that difficulty was. This adventure may also be when the shield weaver armor lost it's power.

Didn't the people see the mountain of Gaia Prime explode ? And take a correlation that right after that the machine get agressif ? Why didn't anyone think of that idea ?
They ofcourse don't know Gaia
@@Thijs. I was talking about the explosion of Gaia Prime Montain, not Gaia herself.

They did see the mountain explode but soon after aggressive machines blocked the the way(silense already having secured his route before hand) the machines didnt become aggressive right away, they would run away at first then they would fight back before eventually attacking on sight, this was due to Hephaestus becoming frustrated over time that its machines were being harvested and not sharing gias love of life.
Hope this means we will get to Meridian again! Imagine riding those elevators in VR!
DLC for HFW will, I think, be about capturing Hephaestus. If Nemisis DID leave Sirius when it got the notice from Hades that Gia self-destructive, than that means it will take like, 10 or 12 YEARS to get to Earth. And in that time:
They need to tame Heph.
Reconnect as much of the world as possible.
Get the up to speed.
CONVINCE them they're not lying.
And then, the prep work REALLY begins.
But as for the DLC, it would be hard to get Hephaestus, becouse it would be a final BOSS in and of itself. They can't LEAD with that in a new game, this isn't GOW3 after all. So making it the DLC final boss, tracking it some hidden strong hold and getting some awesome new gear, maybe even give the Oseram a shot, since their the only ones we haven't been given some real time with. They do call the world a great machine after all. Maybe it takes a letter out of Hades book and get some fanatics to worship it next?
Hephaestus won’t get tamed till the 3rd game. Can’t tame him in a dlc otherwise there won’t be any new machines made in the third game

Of course there will be. Aloy has beaten everything Hephaestus has thrown at her, so, just like with how Hephaestus took over and converted Thunders Drum into a Cauldron, qnd used it to produce the Scorcher and the Claws, he'll now use another to produces some NEW monsters to try and kill us.

Besides, our enemy's in the third game will be Nemisis, so we'll be fighting the machines that it developed on Sirius to kill the Zeniths.
I wish it could also be played without VR.
This looks like it will be a pretty good addition to the franchise. Even if it isn't it will still have lore important to the HZD/HFW world . Sadly I will be learning that lore second hand as The PS5 family is still out of my price range.
I've been waiting for a new VR game to get excited about, I just didn't know it was going to be Horizon! So excited, thanks for the breakdown!
Sad that i won't be able to play but excited to see others and of course the lore that will come in

What a shame it’s only VR instead of having the choice of play normal or VR game play there will be a lot of HRZ and HFW players won’t be getting it due to them not been able to play the game for medical reasons like myself .
It’s got me why sony continues to push VR when they know perfectly that there are gamers out there that can’t use VR

He was part of the group that escaped, including Lucent Bahavas and the Dowager Queen. But Ryas was the one directly responsible for Itamen, Helis was the one who fought their way out of Meridian 👍

Can't say I have ever tried VR. It seems to have advanced a lot, but where are his arms? ;-)
A lot of vr do it that way, tracking arms can be a bit of a pain.
