Canada lynxes alongside red foxes, northwestern wolves, cougars, bobcats, coyotes, caribou, white-tailed deer, volves, lemmings, weasels, pine martens, beavers, trout, North American river otters, rabbits and some squirrels and chipmunks are my favorite animals from North America who in the winter don’t migrate south like American robins, blue jays, Canadian geese, mallards, lesser long-nosed bats, Mexican long-tongued bats and Mexican free-tailed bats, swallows, monarch butterflies, painted lady butterflies and tiger swallowtail butterflies or hibernate or go into suspended animation like black bears, grizzly bears, groundhogs, chipmunks, squirrels, frogs, toads, bees, ants and woolly bears but rather stay awake all winter and get to experience the joy of it in the process.
My mom met one, she said it was like meeting a lion. You're just not prepared for how scary they can be when you meet one in proximity/confined area. Your brain is so hard wired to think of cats as harmless, when you get confronted with one that isn't, it is just freaky.
That's so interesting, and Canada Lynx are so gorgeous! Our crew filmed a super important conservation project in Spain that is successfully managing to increase the Iberian Lynx population. We're happy to see these amazing species in their natural habitat!
He reminds me of my Cat. Hes a mix breed of Domestic Longhair and Norwegian Forest Cat, he's VERY fluffy right now since the temperatures have been dropping outside. I try to keep him as an indoor only cat but he loves being outside and runs out everytime I open the door, and then comes in a bit later. As a result, he's starting to develope a Winter coat, as if he wasn't fluffy enough already.
They're so cute! My cat jumped up on my desk while I was watching cougars hunting guanacos... she was very interested in watching her cousin hunting! My cat was feral until I tamed her a few years ago. She showed up at my door, skinny and full of worms and fleas. She is super happy these days and often gets the zoomies when she's especially happy like today because it's a sunny morning!
I love how at the end of the video the lynx sort of asked for pets by raising its paws, my cat does that all the time. But now whenever I hear drunk women yelling this cutie is all I'm going to picture
I will never tire of seeing how weirdly cats interact when they're fighting. The way they just kinda stiffen up and then seem unable to decide if they want to smack each other or not is so goofy. The screaming made it even better xD

I actually yelled "How is she so talented??" at the drawing at the end. She's really impressive at drawing animals, on top of making great animal videos. It's inspiring.
This was a great video. You seemed so sincerely excited and honored to meet one of your favorite animals in person. I love seeing people who are genuinely enthusiastic about the subject they are presenting. I have always been a fan of owls and hope to visit a sanctuary or wildlife preserve some day to meet one up close. The closest I've ever gotten is when my local community college found a baby barn owl (my personal favorite owl species!) and kept them in a box until animal rescue could come take them. I was able to take a few photos and watch the little owl for a few minutes but did not handle them. Highlight of my college years, haha.
I had a cat that was part bobcat, and we always remarked how much like a rabbit he looked as he ran around. Little did we know how apt that comparison would be! How fun to learn about another instance of convergent evolution.
That's a myth. Domestic cats and bobcats can't interbreed. There are some domestic cats that look bobcat-like, but none that have been found to actually have bobcat DNA.
Probably a Manx or Manx mix. They have a genetic mutation that gives them a stubby tail and rabbit like back feet, and apparently it's common for them to 'bunny hop' because of it.
When he had her call the day, I immediately thought "that sounds like what I do with my cats all the time." So, I started laughing when Danielle said she charts with her cat every day. 😂 I guess cat behaviors really are universal.

Saw one in the wild once and couldn't believe it. I just watched it while fumbling for my camera and got a decent pic of its rear and back of head with ear tufts and all, as it walked back into the trees. Absolutely gorgeous creature!
They are absolutely beautiful, I’ve seen a lynx one time in my life here in north of Sweden but they are quite rare to get a glimpse of. They are so careful and shy so even though we have quite a lot of lynx here they are almost never seen. That time it was dragging some deer which was almost the same size, which is quite impressive. They are strong animals so it’s important to not get fooled of their sweet appearance 🧡
I got the honor of meeting a bunch of lynxes in Norway not too long ago. I was very surprised when one decided to sit next to me, and others seemed very trusting of me, giving the same slow blink that domestic cats give and allowing me around them in their enclosure. Even got a picture of it on my LinkedIn 😅

Here in Maine we have both Lynx and Bobcats. Though the Lynx are rare I have encountered them in the woods before. As for Bobcats, I grew up in a household where the local wardens would bring us orphaned animals and we would raise them. 95% of those we raised returned to the wild after they reached maturity and most we never saw again (though a few would come back from time to time). The other 5% did not return to the wild and remained on the farm and became part of the family. This mostly consisted of racoons, but we also had a skunk and 2 bobcats that stuck around. The racoons were easy to feed, as for the bobcats, we generally fed them raw chicken and rabbit and they were just as affectionate as a domestic cat...just a lot more territorial. They got along well enough with the animals that were already on the farm when they arrived....but they were terrifying to any stray that wandered onto the property. As for people, they didn't care for strangers and although they never tried to attack anybody...they would stalk them while keeping their distance.
i love when animals naturally make noises that sound exactly like human just trying to imitate that noise. those two lynxes screaming could be two women at walmart being extremely annoyed at each other.
The Walmart part. 🤣 Lots of human/animal comparisons at Walmart. It's like the watering hole on the Serengeti. The Cheetahs who just run through, the hippos who take their time, the gazelles who are just lost in the shelves. 🤣🤣 The lynx's at the self check out.

