    Why would the touch screen not allow you to change the fan speed from 1? Is it still the motor or is it something else? The fan motor blower was making a high pitch squealing before the control stopped working all together

      If the blower was making a noise that for sure needs to be replaced as eventually it's going to seize up and not work at all. When you say you can't get it to go past speed 1, does the button allow you to increase the speed but the actual motor doesn't change speed? If so that is the resistor motor. 9 out of 10 times the blower motor and/or the resistor is the problem. Rarely does the actual button/control need to be replaced.

    Thank you very much for the excellent video. Everything was absolutely correct and that helped me a lot. Parts avatar where I got the new motor sent me the wrong controller then insisted that it was the right part but it wasn’t the heat sink had pins sticking straight out they will not fit in this car. Anyway thanks again.

      Nothing more frustrating than ordering part and they send you something that isn't correct! I typically order from Rockauto as they always give you an accurate picture to compare and exact trims, vin codes etc to make sure you get the right part. Glad I was able to help and thanks for watching!

    Great video, my only question is why the resistor?

    • @TeamDIYNow
      @TeamDIYNow  Рік тому +1

      The resistor usually is bad when the blower motor only works in speeds 1 and the max. Hope this helps.

      @@TeamDIYNowmy speeds don’t work at all 1-8 at all just stop blowing out of no where

      @@sgtcook3226 Could be the blower. Pull the panel off so you have access to the blower, put car in run and turn blower speed on and tap motor with screwdriver. If it starts, then the blower needs replaced.

    If my motor will not work except on rare occasion and the blower motor was replaced, could it be the resistor. Is there a way to know. Someone said possibly an actuator. Thanks

      When it doesn't work, are you able to turn the fan on the highest speed to see if it kicks on? Typically when the resistor goes bad it will only work on the highest fan speed and not the others. You can sometimes test by checking the resistor ohms with your meter, but the range is different depending on the model. The actuator controls the mixture of hot/cold air so I doubt that is your problem as the symptom on that would be incorrect temp setting vs actual air coming out. I'm guessing it's the resistor, but it could also be the actual climate control system. I would start with the resistor as it's a fairly cheap part. Good luck.

    What model is that bending screw driver?

      It's the Milwaukee M12 rachet 2567-20 (amzn.to/3HZ69I7). Milwaukee makes various other models as well.

    I can't for the life of me figure out how exactly to get the wire disconnected from the blower motor! It just won't release.

    • @TeamDIYNow
      @TeamDIYNow  Рік тому

      You first need to pull that gray clip on the top out as it locks the plug-in place. Either use your fingernail or flathead screwdriver and pop it straight out. Then squeeze the plug and pull it out. Hope this helps.
