I like to "trick" my self into creating art. I set a timer for 30 minutes and I set the goal of I've giving myself just 30 minutes to create. IF I feel like I'm on a roll and have more time to spare I'll give myself another 30 minutes. If not I'm still stuck then I'm done, I gave my craft 30 minutes. I'll try again in a couple hours.
I know it must be frustrating to put so much time and thought into your video and only have comments on your appearance... but that dress is an absolute masterpiece in itself. As for the content of your video: in the spirit of time management, I shall stop procrastinating writing my dissertation and come back to watch it later 😂
TIME STAMPS 1:41- Chill out 3:02 - Steal time 4:01 - work on multiple things at once 4:25 - made rolling to-do lists 5:59 - block time 7:16 - take breaks 7:39 - create a routine 8:50 - clean your space 9:34 - fill your cup 10:11 - make
These are all super super solid tips. I'm a graphic designer by trade, but wannabe artist by night. My workflow is kinda broken down into 2 steps, "am I communicating effectively?" and if so, "does it look good?" Do you ever wonder about how effective your art is at communicating what you want it to? Or do you take more of an internal approach and just let it come to you?
As a beginner and someone who goes to school and does not have any time, this is very very helpful. Thank you very much robin! Love you. And you really good in that dress
These are so useful! In fact, I'm watching this video instead of working on an art project! All jokes aside, glad to see you're uploading often. Love your videos!
Thank you Robin! I found this very helpful. Love the Edward Scissor hands paint brush fingers. Perfect for Halloween. This video is exactly what I need. Thanks again!
Such a wonderful list! I am sure that this will help so many people. I sometimes just have to “gut up” and do something! I have worked in cleared spaces and cluttered ones , I have created Art in both neither is better over the other. If I had trouble creating I would definitely use this list to troubleshoot, for sure! You are truly inspirational and so amazingly talented, you are appreciated, thank you Robin. I hope you have a lovely day and enjoy a fantastic response to the video!
I have a very short attention span,so I have trouble painting for any more than an hr or so,I usually get up and go on a bike ride or something so i can focus better when I come back
Blocking time is what works best for me. I have my list of things for the week that I want to do, and block out half hour intervals. If I do more than one interval, then awesome, but if I only do half an hour then at least I've done it to some extent instead of not at all. It's great 👌
Robin Paintbrush Hands...or is it Robin Krueger? Looking super cute and really settling back into this UA-cam world, girl! Great advise for any aspect of life, thanks!
Have you listened to, or read the book The War Of Art, by Steven Pressfield? Its a short book, available on Audible, and has helped me so much. Especially in understanding procrastination, my biggest problem. I'm so bad about leaving a project until I barely have time to finish it before my deadline, which makes me feel so unprofessional. Now that I understand why I do it, I can deal with it so much better. Love your art, videos, clothes, attitude...I could go on...
It's phenomenal, and I think EVERYONE should read it, especially if they are in a creative field. Reading it helped me put my entire life in perspective, and I finally understood why I procrastinate in the first place.
For me,time menagment isnt in my vocabulary and not even in real life. This is what i do whole day: 50% Homework 25%Learning 5%Other needs 20%WASTING TIME . Im so proud of me 😊✨🌟😌✌🏻
that outfit is le plus plus! entertainment factor blows off the roof! :-) (except i do not remember neither one point out of the ten, but yea - there's the replay button. haha.)
I actually build a complex flowchart, adapting it each time I find something that doesn’t work or something that would make me work better. It keeps me in balance, determining how much time, and in what chunks, I should be making art. It has a minimum and a maximum of time for each day, based upon how I feel, what I think I need, what’s coming up, and how my previous days were. It took me 3 years to create the flow chart and it helps me a lot now :).
i couldnt concentrate because i spent the entire video thinking robin had a giant fuzzy tongue plush in the background.. realized its a cowboy hat by the end
I found by doing a 365 day sketchbook i made, I was able to find the best time of day for me to create every day. The first month was really hard but once I found that sweet spot it changed everything.
Hey Robin, thanks for another inspiring video. And thanks, community, for the rich comments below. I have to get a few chores out of the way so I don't feel guilty, eat something with multisensory deliciousness while watching/reading/singing & dancing to something fun and inspiring (like your videos) before I can dive into the pool of creativity. Love you guys!
Is there any tips of time management for art student? They usually had a lot of homework with deadline, usually can't even organize themself because homework first, it takes a lot of time to balance their time to do the homework, have a family meets, clean the house etc.
One thing that keeps me creating or doing homework is litterly gratitude. Not a lot of people can do what I do and I try keep that in mind when I'm being lazy or is in a rut. You don't know how many people would give anything to be in your position. Yes, it is necessary to keep things balanced but what good is a guitar if it's not being played? Do what you have to - to play your guitar as long as you do it. If that makes any sense... Basically the shia le buff just do it...
I was just painting smol eggplants in various mediums. Thanks for all the time management tips, it gets really difficult you know, managing school and art side by side.
My conditioning has become putting on scary story narrations. I've actually listened to Let's Read's entire video list. I'm now listening to Corpse Husband, Urmaker, and GenSen.
I guess I'm one of those people who get fed up of life and make some art to get back on track. One problem I face is either having too many ideas or no ideas. Or even when I have such specific ideas and I'm stuck trying to decide what to make. This usually ends up with me getting even more frustrated and giving up
What do you do when you just don't feel like your artwork resonates with people? I feel like there's so much pressure to "sell out", that is to make work I don't really like because I know it would get me a following/sales. I make applique wall hangings with weird sayings on and I know I'd make more sales if I stopped being a weirdo and did ones with song lyrics and Disney stuff on... but I don't want to. It's not my jam. I'm really struggling with this.
3 paintings in 72 hours? Yeah, sounds easy to do. My time management is just have a time tracking app and a to-do app. On my to-do app, I have "draw for 1 hour" to "draw for 6 hours", and if I don't draw for 6 hours that day, then my digital plant dies. Actually, I missed yesterday's and only did 5 hours, so its like the roll to-do thing, just draw 7 hours today. I like this method because its flexible, its just draw 6 hours everyday and I can do whatever drawing I want, studies, paintings, etc. That includes small breaks, but not long ones that are over 10 minutes. I still get 8 hours of sleep, any break time, spending time with friends, any gaming, etc. I naturally take breaks so I don't use a Pomodoro time thing, I hate sitting for too long. The time tracking app just tracks the time I need to do things. Like I eat for one hour because I'm a slow eater so that's my big break...xD 6 hours is an arbitrary number I came up with, but its like a big enough number that makes me want to draw and take the time to draw to make something really nice.
I’m obsessed with that dress. I’m also watching a video about time management instead of doing what I need to do. Classic!

I haven't watched the video yet, but what tip would you give to someone who wants a small to medium following but gets anxiety from social midia? haha
Your outfit is so stinking cute! Love the kitty leggings
Nice video kindly make video on that artist who think their art is not worthy or good.. Plz Robin becz sometimes I feel so depressed...
