The irony of Matt running a pew pew channel for a decade and then catching a ricochet from a cue ball he threw by hand is absolutely hilarious.
Under-rated comment lol😂
He did catch a ricochet from shooting a .50 in his house.
At least he didn’t have to “put a thumb in it”…..
That's not irony.
GUN
I snorted Red Bull out of my nose when I saw Matt’s Buford Tannen walk… it was frickin spot on! 😂😂😂
you should pick his gun safe
LPL, can you pick matt's gun safe?
@@volkerracho5954 I think he could
Didn’t think I’d see LPL here 😂
A man of culture.
I laughed so hard when the camera guy said, "if you want science, go watch Garand Thumb." Matt was a little shook I think 😂
Edwin Sarkisian is the science channel
@@connorjames6307 I mean you just going to ignore the multiple mud, dirt and ice tests he did… so I guess your both correct lol
He's a doctor. Ish.
@@endangeredmarmot4518 yep
Matt's reaction was priceless.
Like a little kid that just had a toy taken away. 😂 "Hey!" 😂
matt ignoring the tiny pew in the canik case was killing me
FINALLY SOMEONE ELSE
He mentions it in another video he did where he’s showcasing the Mete
😂 same
Right
Here I thought I was the only one yelling what about the noisy cricket in the box lol
I’m love this idea. Should find tons of movie scenarios and use your amazing take on recreating them for “testing purposes “
The original cast iron plate armor scene was from Fist Full of Dollars and the guy used a 30-30. It would be interesting to see that if you ever come back around to this stuff…
Nobody used a 30-30 in a film taking place about 1865
Going to say Eastwood did this long before McFly
No, I suppose not. But they did use a Winchester rifle. I guess my mistake lies in the name of the ammo, which was produced some 30 years after the fact.
I'm just glad somebody mentioned Fist Full of Dollars instead of Back to the Future 3.
Don't get me wrong Back to the Future is a great series but come on better than the man with no name series?
Choosing no references BttF3 over FFoD is the exact type of stuff Fudds like to complain about the new fandangle generation. Stop proving their point .
@@WillM1776 .44-40 was much more common round shared between pistol and rifle. Very few rifles were ever chambered in .45 Colt.
Don't forget the old A-team TV series. So many objects bullets bounced off.
Corrugated roofing sheets were their go to armour plate.
no one ever died on that show because of regulations at the time.
@epstiendidntkillhimself20231 even the people were bullet proof you mean.
No one ever gets shot in the A-Team. Just tons of rounds shot with no deaths. Lol
Hell just about every car is bullet proof as long as you're behind the thin metal bits (or if the script has them getting shot while in the car), they make cool sparks n' stuff!
Remember the lettuce gun that they made?
Just for fun, I'd like to see the camera guy and other staffers behind the scenes pick their favourite gun/rifle/tank/whatever and fire them in some super serious scientific test like this. An introduction kinda thing for them :)
Oh yeah! Especially the cameraguy! I just love it that he now comments (sarcastically) on basically everything instead of being/having to be(?) mute all the time!
@@MSgtHavoc the amount is perfect imo. Too much ruins it like garand thumb, too childish but I guess UA-cam caters mostly to kids.
It’s possible they don’t want to be on camera. I worked for a big company before and hated when they made me do public online stuff.
Да, было бы интересно посмотреть на такое
I'd like to see the deadpool one on a ballistic gel torso to see what actual damage is to be expected. Also the brick one wasn't quite fair as I suspect that round would not have slipped through a properly mortared brick wall
i am with you on that, and for brick wall, if I remember correctly, they are all wearing protective vests in the movies, so no shrapnel would probably hurt them
When it comes to the cast iron door armor I think of Ned Kelly and his armor it was made from plow blades or something basically thick ass iron and back in the 1800's few calibers would go through it. It was ultimately 3 bullets in the legs where he wasn't as protected that took him out
This would be a very interesting series, I'd like to see more.
If the holster you have is like the one I got for my iwi jericho, you have to hold the pistol in a little at an angle and up to release the retention (sort of like you're trying to make the muzzle face away from your leg). I'm not sure if it's purely for retention or for keeping someone from trying to grab your gun, but with very minor practice, it is easy to draw.
