      I've seen that x10 divine drops are possible, so loot is definitely decent idlf you know what your doing. Nothing will likely beat last league though for loot.

    Honestly I feel like this league has insane potential with a few tweaks. A. The lantern needs to be toggled like most things like maven. Just put it in the slot where the sentinel slot was as an “on/off”.
    As for the corpse? Visual representation in crafting. Change the list of corpses or create some “bench” to something that makes either the whole board visible with the mods, or a page you can fill out of however many slots there are that you can fill. Half of the pain of the mechanic is Visual representation, and the other half is mechanic based. Making the visual context make sense will make the mechanical part feel much more digestible, and having the list of modification totals before you hit the theoretical “done” button for item crafting will give the player SO MUCH MORE AGENCY.
    Also make the corpses go back into the list when you don’t want it in that craft anymore and don’t destroy them.

      @@Juuz9 economy, playerbase, new gems and items, literally anything else beside grave crafting. Even lanterns and some devoted mods are fun to fiddle around this league so full league content ain't all that bad. On the other hand, we had simple things like breach, strongboxes, ritual, blight and many more. I just don't wanna get PhD levels of knowledge for something that lasts 3 months.

    Crafting leagues are always unpopular. A mechanic like this would be welcomed if there was another mechanic non-crafters can engage with.

      there is. The map modifiers with custom rewards is there, but just like the corpse crafting is not balanced to be worth doing.

      I would have no problem with a crafting league, but this one feels just useless and/or to complicated to be usefull the time. They disable sextants for faster map-progress just to give us a useless latern which makes playin hardcore = unbelivable hardcore? Dont get this patch.

      This is true. Bestiary was disliked at first, Synthesis was disliked, people look at Harvest with rose-tinted glasses, but forget that nobody liked the whole garden minigame aspect and didn't understand how strong it was until later. Not even just crafting leagues. There were many leagues that people outright hated until GGG released massive buffs early on.
      This is the nature of experimentation and coming up with new ideas. Not every league can have a piñata mechanic. A subset of people might dislike it. Hell, everyone might dislike it, but the most important thing is that GGG responds swiftly to the players' grievances. No campfire chat or 1 month delay necessary.

      @@devn6568 I agree that the tuning of the league is off. However, the game is not balanced around the optional hardcore difficulty option, and shouldn't be. The people that opt in to permadeath modes do that on their own and shouldn't really complain about the difficulty of it.

      It was also Easter Friday launch.... I went on Friday and almost did campaign, but then visited family etc.... I think the corpse management is a bit janky, but has potential once you get into the cremation/bans and actually do more than alch stuff :)
      but *hey* I play SSF softcore, and I like the "kinda gauntlet feel". I expect it really blows with the unskippable rips on HC, or for trade with the "friction" from blasting

    Well, this is why I don't play PoE. Following a guide to play a game makes me feel like a passenger rather than a player, and I'm way too stupid to understand the game on my own. RIP.

      I really don't find this game to be that complicated. Yeah, it's a deep game, but I feel it's far more approachable than most Arpg or MMOs. I'm fairly new but have been playing for a while now and never felt the need to seek out a build guide and haven't been having much trouble wrapping my brain around the different mechanics. Like yeah, I imagine for meta power gaming you need to do some homework but I have no interest in that shit. I've been having a ball just winging it.

      I’m new to the game and the genre and I’m loving it. I also haven’t felt the need to seek guides because im not trying to be the best in the world. Just go with the flow and have fun making mistakes and learning along the way.

      I think that's how many new PoE players feel when they give it a chance. If you're just following a guide, it actually feels like you're a passenger and not like you're playing a game. You work your way through an external operating manual to reach your goal at the end. And as a new player you are basically doomed without a guide. You can have fun without help, but you'll probably drive all of your first characters into a wall. This is something they need to do much better with PoE 2 if they want to get new people into the PoE world.

      you are not to stupid to understand this game on your own and you don't need a guide. all you need is a specific direction for your character and a few common tips.
      you only need a guide for this game if you intend to challenge the hardest content or speed run the game

    it is very clear the why. the necropolis league is just forced in every fucking map you liked or not, EVEN ON THE FUCKING CAMPAIN you have at the second maps roas with 75% physical damage as extra fire, that is FUCKING BULLSHIT

    You want a better rare crafting without spending normal currency? Rog from Expedition. You choose a good rare to start, pick an option that would be good or skip one modification.
    As long as you don't skip two times, you can keep going.
    And these are STRONG crafting options like reroll all affixes, change an element to fire, reroll values (which used to be worth a divine so worth something now) , remove a specific mod , or add a specific mod.
    More people try it out!

