People know about Joe Exotic and his former tiger and big cat zoo, but a similar thing happened in Florida. Kathy Stearns had been selling "swim with tigers" experiences for quite a while, but she ended up having to close her zoo and she was ordered never to own a tiger or allow anyone else to bring one to any property she or her family owned or leased!

The South China tiger isn't extinct and you forgot the Indochinese tiger. And the Siberian tiger weighs about 227-340 kg not some flimsy 181 kg.

The South China tiger is believed to be extinct in the wild; that was our reasoning for marking it that way.
The tiger classification has been undergoing major overhauls in the past decade, so it was a little tricky to find a list all sources can agree on - didn't mean to leave anyone out!
Siberian tigers are certainly huge! We wanted to give a general average for the size these cats obtain. Truly amazing animals. 🐯

Male Siberian Tigers can weigh up to 160-190 kg, while females are smaller and only weigh up to 110-130 kg.

We've had this suggested in the past as well. Normally, we don't discuss captive animals anymore as we're trying to stick to wild animals only (there aren't ligers in the wild). Maybe we could do this as a one off or something in the future, though. We'll keep it in mind! Thanks for the suggestion!

They're scarier than lions too. Their roar is known to paralyze prey and Even experienced human trainers.