Love these debunking videos. And love that the camera guy is getting more involved!!
"Gee I wonder" when Matt asked about Deadpool being real or Hollywood Magic and walked off camera 😂
Good close up camera work, as the gun is Working.....Nice, from all angles.
Can’t say how much you’re videos have helped me out this past year they never get old thank you for everything you do 🙏 stay blessed
I’d love to hear your motto for work ethic. You keep delivering great episodes all the time
Then you would enjoy his latest OffTheRanch video : Time to Retire... The End of this Chapter for Me.
I used to build pool tables, a 3/4" slate would have made that buckshot bounce, fer sure. It might crack if you hit it enough times, but you'd basically have to pulverize it. You should be able to find a piece of slate, even if just a paving stone, and find out.
My hometown is known for its slate mines. Delta, PA. Matt I will ship you a good piece 😂😂
As an ex tiler, slate is strong, but doesn't bend, any major force and it cracks...
That cast iron door from BTTF3 would have been a lot thicker than the one Matt used, likely 2-3 times as thick, but also much weaker metal, but overall would likely have stopped the bullet. Also, the bullet Matt used was a lot faster than bullets from 1885, as we use a lot more advanced powder now.
It's cast iron either way, though, since that's what classic wood stoves are generally made of
The real big difference is that old bullet would have been lead, and not even hardcast lead.
Yeah that would’ve worked for a one shot duel, it’s at least very plausible.
If he's going to make it more realistic, he probably should use one of those ballistic busts that have the organs and zombie blood in them. Something that will simulate the resistance a body would give. Then he should use a lead shot cowboy load.
“Yeah for animals” haha this was such a good burn. Love Matt just glazed it over lol.
Well, he shoulda just said "Human doctors only manage 1 species, I handle ALL the other ones" :p
@@tigerman1978 except, vets dont "handle all others".
They usually split between large and small species, with a few specialists.
You wouldn't take your race horse to a city pet vet. And you wouldn't take a lion to a livestock vet.
@@DH-xw6jp ssshhh dont let details ruin a good quip :p
(Although only reason to take a lion to a livestock vet would be to have it feed)
Like a Rick and Morty episode😂
Vet is a harder and longer course than MD and your patients can't tell you what the problem is.
Can I just say, I really love the banter with your camera man. It makes for a really funny video.
😆😂🤣 That beginning........ I thought, FOR SURE, he was gonna put the cue ball down and “Tea Bag” one of the holes!
No matter what the big life changing announcement is, please do not stop filming for Demolition Ranch...
I think he's just moving to Montana to be a dental floss tycoon.
Matt finally got hit with a ricochet. I knew it would happen eventually 😂
in the butt no less, Forest Gump would be proud.
Definitely.
...should we tell him? Haha.
The episode that we needed and we didn't even know we needed. I do have to say I love the flying mannequin.
Also love the camera guy’s comments 🤣
Only matt can hit those badass small framed pew pews from one million feet away. legendary.
I love this style of video! I would love to see more movie myths being tested!
For the holster, I find a full blown battle belt works best. The tighter the belt the better. And I loosened the screws and secured them with loctite.
hi ct
The cast iron armor was a lot thicker back then & I would assume the bullets were different. I cannot stop laughing at how easy Matt threw the pool table over! I know it's not the standard bar/clubs tables, but that still made me chuckle! Best part though, trying to hit Deadpool mid flight.
softer lead, thicker iron, black powder
Not to mention cowboy loads vs modern
Cowboy loads refers to unrealistic loads from competition trick shooting.
The colt walker was the most powerful handgun on earth until the 357 magnum came out.
45acp was meant to have the same ballistics as the 45 Schofield, which is a little weaker than a 45 long Colt. Yes, 45acp, 40 s&w, and 9mm are weaker than 45lc
36 caliber ball rounds were relatively weak, but 45 balls are not.
wasnt it origanlly from fist full of dollars?
@@adamnabil6931 yea it was
This is one of my favorite fun to watch videos on the internet… make this a series 👌🏼
That Buford walk up to the mannequin had me rolling 😂😂😂😂
Need to find out how many rounds where shot by Arnold in the movie “Commando”, and then figure how many magazines he would have to actually have to carry and how many times he would have had to swap out/ reload magazines!