    Yeah I play arpgs to get great loot drops not spend ten minutes crafting stuff can’t stand crafting leagues oh well this definitely made D4 look a lot better

      I made the mistake of trying ziz's ea in this league and with the atlas changes garbage map sustain its just pretty much unrewarding

    I just quit a few minutes ago. Even tho I was enjoying my first time playing RF, but man, this league is a mess. Some default mobs mods are very strong, I don't feel like having to fiddle with the mob mods, every single time I put a map in the device. Plus, drop rewards are not worth unless you juiced the mods up the sky, which unironically, make the maps omega rip.
    The crafting, oh my God, the crafting… don't get me started. I really wanted to go less casual, but man, GGG definitely wants their game to be absolutely anti noob. GG, I tried, but I'm done with PoE. Not my game.

    Make the league optional and its problem solved. Its actually so easy to fix this, make it a toggle before entering map and its done, like you said.

    Honestly it's mostly about strait up power of the crafting mechanic. The fact that it's basically either a random rare item if you use only a few corpses, that stops being usefull past act 3, or a full graveyard of selected top rarity corpses to craft a great item (that you could often obtain from other mechanic with far less hassle), and nothing in between is the main issue.

    Improvement to the graveyard is prety simple - make it like TOTA team setup, so we can just drag corpses into graves, not by running to them directly, also some sort function is needed beyond just typing in search,
    idk maybe it is too much to ask, but the craft button should have hinekoras lock on it - so you can look what you will get or some approximation of it and if you are unhappy with what you see - go farm some more till you either fill full graveyard and still unhappy, or finaly you get something worth collecting corpses for more 6 to 8 hours

    Yeah, other than dropping corpses (that I'm not even using, or can easily check price and sell like in the previous league) we get boosted mobs for... why?

      Boosted mobs are the ones you can get corpses from. You cannot have a corpse from a not haunted or devoted mobs. For me the solution would just be to buff corpses to actually be capable of crafting without the need of a full morgue

      @@kaosceI know, but the corpses are for crafting, or selling. I'm a casual enough player that I was really happy of getting the wildwood vendor with 20-100 chaos corpses and that made getting wisps and checking the vendors worth it, plus the extra loot from the wisps was visibly felt.

    I dont understand why they don't just make a league mechanic like ritual, breach, legion again. They do this almost every single league, they overthink stuff and it ends up being a failure of a mechanic and wonder why it has so little retention. These guys are no where near as bad as Blizzard and I appreciate how much they update the game and show they actually care, but they keep repeating these same mistakes. The game is deep and complicated enough in all aspects, why add these new garbage mechanics that you know people will not like?

      I think its cause they ask some "popular" streamer, and like the lil suck ups that they are, ofcourse they say "yes this is great, totally easy to understand, i dont see anything wrong with it.." etc etc. Cause otherwise they might be cast aside and not be given priviledges anymore. Like skipping queues at launch day or such.
      Cause there is no chance in hell that they would have asked any normal player. I have nearly 4,000 hours in PoE and even i have hard time trying to make any decent items with this new system

      @@oramisc90I meant during the development phase where they might contact a streamer directly.
      After that i dont think GGG has dedicated personel to just watch streamer videos so that they dont trash talk their game.
      Just like i'd imagine if you go to your boss' office, you dont start telling him that his company sucks, and he is an idiot etc etc.. but when you are in the bar after work, with some friends, then you just say those things, right ? I'd say its more or less same thing here.
      I mean i cannot think of any other reason (other than GGG being utter idiots) how they could fuck up a league this bad, all on their own. Like they dont have QA testers ?

      but it does shine on me on mapping tho, even tho it's harder but I'm starting to see more reward in dropping (not crafting XD but the patch coming today so).

      @@oramisc90 Yea thats kinda what i mean. If they had a ptr and had some non-workers in it. Those people must have known that if they say the new league is utter trash, they wouldnt be invited to the next ptr.
      Or they only used in-house people, who dont see anything wrong with it (as they were the ones who made it)
      or they dont feel like getting fired by laughing at the new league and telling the truth that it sucks ass in every conceivable way imaginable

    Something approachable like harvest cracks me up. In harvest league you actually had to plant your harvest and use juice to make them grow (there was a literal spreadsheet on how to make most efficient harvest). You also had to store your crafts in your harvest crafting bench so buying crafts needed a discord server where you gave your item to a random for crafting. Lootable juice is a pretty new thing and it was a complete mess before it.

    now to the issue, i have yet to have any issues with it at all, this might be because my build i uneded up using was far stronger then i assumed. so my viewpoint is wierd. sad that people are stopping, can also be because its teh leage after the most insane gear drop league ever...

    one of two fixes is just make the difficulty mods also have reward mods so it feels worth doing it or have a player based toggle, two little buttons at the bottom of the lantern ui that is either cancel allowing you to enter the map normally or a accept button.

