I honestly cannot believe i'm 28yo and just "discovered" I could intentionally bend pins. I had several mind blowing moments watching this.
When did she show that?
@@Claire18Hi 10:50
you can buy bent ones too. I just get them at rite aid and they are already bent.
Probably bc it depends on the kind of pins you’re using (some of them can’t be bend)
She's the last pin bender
I don’t know or care to know anything about ballet.... but this girl literally always has me watching these. She’s so well spoken and gorgeous!
SAME YO, I’ve watched every one of her vids
She is Beauty!
even if you aren't a dancer you could honestly use that braided bun - I love it and totally am going to use it in and out of class
Same, her blue eyes are absolutely mesmerising ❤️
And she has the absolute coolest name on the planet IMHO... 💁🏻♀️
I just realized I've watched her grow her hair out
Fun (to me anyway) fact: it’s not called a “romantic” bun because the ballet is especially romantic in emotion, but it is named after the Romantic Period- basically it’s an 1840s bun. That was how most women in the 1840s wore their hair everyday. And it’s really easy to add ornamentation to a hairstyle like this, with a decorated headband.
Dixie DIY has an evening bum version of this (complete with an 1840s ball gown) that goes through both how to do the hair itself, and how to make an 1840s decorative headband.
Oooooh thank you!!
👍🏻
Scout Forsythe literally sounds like the name of the protagonist of an action movie geared toward middle school boys, not a prima ballerina
Reminds me of "to kill a mockingbird" lol
Read fountainhead 🤣
@@Sophie-ni8qm YES

*WE NEED MORE SCOUT VIDEOS*
I am absolutely *obsessed* with her
Yes!!
@Miranda Lynn Lol same I NEED MORE CLASSES
Tucking the ends under is genius! Why has this never occurred to me?? I HATE when my bun gets too high and doesnt stay against my head.
Same! I’ve been a dancer for 9 years and I’ve never thought of it
Same! I usually do a cinnamon roll for Voss, and would get frustrated with it not being flat. Never thought of that!
My ballet buns look like regular buns because I have to wrap my hair around multiple times... It's a good trick but I can't do it 😢
Same!! I was like “😦😦 why didn’t I think of this before”
I don’t even do ballet but I cant stop watching ballet videos
Edit:Thank you for the likes I have never received this many. I just posted a new video if yall wanna watch it🐸
Me too, whether it's netflix or another streaming service. Loved "dance academy", have yet to watch "find me in paris".
Same😌 cannot even do a split, or dance in rhythm, but oh boy... Ballet🥰
The shoe breaking in videos are my favorite
Yall making me feel so happy because I'm a ballerina and most people say that ballet is boring
@@CawffeeTyme tiny pretty things!!!!
I love how versatile this information is.
Dancer, teacher, driver, housewife, cashier, doctor, nurse, student. EVERY woman can use this tutorial
9:44 is so satisfying, to see that one piece that was popping out get tucked away :)
I didn't even need to look I know exactly what moment you're talking about ahaha
I thought the same thing! Unfortunately that almost never happens for me when I do buns; I stick 8 million bobby pins in and the lump just dodges them.
I see Scout Forsythe, I click. I'm a simple woman.
Tips for people with shorter hair: When doing a high bun, instead of just pinning your flyaways on the back, twist them together and pin that twist to the back of your head
- A ballerina who used to have short hair
I didn't even know that pins could be bend intentionally.
Scout is so professional it's really a point of admiration. I'm not, typically, a fan of the ballet, however I've become curious. After watching the multiple videos Scout has hosted has completely intrigued my curiosity. After covid is over and the world returns to normal, or at least a new normal I'm going to check out my first ballet.
This is my favorite comment. Stay curious! It's a wonderful thing
Seeing a live ballet in a theater is such a different experience than seeing a video! I highly encourage checking it out. Our Christmas tradition in our family is seeing The Nutcracker ballet every year since I was very young. Just at our local ballet company. It might be a nice introduction if that's a popular ballet where you are located.
h hi ow exciting! if it ends up being a ballet with a story, def check out the story before/after bc even though the ballet will obviously depict it, there aren't words and it's possible the the story may be hard to follow with just the gestures. enjoy!
I do ballet and it is amazing you should definitely go see a show!!!
I just realized what talent and skills you need in order to be a ballerina- an artist, a modiste (sewing pointe shoes), a hair & makeup stylist, an athlete. Brava!!!
My hair is way longer that what she has, so I need some more advanced techniques, but this video is still very relevant because unlike some fancy instructions, this video gives some actual great down to earth advice witch just works, and that's that. She's perfect, and adorable, and I like her.