Need more movie tests videos. A+ content!
This episode of demo ranch was especially spectacular!! Bravo good sir, bravo!
Watched one of your old videos there and noticed the difference in the intro that’s madness
Absolutely love the intro.
The flying manikin had me dying laughing. Best part of the video 😂
Mannequin
That was great. Matt yelling, “Pull!” Had me rolling.
Matt is a genius. After he breaks everything he puts all the garbage parts in your order so his shooting range gets cleaned up! Lol
Keep them coming Matt. Can’t wait for the reveal
"I'm basically a scientist" *cut to Matt kicking the mannequin torso*
That part was so much funnier than it had any right to be.
This outro is oddly long since the video ends at 0:24 . I don't know, I enjoyed the lengthy outro though!
That intro transition was golden
The other thing about the Back to The Future bit, is that considering it was 1885
and that I doubt an outlaw had the most recent model, but even if he did, was most likely
using black powder cartridges with soft lead ball rounds, which I feel would do even worse against the cast iron.
.45 long colt is a black powder load. Some will use smokeless powder of an equivalent level.
I don't know if Matt knows this but that is actually ripped off from a Clint Eastwood movie called A fistful of Dollars.
Does anyone know if the plate Clints character uses would’ve been cast iron or steel?
I’m addicted to watching Matt idk what to do lmao
Kiss his manhole
Watch more 😊
hes a dr, its fine
watch all his video :3 its the best. Matt is such a cool dude, he even took a ball to the butt for us.
Rewatch all the old episodes
Oh man! The flying Deadpool was freaking awesome!
When you first threw the damn dummy and he missed 😅🤣
“Cut”
To confirm/debunk you need to use the ammo they would've used in the 1800s
That's what I was thinking too but they gave the cast iron a pass anyway, if it stopped modern ammo it would definitely have stopped typical 1800s ammo
Good luck with that.
This takes it a step further...1800 ammo was lead
@@RandysRides and weaker powerload
And cast iron was thicker, not that thin what they used.
I really like that pistol it's really hard to find a modern gun with a good frame and for me the recoil predictably and grip are the most important part of the gun so I like to see Matt giving my kind of gun some attention
I'm so happy to see a video after that off the ranch scare
What scare?
@@Snowblind627 most recent video on off the ranch
Great series idea!! More!!
That opening was hilarious.
Shooting for decades: hit by cue ball ricochet
Bad luck with shooting: gets 2 balls in
There was a case where some soldier got shot in the chest but he had some change in his breast pocket that saved his life…you could say it was his life savings 😹
😅😂🤣
The way he tried to walk like a cowboy got me good.
In back to the future they were using black powder guns. Much less muzzle velocity and the rounds were full lead
I lost it at your Burford walk 😂😂😂😂
8:45 This has me dead.
I love how he calls pull when he shoots the mannequin as it's thrown
In ronin the dude supposedly coated his 9mm in Teflon to get through soft body armor
One I have always wanted to see. John McClain using an MP5 with a collapsable stock to hold his entire weight in the original Die Hard. Think he was in an elevator shaft in that scene.
It was the central vent shaft not elevator
Can already confirm that hanging from an MP-5 sling mount is busted..
There is a reason it's mysteriously blacked out in the movie scene where his weight is actually on it, because he's in a belt harness, and hanging from a proper anchor point, put into the concrete for that scene.
But as another point of Die Hard movie interest & trivia, Bruce willis got actual & painful hearing damage from the rapid firing in the scene where he shoots the guy up through the table, where he then says: "Thanks for the advice" to the now dead terrorist atop the table..
That scene, in such confined space under the table, his pain was real, and he thought he'd ruptuted an eardrum at first.
Bruce later admitted it gave him some hearing issues for quite some time afterwards, in real life.
So be careful trying that one out Matt, make damn sure you don't forget to have those muffs in place, when you re-create that one!