    IMO, gimme more bodies, sometimes i think people feel alot of apprehension because they feel like bodies are valuable. If we just had tons of bodies we would feel less bad about just gambling bodies away. One of the positives of Harvest league was that despite being complicated you didn't feel bad for dicking away 2000 or 3000 juice to just re-roll a desirable base 50 times because crafting currency was just that readily available.

    Ingame interface to see a modifier for an item, then see the % chance to roll it after holding over some currency over it.

    I'd like to see corpses have their effect multiplied by ten or more, and made comparably rarer. That way they actually do something impactful, and fewer corpses overall means less issues with the small storage. And adding a way to skip the mechanic, like already suggested.

    Well i play chieftain righteous fire , so i just click enter , never read the mods on the lantern, it all feels the same. But the grave crafting, let me put it this way, if it was a IRL minimum wage paid job to go and make specific grave crafts i would quit, and GGG thinks am gonna do it for fun?

    its even worse for a new player, I have no idea how modifiers truly work so most time I would end up making Invincible monsters is not really fun, the second is the graveyard without any understanding how to craft I would make an item that looks crazy to get some yellow Meh item ( 2-4 link socket chance NOPE here's 2 every time).

    Kinda an unfortunate time to start getting into poe; you’ve encountered a friction league. We’ll see if it recovers, i skipped Kalandra, Sanctum and expedition and i think it was a good save of my time.

    I have been playing since closed alpha. I just had a two year break against my will and started this league two days ago. This league is so simple I can't believe people are complaining! I haven't seen people whine like this since aisling one shots in betrayal lol

    Hey man, great video! An nice job bringing new people to PoE!
    I got caught by surprise when you said that this league has the lowest retention of all. I have played this game on and off for over 5 years, and the last time I played was in Lake of Kalandra, the former champion of low retention.
    I could see some similarities, mainly on overtuned and unskippable mechanics on map and a kind lame league mechanic. But it's nowere as bad, in my perception. In Lake of Kalandra, they introduced the archnemesis mechanic (a mechanic that give some nasty buffs to the mob based in their modifiers) to every rare mob, which made some combinations, specially essence mobs, literally unkillable. And the Lake of Kalandra itself was really boring, just a map with a miriad of small bonuses. And lots of archnemesis rares...
    Compared to that nightmare, this league is a breeze :D
    So, in my opinion, there are also other factors for this league low retention and overall dissatisfaction. First and foremost, at least among the people that I know, is that everyone is just tired or burnedout of PoE. Affliction, the last league, was the one with the highest retention, and everyone that I know played their brains of. Even in the last month of the league, wich I played to warm up for this league, there was a lot of players. So, many people are just quiting because they are tired, and this league just don't give the same kick, it's just overall less rewarding and much more work.
    Second, the crafthing mechanic itself has a poor User Interface, and need some more work (that they are doing...but yeah, GGG is not famous for their UIs). But, the complexity problem is not just about the mechanic itself, but how crafthing works in general. All other crafting mechanics where just layers to simplify or garantee the basic crafthing mechanics, and are worthwile because the base itself is just really complicated to deal with it. If you think about it, all the currency we use in softcore is just crafthing resources. This is not a new problem, and the league just highlighted it, instead of adding one more way to get arround.
    Anyway, I'm hopping that this league can be saved, because I'm having a lot of with it :D

    I honestly prefer Warframe system -- when it's a gear check, it's about gear that you can obtain with some grinding, not a random output of a slot machine where the result required can never come (in the power of how many equipment slots you are required to fill). Of course, it also takes some knowledge to put together properly -- but that knowledge if far less obscure and far more straightforward.
    Casual clicker games like Diablo clones do not require insanely complex systems on top of that to have fun. Look at the most fun leagues to see that. Playing a game is fun. Listing through spreadsheets is not. Even less so when it is _required_ to play a game to any notable extent.
    It's like in hardcore combat flight sims some players are getting way too involved in cockpit and instrument manipulation, forgetting the main game is out there, not in the cockpit. Being able to set up things your way do give you some flexibility and may smooth the result, but the point is getting iron on targets or intercepting those who'd do that to yours -- not setting your 'return to base warning' deep inside fuel menus of flight computer of some F-16.
    And yes, there's also a huge problem with GGG and 'winning the game'. Returning to the first example, you can choose how will you win in Warframe, with lots of options and ways to do that. In PoE you just hit a wall if your gear isn't good _enough,_ where this 'enough' quality is insanely high, closer to maximum attainable. Can you destroy the game with best in slot items? Absolutely. But even then you are more or less pigeon-holed into specific builds, specific items and, most importantly, specific play styles. And if your items are not best in slot ones? You start to fall behind -- like, sharply, very promptly discovering that you plainly can't do more and more stuff. Like Nyx slamming into some buffed yellow mobs (them being multiple-essence ones being the best example). Yes, you can still make do, probably ignoring some content... but the less the your RNG results are (remember, these are represented not by sum or even multiplication, but by power of RNG machine output), the more you are shoved into that pigeon hole you aren't guaranteed to like. And if you're not liking the play -- you quit.

