Satin is a specific weave and so is crepeback I believe. It’s more about the look (shiny), while the quality of the fibers handles the feel. The fraying is its own mess that makes me believe it’s just generally poor quality. If the bridal satin isn’t working as usual, I’d especially stay away. Speaks to poor quality control at best and poor practices at worst. Sucks you lost all that crepeback satin money.
I'm glad I'm not the only on that thought so! And I am terrible about ordering swatches. I've been forcing myself to do so for this build and I am SO glad I did.

I was so surprised, I really thought crepe back was the safe option to try. I never thought it would be that bad. 😭
Those swatches seem so unprofessional. I like the amount but the fraying!!!! I consistently forget to order swatches and sometimes pay dearly for it