Same! My hair is almost 3 ft long and over the years I’ve learned how to make a bun that works for me. I personally just twist my hair and then tuck the remaining hair under the top layer, then use a hairnet then 1 or 2 more hair ties and a lot of bobby-pins. Hair nets are a lifesaver!
Kathryn Morgan did a ballet hairstyles video. She uses extensions for some of them.
Omg yay!! Scout is back!!
Yess
I’m a covid RN watching this to get ideas on how to keep my hair in place under my cap. Love this!
Nurse that practices ballet here (and occasionally does some historical reenactment): Believe me, just some of these tricks with bobby pins are VERY useful. Since I have curly hair, just doing a normal bun isn't much of an option, so I usually went for some edwardian/1940's hair do that I use on ballet. There was a week when I had to make a tutorial on instagram cause EVERY nurse and female patient on the floor asked how to do it.
I don’t do ballet but I can’t make a bun to save my life so I need this.
Same haha
I read this as "I make a bun to save my life" and I was like, what is her job that her life depends on her hair bun...?
Scout is the reason I'm subscribed
Same👋❤
Me too
Same 😃
Samesiez!
I watched this while de-shanking my pointe shoes and just ended up mesmerised by how well spoken she is and by how good she explains everything.
I’ve been doing ballet for 6 years and the bending the bobby pins thing is 🤯 GENIUS. How did I never think of that
I love how her easy parts are the most difficult for me with natural hair... but the issues she has with her hair not staying put I dont really worry about because my hair takes any shape I put it in 😂
As a black woman.with Afro hair...volume is something Ive never lacked!🤣
Oh yeah Scout! As an ex-competition dancer, the phrase "spray the crap out of your hair" brings back sooo many memories!!
Using this for my military buns 😂
I was on base with my dad once and had my hair in a bun for Ballet afterwards. I got complements lol.
Omg! This ballerina explained perfectly what i have tried on many occasions to learn about hair and buns. I cannot believe that i have watched countless videos of certain hair experts and been left as oblivious as before, but after watching this video of a ballet dancer and not a hairdresser, i can now master this hairdos. Keep them comming! This woman knows how to explain to a t.
Not a ballet dancer but a nurse and I can't tell how much I needed this.
Love scout she is so motivational
I love this video. The braided bun is what I wore frequently when I was young on a regular basis - for every day, not just for ballet class.
Tuck not twist under is something I needed to hear. The sewing technique sounds good too
Lots of people discovering their pin benders abilities here
I haven't danced in years - I used to jazz until I needed knee surgery - but even just the first bun had me feeling nostalgic. The hairpin technique is exactly what I used to do!
not me learning this and buying a tiara because of binging bridgerton last week
YOU MUST (I MEAN IT YOU MUST) WATCH OUTLANDER. YOU NEED TO.
@@leafsautumn659 I watched the whole series I love period dramas!
@@randalmasri7648 OMG yesssssss it is awesome and the love scenes are great!!
@@leafsautumn659 don't even get me started on jamie he's the reason why my expectations are so high lmao
@@leafsautumn659 Outlander started out soo good but then it turned to a freaking period soap opera 😞
I wish I had this video back when I was a young baby ballerina! My mom had no idea how to help me make my bun and my hair struggled so hard hahaha!
I could watch Scout videos for literally ever
The greasy hair for performances is the ONLY way to go💁🏻♀️
Why did I never think to not twist the rest of the head? It's seems counterintuitive like less twisted hair the more that's not bound.
My hair does not let me tie it in a knot.
Her: fly aways are not a issue when it comes to class rehearsal.
Me: my teacher would like to beg to differ
He chases us with hair spray if we have fly aways
The flyaways distracted me. But no one else.
@@elizabethann5308 same. They also make me feel lousy and tired
@@elizabethann5308 I just remembered that I had a friend that used like 1 hair tie and 5 Bobby pins for a bun. No hairspray AND NOT EVEN A HAIR NET. Of course... our teacher hated this.
Do I do ballet? No. Am I taking lots of notes because I like wearing my hair in a bun? Yes.
Edit: I now wear my hair in that braided bun all the time
I am so obsessed with videos with Scout! She is so fun!
I actually did the double braided bun on a friend of mine in cosmetology school and she loved it
i'll never get tired of her
That bobby pin sewing technique is genius. I’ve been doing since I watched this video and I love how my bun looks and feels!
I really like her! She's so nice to listen to, very cool and relatable
I love Scout and all of these ballet videos!!
My daughter and I just found your videos and absolutely love them. We would love to see a stage makeup one.
I always wear my hair in buns in my daily life and even after years of doing that she's taught me so much I didn't know.