    I've been playing long enough to see this every leauge like clockwork - people are comparing the meta hyper-optimalization of builds and harming they got to in the previous leauge to ma fresh leaugestart in a meta that has to be figured out first.
    Ask anyone what was 'the best leauge' and you can 100% find that quite a lot of people were saying it's the worst on week one when it came out.

      I call recency bias on that. Kalandra league made it impossible to even sustain white maps on week one, and you had to go back and forth between maps and Act 10 areas to get them. Considering Archnemesis was also still fresh and extremely deadly without much clarity in information and visual, Kalandra was the worst league, and nothing else came close, especially if we're talking first week of release

      @@acbeaumo people need to start staying away from content creators too. These sad music, melodramatic videos are being made 3 days in? Are you serious? Almost every single league has released with problems. Just last league even. Affliction was too hard in the campaign and people complained it wasn't rewarding enough. Look what happened once people figured it out. It was the most rewarding league since Ritual league. Harvest league was way more divisive crafting league and had major, long lasting effects on the game as a result. Necropolis league will be a drop in the bucket and no one will care that it wasnt "the best league ever" after Affliction. The whiplash from Affliction is making people think this is the worst league of all time. Its not even close.

    I don't think they can make it optional because I believe the monsters are actually core, and they are going to spring this one us next league like archnem, where you no longer get to arrange them. I say this because I went to SSF standard in frustration and found that the league options were gone as expected but there were still some Necropolis buffed monsters in the game. So I think they are core, and not telling anyone. They also show up in Kirac missions, but of course we can't arrange them there either.

    Revamp the crafting options to include more base items, make the league optional, and up the rewards for the work so it feels worth the players time. That's the gist of what's needed.

    So far, I haven't really engaged with the mechanic beyond collecting corpses when given the option. Last league is where I really buckled down and "learned" the game, taking 7 or 8 characters to end-game, learning how to use guides, trade etc. This time around I'm just going slow, using my own build with no end-game in mind. I just want to see if I can clear the campaign on my own, and the overall patch for the league seems good. However, I would DEFINITELY like the option to turn on the lantern, as I've already run into a couple of really tough mobs/elites that were a real chore to get through and I don't even engage in crafting to any really advanced or intricate level anyway.
    I can see how this is an issue for veteran/hc players though. It seems like an easy fix would be to allow choice at the doors and fix the loot and crafting tables. Might be a little trial and error there, but doesn't seem like it should be that crazy of an undertaking.

    "Meh." is my conclusion.
    It's neat to be able to make an item that's directed in a way you want, with the right-ish modifiers, but it's a hassle to manually fill each grave.
    Then again, I'm looking for very generic modifiers this league- life, ES, mana, resistances, lightning damage- so I just pick up the corpses with said modifiers, and when my morgue is full I just fill the graveyard. Is it wasteful? Probably. But I don't care enough to put in extra effort, let alone thought.

    Required: make it so that if you place a corpse it can be picked up without penalty.
    Hopeful: Increase the size of the necropolis stash and the morgue (literally triple them) but make them not tradeable.
    Wanted: Full control over basetype; exclude fancy basetypes like vermillion rings, etc..
    Bottom line: If I can't get a ring to be an amethyst ring or AT LEAST a two-stone, Why would I ever use it?

    Opting in or out aside, here are some ideas
    The base spirits that buff mobs should have the minor rewards added, and all the devoted be only high tier reawrds but be more rare.
    More frog drops to match scary mod frequency.
    As for the crafting, maybe not an idea for everyone, but giving some mod spreadheet data from craft of exile in game would be helpful, not only for the crafting, but would also be an intro into learning how that all works. Instead of just telling us "this craft will have higher weighting on fire mods", show us what potential mods are affected and maybe even how much. Dont need the whole mods list every time, just affected mods.

    I’m more in the same boat as you…(newer player, only my 3rd league and still learning a ton) that being said this mechanic definitely isn’t as fun or as easy to engage with as Affliction but I’m liking all the other changes that have come with this patch and feel this is an easy mechanic for GGG to buff up and balance to favor the player a little more in both crafting and the Lantern mechanic itself

      Funnily enough, this is the first time where I DON'T see what easy way there is to buff out the annoyances without reworking vast swathes of it. Usually it's mostly minor things that need fixing, but this league feels like death by a thousand cuts.

