Seems like a great gun and round, I'd even say a worthy successor to the .50 if it is suitable for automatic fire. Impressed with the design of the gun too- except for the loose mag of course. The ventral handle is a very good choice, it gives you something other than the magazine to rest the gun on at the balance point for bracing on terrain. The sheath looks a good length balance if you need to use that too. Everything is smashing, all the choices I would make at least, though that might not be worth much!
10:51 the barrel sitting on the barrier might throw off your shots. Some guns and barrels are free floating and if you rest the actual barrel on something it throws off the accuracy.
It's a dragunov, there's absolutely no chance of it being free floated. Using a bipod with that kind of setup nets you the same effect because you're just resting the barrel on something else instead.
If you could get your hands on a Denel NTW-20 anti mat rifle that would be pretty cool. 20mm is usually considered a shell or cannon round so doesn’t really classify the same as a traditional sniper.
The Finns used the 20mm Lhati as a sniper rifle in an operation they called “Cold Charlie” (dress a mannequin as a junior Finnish soldier, and hide it well but not too well). Wait for a Russian sniper to shoot at Charlie. The Lhati crew had one rifleman and two spotters, so the chances of identifying where the shot came from was better than just one spotter. A Finn with personal knowledge of that use of the Lhati said it could blow down around 50% of Finland’s trees, so even a near miss would discourage snipers if it blew a nearby tree down. Of course, if there were something better to shoot they would do that first.
Problem with getting a denel is that anything over 50cal is considered a destructive weapon, which makes it harder, as well im not sure if denel imports those
Video Idea: save all your brass for a year then melt it down into another block to shoot at. I would be curious to see how many brass casings you end up with after a year of shooting.
Love you and your story, your vibe. You can tell you've hit your stride with this UA-cam thing and you're happy doing what you do and in your life which is the ultimate dream for me personally.

Good thing that Drewski was in this one. I was hoping to see him. Also, what a purchase, definitely the best gun ever imo. Also: The opening here was one that actually gave me a giggle.
I find it so cool that the round has buffs like a weapon or a piece of armor or a ancient amulet would in a video game. the buff even matches the weapon too which is a sniper.
Problem with a tungsten round, is that its harder than the barrel, barrel wear will occur with use. One would have to make a sabot'd or copper jacketed tungsten round. Either option would be exceedingly expensive.
@@chemistryofquestionablequa6252 it seems there are some sabot type rounds for the .50BMG, looks like a 7.62 bullet, with a two piece plastic shroud. Once clear of the barrel, spin makes the sabot fly away. But I can't say I've seen how effective/accurate they are...

Love the colabs! Drewski is one of my favorite persons on YT period. Smart and super cool dude! Demo ranch is my tops for gun videos...period!
You know Drewski is his brother right?
@@jaydenmercado1195 had no idea....crazy shit!
@@jaydenmercado1195whattt I’ve been watching both of them for years and never knew

"Giving Matt an Intervention" - greatest pun in history folks =))))))))
Problem with getting a denel is that anything over 50cal is considered a destructive weapon, which makes it harder, as well im not sure if denel imports those
@@andresaltamirano7970 So take the target somewhere where you can persuade a Denzel owner to let you use theirs.
@@kennethjackson7574Actually it's Lahti. Named after a Finnish City. No bad vibes👍
@@akottero3908 Lahti is a city, but the gun is actually named after its designer Aimo Lahti
Video Idea: save all your brass for a year then melt it down into another block to shoot at. I would be curious to see how many brass casings you end up with after a year of shooting.
That would be soooo much brass
Would be interesting to find out
A month of shooting even 😂
I could watch this intro all day ☠☠☠☠
Im not gonna lie that eyeball bore sighting was pretty impressive! Awesome video!
I would never have thought to do it that way . I pride myself on being decently good at sighting rifles , but never thought of that method.
Yes more solid materials shooting!!
Baddie looks like he's right at home behind that Intervention 200. 👍
When Drew started sniffing the bullet, I almost died laughing. You guys are way to funny!!
Thank You Matt for teaching that BIGGER is not always BETTER
Always good to see the Falkor & the Drewski back on the channel 👌
I'm glad to see Drewski and Baddie hangin out with you
This episode felt so much more real than most others!
Liked for the opening alone, everything else was icing on the cake
Love you and your story, your vibe. You can tell you've hit your stride with this UA-cam thing and you're happy doing what you do and in your life which is the ultimate dream for me personally.
You can always tell when Baddie is genuinely excited about something.
He gets strangely quite...
Quite what?
Strangely what?
Gets what…a little ‘tistic ?
Okay but I've seen bigger: the Anzio Ironworks 20mm rifle.
I don't know how Matt hasn't gotten it on the show yet.
That skit was hilarious. The lesson learned is to ignore your friends and family pleas; you know what's best for yourself. Matt did and look at his success!
such a selfish vision of life. embarrassing.
Good thing that Drewski was in this one. I was hoping to see him. Also, what a purchase, definitely the best gun ever imo. Also: The opening here was one that actually gave me a giggle.
I find it so cool that the round has buffs like a weapon or a piece of armor or a ancient amulet would in a video game. the buff even matches the weapon too which is a sniper.
.408 tungsten round would be interesting to see.
High velocity, long projectile.
The bronze block would be shaking.
Problem with a tungsten round, is that its harder than the barrel, barrel wear will occur with use. One would have to make a sabot'd or copper jacketed tungsten round. Either option would be exceedingly expensive.
@@bmw328igearhead copper jacket would be way more accurate
@@chemistryofquestionablequa6252 it seems there are some sabot type rounds for the .50BMG, looks like a 7.62 bullet, with a two piece plastic shroud. Once clear of the barrel, spin makes the sabot fly away. But I can't say I've seen how effective/accurate they are...
@@bmw328igearhead those were designed for machine guns, they're significantly less accurate than regular rounds
@@chemistryofquestionablequa6252 duely noted.
Best Intervention ever! Also, Day 14 of asking that David does the shooting and Matt does the filming!
Day one of seeing this lmao
@@David.Lopez.12 For real? I mean it's not really the 14th time, but everyone does that 'Day 356 of asking Matt...' ut I have put it in the notes on like the last 3 or 4 videos. I think you can check that. Would he do it though? Would he let you shoot while he filmed? I don't know if you're the same camera guy Matt had back when Lunkers was there, but if not, that guy never appeared on the channel ever. So I'm glad we get to know who you are finally. Matt should do a video about that. Whomsoever are, where you came from, why do you like guns, etc..
@@clifbradley My origins are debated to this day.. Some say I was born in the South Texas brush and raised by coyotes. Others claim I was assembled in a film school lab from left over graduate program rejects. Some say in a former life I was a Mexican arms smuggler that defected to the United States... The truth and how I came to wield both camera and gun may remain a mystery forever, but one thing is certain: the chicken DID indeed cross the road to get to the other side.
That "Am i good to go" before the shot on steel gave me chills. Felt like he flipped that switch for a second.
18:52 Well Matt spent at least $75 in bullets just for the 2 back to back skits........... WORTH IT! 😂👍🏻