Please more Scout videos, she's amazing!!
Your elegant hairstyles are lovely, Ms.Forsythe.
Her hair color is gorgeous! Going to use these buns for class!
My entire gymnastics Courier (11years~i am 12)i never knew you could bend Bobby pins no more pain for me
She is so beautiful and well spoken
I usually use a a hairnet for class and I do a normal class bun except I split my hair into 2 twists. What a beautiful crown!
Omg the romantic bun looks like it would be so itchy for the ears 😳
YAYYY, Love Scout’s videos, she’s so nice 💖💖
Would love to see how the dancers keep their hair heathy & retain length. All that manipulation, tension & hairspray all day every day would be rough on anyone’s strands!
I don’t have experience with dancing but when I was in the military my hair was a total breakage mess. Had to wear it in a tight bun daily with a lot of product because of the flyaways that tying it up created 😬
Having the front part in separately is part of how the hair is protected. It’s also part of why the spraying happens throughout the process instead of just at the end because overall it ends up needing less tension to stay where you put it. I used to split my hair in a different spot every time I did a tighter looking style as well. My hair is really fine and it was quite long when I was dancing, but my breakage was never too bad unless I also had to wear something heavier in my hair.
I used two of these buns while I was in the marines
I love Scout’s videos!!
I’ve finally found another Scout!
Scout is the best!
She is so pretty! Her face is the perfect shape for different bun hairstyles!
Yeeey! A new Scout Forsythe video! I've been checking every day lol
Forever obsessed with scout

Love Scout!
Her: does amazing braids and buns in 2 minutes
Me: can only do a high ponytail and a low ponytail
This is actually really helpful! My hair's down to my waist now, but I never know what to do with it.
Absolutely in love w this video
Cannot stop watching ballet videos! 😂😍💕
I totally loved this!! Thank you for sharing
Love the Scout content!!
I love all her videos, bring her back soon!!
Wow, this really is such a good hair tutorial!! Although nowhere near professional, I am a dancer, and I can tell this video is just packed with the best tips out there.
I don't do ballet or any other dancing but this is a really got bun tutorial thank you!
She seems to be such a nice/cool lady. Love every video with her.
I would love to see her haircare compared to different dancers
This is really useful for me because I do ballet but I always need my sister or mom to help me tie it but when their not free i don’t know how to tie but now i do yay!
Love these!
LOVE SCOUT!
I love when she does a video!!!!!!!!!!!
I love these ballet buns while working in the kitchen. #noflyhairs! #efficiencyofmovement!
I like to use a darning needle and weave thread to sew on wigs and crowns so I know they aren't going anywhere. Cutting three stitches is faster than pulling pins out for changes too
A great technique and an ancient one!
@@emjenkins464 in blue bye birdie I had 10 costume changes between three characters, and two wigs to switch back and forth. 4 complete make up changes as well. Good thing Nutcracker trained me as a kid, lol.
I do this and have started being able to take it down without cutting the stitches
I remember when scout did her first video and her hair was so short, like a bob. Her hair growth is insane. Im jealous.
I was doing my ballet bun while watching this video ! 💕😂✌
Exactly what I’m looking for 😍😍 thanks
WE NEED MORE OF SCOUT FORSYTHE
I hope she’s okay 💜 her eyes look pretty red- i have v sensitive eyes and it sucks 😫
I noticed that too... could be allergies to something
Or the very bright camera lights in her face...
Or maybe some hair spray got in her eyes...
Love it! Very helpful! 😍 I am saving this
I don’t do ballet but I like buns so glad this was in my recommended 😊
I’ve really enjoyed your videos. Thanks!
My favorite ballerina 💙
Omg her hair has grown so much since the last video
I want to see these same buns done by women with different hair textures.
Pretty much the same way for curlyhair, just switch out seasalt spray for pomade, and you definitely don't need to tease it. 🙂
Yeahh I wanna see some on like rly thin straight hair and also on afro type hair (I think it's called 4c but I'm not sure)
Yes absolutely. I’m a black dancer and I can’t just do these easy buns like her since I have curly hair
Well, you can't please them all, I guess...
@@azoyahnelson9906 - I'm not a dancer per se; I take ballet for exercise. For a smooth bun, my hair has to be set on huge rollers, which stretches it, then I can style my hair into these buns. I wash and set my hair every week and keep it in a low bun as a protective style.
This is vey helpful. Thank you.
I'm going to use this for rehearsal tonight!
Oh yes! I absolutely loved ur buns lol😉
Thank you ♥️
scouts back!!!
Hallelujah! Good sound quality.