    For me the issue is that we have not many guarantees in the league mechanic. Like we can have belt be stygian vise but can't choose ring to be chaos res one, with mods on low budget we can have for example more chance for fire mods but there is no guarantee, overall it will still mostly be shit as its better to just id items because u simply get more chances for mod u want. So what if i can have 300% multiplier on fire mods if i can just id every sceptre and get better result.
    With harvest if we reforged fire we get one guaranteed fire mod which makes it better on low end.
    Talking about quality of life why are there corpses that give +1 socket up to max 4/5/6 instead of one rare corpse that would give for example items has max sockets (we have that suffix on expedition, same with linked sockets so i don't see why we cant have it here).
    Overall i think it would be better to have more limited space in the graveyard but have corpses that give stronger effects or special stats

    Here is idea - since we craft with corpses, how about a large set of new unique mods called "posession", with the necropolis mechanic called "soulforge". Basically you use corpses to create "lesser", "larger", or "legendary" souls of categorized heroes of the past of the lore of PoE's world (categorized being warrior, mage, necromancer, etc. to reflect possible crafts), to make rare items that that also have features of unique items in game, like for example "Posession: Soul of Daresso" mod: "Trigger level 20 Dancing Devrish on critical strike" or smth, and depending on whether lesser, larger or legendary can be the mechanic or the level or roll of it. You also roll the rest, or maybe not, but regardless, since the madness that is current PoE crafting already, why not make the ability to make unique-like features.

    i'm kind of a crafter in this game, by all means not advanced, but graveyard for me cut off a lot of potential to craft certain items (the market for mid-endgame ele-bows for example) since you can basically guarantee 3 t1 prefixes, also +1 arrow quivers, rings, gloves (with the exeption of temple mod gloves), fast/high margin boots craft is also dead, because you used to be able to make them with fracture suffix (essence spam to finish) and then isolate it with beast meta craft + veiled chaos for +30 movement speed.
    Basically the league mechanic snatched those crafts and i'm a somewhat new player, so i know how to make and profit with only those methods that i used to self craft my own gear previously. (i do not dabble in fossil crafts, cluster jewels and many other things i didn't have to learn yet because every profit craft i learned - i learned out of necessity to make a piece of gear for myself).
    That being said, the league mechanic is boring and tedious, (even the storage for corpses is less than the graveyard itself, that's just bs). And so to learn this (also being late to the party when the market is not so hot already) for this one league (no way it's going in core game) is just pointless.
    And to top it all off countless strats i didn't even have a chance to try because of all the nerfs pushed me out of the game eventually for this league.
    in the end all that are problems related to this particular league, but what bothers me much more is all this mid season nerfs, if that is a trend for future leagues - the game might be dead for me and that is sad.

    I think we'll have to wait for PoE2 to get accessibility for new players. There's just too much packed into 10+ years of game for me to possibly digest it beyond the most surface level as a new player. I have no idea how crafting and many other systems work and I'm not even really able to identify good items that drop without tools.

      Sadly it was always like this. So many things in poe 1 take time and practice. You need someone to help with crafting or sink a lot of currency to try it out yourself. This is one of the reasons people still play even after 1000 of hours

    they need remake cratfting from ground to such mechanics of leages to work we need to know weaghts of parametrs with % and what actualy any orbs(crafting things) gives without going to internet to look, not silly wordings. How i can craft anithing if i can't see in game what paramets has as tags, what difference in probabily between t0 and t8 paramert and so on.

    The issue is people are not learning by themselves , most are using guides and calcualtors and the game was getting away with it easily so far . And now when you hae ultra bad avarage reward league and only pumping up difficulty by default - shit exploded . There should be equal amount of upside and downside on the mobs , sometiems its just 4-6 downsides and as for upsides ... they are rediculously bad in general .

    Sooooo, maybe it's because I play the game without any guides or looking up builds, but I kinda have just winged it this season and I'm having the most fun I've had with this season. I have kinda just ignored the grave crafting mechanics I don't understand and go after what my build I've been using calls for... keep in mind, I've spent a long time just I playing the game without help, (minus a couple of Google searches and asking friends here and there) but im also super casual. I don't even read the bubbles of the monsters before going in... I havent hit any walls or found anything I can't kill. Maybe it's just me, but I've had a ton of fun this season just going through it without sweating the details.

    Biggest problem I have with the crafting is that the resulting base type you get is so random even with the reroll and attribute blocking corpse mods. There's a lot of potential to get amazing explicit mods, but it doesn't matter when the base type you get is so wrong for your character. Let us put in the base type we want to craft on (a la the Harvest Horticrafting bench).
    Also boggles my mind that they decided to make this mechanic mandatory in every zone when: A) the rewards don't scale enough with the amount of danger we're forced into, B) we're coming off of a very successful optional league that had a degree of difficulty control (more wisps = harder, less wisps = easier), C) the last league where the mechanic was forced in every zone, from my recollection, was Betrayal which came out 5 and a half years ago. Every other league in between has given players the option to not interact with it.