@@bjlewis5431 even in the movie it doesn’t hold him 😂.. it holds him for 2 seconds and then breaks so it was busted by the original movie in my opinion lol
The intros keep getting better 😂
Used to put lead weights on the end of the barrel on my trap shooting shotgun. It helps keep your momentum moving and moving smoothly to help you follow through after trigger pull
Hollywood puts out those crazy things just for the scene lol even suprised these worked except the blocks they seemed always solid to me but yeah still don't believe what you see on movies guys I'm saying that even tho I'm a amateur filmmaker😂😂
I've always wanted to know if the Teflon spray on a bullet would make it go through a BPV as shown in "Ronin" with Robert DeNiro.
Too bad teflon jacketed rounds are illegal to purchase.
@@DH-xw6jp illegal to purchase, but are they illegal to make yourself under Texes law?
@@stevesmith5883 probably not, but idk.
The back to the future gun looks like black powder and probably was a solid lead bullet. Be interesting to see if that did as much damage.
All guns in that time period were black powder. While they could have been conical or a cartridge round, everybody likely would have used cap and ball. 45lc cartridges are more powerful than 45acp, so it really depends if he had a fancy new gun or not.
I was wondering if it would be the old style lead projectile
This is better then Mythbusters. So scientific. I love it 😀 ❤
Dont u dare ever stop making these vids cant retire from this
Honestly in my opinion Matt is a "basically" a scientist in the exact same way Mike is "basically" a doctor 😂
Mike is actually in the state of New Jersey
@Doctor Decay I mean yeah... but that's New Jersey... that's like saying I'm a wizard but only when I'm at hogwarts
@@rooky1991I mean can you really prove other for that? Are you a wizard?
@Doctor Decay I am and your typing or spelling is atrocious either or I can't really tell what you were trying to say
@@rooky1991 yes I know I'm illiterate don't bully me
They did it in Fistful of Dollars before Marty McFly
Lol. Yep. They even show that scene in part two, which is where Marty gets the idea for his name in the old west as well as that particular scene.
Can I share the gospel of Jesus Christ with you?
Jesus is King!
Im super stoked that I just got my manhole t-shirt in the mail along with a challenge coin, been a long time fan from Texas and have enjoyed seeing you and your channel grow, keep it up 🙏
My heart stopped for a brief moment when you were shooting the pool table until I realized that it wasn't a real pool table....😂
I’m in love with that Taurus Judge
I had to watch the intro twice to actually see those balls go in, i couldnt keep my eyes off the white ball coming back at Matt 😂😂😂😂😂
Just ordered some stuff from bunker branding, got lucky and got the orange stripe 13 ball! 🎉
The best handgun for recoil / sight-alignment , that I've used is my Baretta 84. You barely notice the slide moving. When I first bought it, I wouldn't notice that I had emptied the mag if I wasn't counting, I wouldn't notice the slide stuck back. I love that gun.
Ok. That Kanick is pretty good too
Thanks for the double episode
The transition between the outro and the intro threw me for such a loop.
deadass just got home from picking up my rival s from the store, opened up this video as first in recommended and bam my suprise when Matt just pulled it out after intro. fuckin love it
that flying dummy shooting was the funniest shit in a long time
man i always love your channel thx for the vid.
You know the funny thing; even though you aren't collecting data or really doing anything you think is scientific; the experimental physics of your videos are absolutely amazing for demonstrating concepts.
"Pull!"
Mannequin flies out 😂😂
Best video yet
OMG the tossing of the dummy. 🤣🤣🤣
This was great! Please test more movies.
"I went to basically Medical School. I'm basically a scientist." 🤣😂🤣😂
That intro was gold 😅
Little blooper with having the coin on the mannequin 😂 it was on the guy standing still haha
True to the whole concept of Demolition Ranch. Knocked it out of the park! 💥

I have one thing to say Matt. Well….two.
1. I love your videos.
2. You’re hilarious. But still a good guy. If I didn’t live so far away I would love to meet you in person.
Take care and be safe.
Lookin swol my dude. Love your content. Been watching for years.
I would love to see a Charlie Berens Manitowoc Minute guest appearance on this channel. Texas vs. "midwest nice" Wisconsin?!?!?!!! The comedic possibilities are endless...
Matt please do a part 2 video with more movie myths oh and don’t forget the real pool table. 😂