    I'm not entirely sure why there would be so many upset people 3 days after launch. 99% of players haven't done a whole lot yet. For my part I have missed clicking the lantern before I enter an area about half of the time, and yet I have not noticed the effects at all. (I am playing a perforate/absolution Inquisitor if that affects my experience at all) The crafting is above my pay grade so I can't say anything about that. Hopefully everyone can find their own pace and place, Libertea be with you all.

      They have died cause of shit mobs cause they had a very bad modifier. I tried my char before league in standard and had 0 deaths in acts and was lvl 70. I do the same witrh better defenses and being more carefull in necropolis and i got slapped 4 times by now cause of rares and magic feel constrant pressure and not even lvl 60. This is the difference why people quit. Because if you got slapped 4 times you now probably get slapped 16 times. And feel even more pressure when the character in last league did pretty fine.
      For me personally POE just reinforced that which i hated. These stupidly overpowered rares getting more overpowered cause of modifiers you can not put off. you can only gamble.

    I don't know what people are so mad about. This league spits out a bunch of neat rares to level with, and it's not like it's that complex. Just take ten seconds to defuse the worst mod combos before you enter an instance. I haven't had a single problem thus far. I've been able to easily progress while upgrading weapons and gear without issue without Craft of Exile (which I didn't even know existed until now).
    I think the speed demons have just gotten far too comfortable with the idea of blasting through the campaign every league, and don't think about it at all, and now that they have to actually pay attention to the early game, they're mad. Just add an option to skip the main campaign for veterans, and it'll be fine, I'm sure.

    I think it's a terrible idea to take your opinions from reddit. They've historically complained every single league and are just impossible to satisfy. This is the easiest the game has been in quite some time, this doesn't even come close to affliction in terms of difficulty. Opt in or not, it's genuinely not that hard. Most of the difficulty in PoE's leagues stems from the mechanic also applying to other league mechanics. Such as how in last league we saw affliction juicing abyss/legion/breach mobs to absurd levels. The crafting may or may not be good, but it's definitely not fun to interact with, on this I would agree with the community. But we saw people completely trivialize affliction last league, the complaining we're seeing now is genuinely just how reddit reacts every 4 months.

      I'm probably in the minority but the mechanics feel nice. Like it's not eye popping, grindy, blasting league but definitely a weird one in a good way. Imagine getting high rewards for adding mods to a mob that the mobs can't even use like +4 skill projectile to melee mobs or pack leader has 400% health but the mon doesn't have a pack leader.
      The UI could probably use some improvements but players already have the advantage over the league. Even the graveyard craft? Effortlessly grinding through maps, i seem to have a lot of attack and elemental types of corpses, craft it and result in 2 divs due to high eledamage + atk spd + crit multi + phys.
      I prefer this over affliction anytime. Although i like some mobs in affliction and some of their ascendancy nodes but the mechanics itself, i prefer necro.

      I would argue that the corpses aren't that much of a reward. Like you might get a decent corpse for a craft you are doing for killing a difficult mod on a mob, but chances are you don't get anything or another +50 to mana tier mod. It just feels bad at this point and needs a buff or to be able to at least choose a base.

      I agree. As Mathil stated in his video, the main difference between the buff of monsters in affliction and necropolis is, that we can now see the actual numbers on the mods. Its realy not that bad and you can still get rid of the worst possible combos when you dont just rush through. In a way its the same as reading the mods on a map before using it.
      As for the crafting: as a newer player i actualy find it more intuitive than some of the other methods. Its the nature of crafting in this game. And while high end crafting might require craft of exile, so does every other high end craft option. Its just how crafting is in this game: complicated.
      Also people refuse to use the atlas for the necropolis mechanics. Id agree that this would be bad if we had only one atlas. But we have 3 now. So spend some generic points into it on them. you dont loose anything compared to previous leagues.

      @@zombiesimic9904 there's mods to at least define which base you want like armour doesn't have str requirement. My maps aren't juiced either to get a good corpse. I just specced into mapping nodes. The problem is the amount of experimentation is not that frequent. I made good crafts like 3 out of 6 crafts from the start of the campaign. 2 of the crafts are div worthy.

    Honestly my biggest gripe with Necropolis is the fact that they messed up so badly with several leagues of monster modifiers back when they introduced Archnemesis mods into core game. It was glaringly obvious back then that people didn't like that at all. Then they gave us patch after patch of excuses and semi-bandaid fixes until it was finally back at a playable stage.
    At this point they promised to work on making mods on minions more obviously visible, rooted out several of the more deadly combinations. After months of having a mess with mobs people finally thought this dark chapter of PoE history was over, and monsters are back at a normal level again.
    Now we have it all over again. Deadly modifiers that basically might as well be invisible when it comes to spotting them on monsters, with way over the top modifiers that tell you nothing at all from the description alone. Just this time it is not limited to rare mobs, but this time also white mobs will randomly one shot you. They messed up badly with monster modifiers not too long ago, and now they bring that all back once more. The already shaky trust in GGG as a proper dev team was already suffering from this madness back then and barely got back to a semblance of what it should be over the last few leagues, only to be crippled once more now. At some point I am just sick and tired of silly league mechanics and just want to play core game. If only it had a thriving trade base in standard, I'd never even touch leagues.

    One of the main issues I have is that while I'm sure that killing more mobs with harder mods contribute to a higher likelihood or larger number of positive mods in future area, that isn't actually communicated to you in any way. It's just a sort of, "Yeah, make 80% of the mobs in the map do triple damage and something good will probably happen in the future, trust me bro," situation which makes the harder mobs feel deeply unsatisfying. If killing the mobs got you points that filled up a bar somewhere to help visualize what is actually happening and the value of the higher tier mods in terms of future rewards I think that would go a long way towards making the mechanic feel a lot better.

    I don't mind the lantern being non-optional tbh, but the negatives either need to be toned down and/or there needs to be a payoff.
    As for the actual crafting, I'd need an additional thousand (okay, hyperbole) corpse slots to stop it getting annoying during mapping. Can't even ignore the corpses because they are displayed over loot and sometimes you need to pick up a corpse to get at the loot below it. But before you can pick up the corpse you first need to delete another corpse ... while in an active map. I'd like at least an option to hide the popup while in a map or the ability to trash a corpse without picking it up.
    The UI feels clunky, deleting corpses from Necrodude needs too many clicks imo. And the corpse craft UI could do with some buttons to filter by effect (fire -> flame, cold -> snowflake, basically what's below the enemy healthbars) and corpse type to save you some time when searching for stuff and not spend a minute looking for a corpse only to realize you managed to misspell something.
    // edit: Oh, right, also make it somehow somewhat more predictable to figure out what the outcome might be, picking stuff up off of the ground is more likely to get you something you might actually want/be able to use.

    In addition to what they are fixing, I wouldn't mind GGG giving us casual players a 'permanent SSF easy mode', where certain complex mechanics are effectively dumbed down but still give us the same loot and progression. Making it a permanent SSF even when it goes into standard would make any items obtained from that character not negatively affect the rest of the game's market and economy.
    Edit: call it sandbox mode if you will, kind of the same train of thought.

    one of the reasons is prob the last league. i believe ggg already knew something like this would happen, after the dopamine bomb we had on aff. Im not saying that it is the only reason why ppl are leaving (the lack of drops when we compare to last league), but, thats "for sure" one of the big reasons and the drop on player base was already considered before necropolis came out. The point is, if they realy considered it, i hope they also consider the problems necro has, otherwise, we may not see good QoL changes any time soon.
    Make it optional;
    Increase the corpse limit;
    Other things pointed at lily's video, like the small stash we got.

    I’m actually enjoying this league a lot but it’s in spite of the league mechanic, not because of it. It’s my first league ever so I’m still having fun, but so far I’ve pretty much ignored the grave crafting completely because of how confusing and convoluted it is. I’m also not a big fan of the mandatory mechanic on maps as it seems you get massively buffed mobs with no buffed rewards in return. I really hope the patch improves things and people come back!

    The Problem with Necropolis is with buff of enemies. Crafting is less of a problem, you can just ignore it. But buffs to T16 juiced map on league start char - is near game breaking.
    Making it skippable - might help

    im enjoying the map side of this release and happy with it im playing softcore so it doesn't matter if i die (and tbh im dying more than usual, but also the campaign did seem a lot longer time wise, with more mobs than i remember from previous relesaes) , but i do think it should be optional, either always on or always off not on a per map basis , but, the crafting should be you start with a base item say ilvl 83 wand then the corpses are added to that so you can always at least get ilvl83 for eg, as ive used lvl 75 corpses and because i had 1 lvl 40 corpse it just makes a lvl 40 item im 83 if you had to add the base item that we at least make it deterministic in a certain way, this would in effect make it the same as craft of exile - But the crafting i just go in for sake of it or having too many corpses, also the 64 limit is a joke, why not just stack all the modifiers, i had at one point yesterday 9 +1 implicit why is that taking 9 slots, and not 1 slot x 9 :)
    But, crafting you can choose to do it or not, but the map one should have opt out option

    Let it sit for a week.
    People are still getting off of last epoch which has very deterministic crafting.
    I guess the ui for it does feel kind of clunky though.
    But the potential is crazy. 40% increased effect stacking with more adjacent things.
    Dump garbage corpses on a randomizer corpse.
    I dunno. Seems fine. Just gonna take a week for people to do something crazy.
    The other issue is that we can already do insane crafts. Not to mention the crafting needs to compete with rog which... gl. He can make some crazy items for less effort.

    This league needs a lot of help. I think it's possible to fix it, but it needs help.
    For the lantern: I think they need to have a singular 'dead' slot at the bottom that you can trash a mod in if your build can't handle it. That's it though, the risk/reward otherwise is fine for now.
    Second: the corpse need a massive QoL boost. Corpses should not be huge banners that cover up the battlefield, hide other items behind it, etc. They should be items, just like everything else. Also the UI is nothing short of a mess. That's solvable though, Archnemesis league had similar issues with UI.
    And third: They absolutely must buff corpse crafting. There's this idea of 'borrowed power' with leagues. The reason why they can nerf the players as much as they do is because they add that power back through league content. We had literally new ascensions, with charms that could create entirely new builds last league. This league we have nothing. Crafting leagues usually come with some amount of borrowed power purely by the strength of the items you can make. But that's not the case here either. Because you can't choose the base item, and because you can't even make the powerful modifiers (like hunter influenced, for example), you will never be making anything greater than what you can find off the ground. Yes, the haunted modifiers exist, but those are extremely underwhelming compared to, say, Crucible's weapon tree modifiers. This is the trickiest part they will need to do to save the league. But they have to add corpses that: fracture modifiers, add influence, elevate modifiers, some absolutely insane shit that we've never seen before. Only then will people feel the need to engage with the mechanic to get the best rewards.

    In my opinion the League IS okay as a concept but i would Like to See them do mixd mods. Like 1-5 additional projektiles and 1-5 additional Chance to Grande orbs.
    Additionaly i would Like to See the lantern becoming an Item that you could equip or unequip in your character Screan a little Like Back in the tainted League i forgot the Name of

    I don't really follow guides, and I have no problem with this league. This isn't the first unskippable league, and hopefully it won't be the last. That variance needs to exist. I definitely don't want all of them to be this way, but I enjoy the fact that it happens in rare cases. It's certainly not as rough as being assassinated in menus like in Betrayal. People make a big deal about how hard these modifiers are, but you usually can't see how crazy the league mechanics make monsters. This is one of the only times we've been shown it, so it seems really crazy, but this is by no means the craziest it's been. The crafting UI could use a lot of work, and it would be cool if my youtube wasn't three "PATH OF EXILE IS BAD NOW" videos all the time to dampen the community's spirits even more than encountering a minor increase in difficulty does. But really, I'm having a good time.

    poe needs melee rework for years now, same as ascendancy reworks. and ggg puts in the 5th crafting system nobody wanted. im just disappointed and skipped the league entirely

    Agree with your point about the game being developed for the base that can no life the game. The acquisition of power and currency in this game is based solely on time spent in the game and ability to use third party tools. I play on console and none of those are an option. Also agree on your points with crafting, I will never be involved in the crafting portion of this game as it's incredibly over complicated and in addition even if you do figure it out the amount of resources it takes to get what you want out of it is crazy. Love the game but they need to develop currency mechanics that the entire base can capitalize on to acquire the builds that the top 1%ers are acquiring without having to quit your job.

    played since essence league and always went for around 36-40 totem, actually quit day2 as well, just... wasnt feeling it anymore, just another league to waste 80hours on, make few mirrors and leave, so I just ended it early.

    Toggle option for lantern, also last league was one of the best leagues ever. People like loot leagues this league has big shoes to fill.

    Crafting leagues are niche by default unless they're stupid overpowered like Harvest. They've since learned how bad that was for the game and player expectations so this one is heavily neutered in comparison. I saw a video of a guy spending 2 days gathering specific corpses to do a full graveyard craft for his build and getting a pretty good item. A pretty good item for many hours of annoying micromanagement with the mechanic's systems and UI. For some people this is probably fun and fine, but for most it's so much busywork required for any dopamine.
    And then you have the enemy buffs mechanic which just sucks. Like, straight up awful idea. No way to opt-out, some spicy modifiers, no extra rewards a lot of the time, and the times that you get the rewards they rarely make a visible difference and feel pointless, when they aren't bugged out (many players complaining that the Nameless Seer didn't spawn in their map correctly for one).
    PoE can't be putting out underwhelming shit like this when they're finally getting some real competition in the scene.

    As a relatively new player, I like the idea of crafting but this game is already such a information overload that adding a mandatory crafting league to everything else is just another hammer fist to the head. I've basically just been ignoring the mechanic as best as possible.