Before I even watch the video, I've seen a video with two lynx going at it yelling at each other. Absolutely had me hysterically laughing. Sounded like two women going at it over a sale rack in a store. I had to laugh because it was so unlike what I was expecting to come out of a couple cats.

Hi Danielle, just a heads up it is common to hear of sightings of Lynx in Washington state along the border with Canada during the winter. Many of our migratory birds have figured out Washington state is as far south as they want to go and that appears to be just fine as far as the Lynx is concerned. 😄. Some alpine snowshoe adventurers in winter have discovered they were not the only ones enjoying the views of the birds at the lake. 😄
More lynx scream videos that was funny to hear them arguing and standing there ground. About an hours worth of Listening to these majestic cats would do for me! That'll be nice.....
The screaming at each other. 😂 no lie, this happens in our house. We have 7 cats, they don’t all get along, and sometimes you hear a screaming match just like that going on in the house.
I live in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta. I have seen bear, cougar, coyote, well, lots of animals but never the lynx or bobcat. We had pictures of a bobcat only two blocks away from my place here in Rocky Mountain House. Damn but they are beautiful, and I am such a cat person. If I ever die in the mountains, mauled by a cougar, you can bet your last dollar my last words were, "pss pss pss here kitty kitty." lol
I'm pretty sure I am not the only one who immediately thought, "I want one" after seeing it pounce on that poor duck with those cute fluffy paws! I'm willing to sacrifice a limb for some squishes with that fluffy kitty.😍
Amazing animals. I lived in Alaska for three years and encountered a Canada Lynx in the wild. It saw me, stared at me then waltzed off down the dirt road.
The Alaskan dude is living my dream life. He’s eccentric and probably relates to animals better than humans, I’m the same way. I love all cats but lynxes and bobcats are some of my favorites along with snow leopards and Pallas cats. My Maine Coon watched this with me, she was very excited watching the hunting scenes. They are such gorgeous cats and those paws are amazing! ❤😻😽🐈🐈⬛🐅🐆
So beautiful! I was skiing in the woods as a child and ran into a lynx. We both scared the crap out of each other. He ran one way, and I skiied off in the other...
We have two of these fluffy guys at our local zoo and I cannot see them as predators anymore after watching these wild animals hop into boxes and just sit there like the cats that they are.
I see these guys fairly often out in the bush. There is a one particular female lynx I see often with her kittens teaching them to hunt. I always stop, shut my truck off and radio other truckers to let them know where they are at so they can slow down for them. Always a treat to see them out hunting.
Here near the Picayune Strand preserve outside of Naples Florida I hear the vocalizations of bobcats quite often. They sound extremely similar to Canadian Lynx. I HAVE seen Florida Panthers but never a bobcat. Very shy.
I've seen a few lynx in the wild, they're really cool and usually very secretive. I watched a mother with 4 kittens one time. Never heard one scream, I'm sure it would be a very spooky sound if you didn't know what it was.

More lynx scream videos that was funny to hear them arguing and standing there ground. About an hours worth of Listening to these majestic cats would do for me! That'll be nice.....
You two are really brave. To see him pet that cat was amazing!
The screaming at each other. 😂 no lie, this happens in our house. We have 7 cats, they don’t all get along, and sometimes you hear a screaming match just like that going on in the house.
The Swedish Lynx is also gorgeous! But it has a more dotted pattern like a cheeta, and weighs about 20-25kg
16:40 My partner and I have trained her cat to tap our hands when he wants pets. Cats gonna cat.
"Lynx are socially awkward." Me too😬
im so glad you finally made a video on my favorite animal!! ty. i love them sm
I love how their screams sound like a person overdubbed lynx footage with their own weird human noises.
Look at those paws! I love them! I want to pet the forbidden floof!
4:12 Look at those majestic paws... OMFGJDJSJDKDK
Wildcats are absolutely majestic. Love seeing how similar they are to their domesticated counterparts.
I love seeing you guys cover unusual wildlife, like the alaskan lynxman.
I love how she casually talks while the cat litreally preyed and has her lunch
I'd love to see you do an episode about cougars, the largest kitties that can purr! ❤️
The cet with too many names
Puma
Florida Panther
Catamount
Mountain Lion
Cliff Khajiit
So beautiful! I was skiing in the woods as a child and ran into a lynx. We both scared the crap out of each other. He ran one way, and I skiied off in the other...
A video on snow leopards would be cool!
I have never been more envious in my life 💀💀👽
I love how excited Danielle gets about seeing all these amazing animals.
felines are definite my favorite animals, loved this episode!!
We have two of these fluffy guys at our local zoo and I cannot see them as predators anymore after watching these wild animals hop into boxes and just sit there like the cats that they are.
You went with This causes a "hare population collapse" instead of this creates a "receding hare line?" IT WAS RIGHT THERE
One of my favorite episodes - those lynx calls were on point :)
I see these guys fairly often out in the bush. There is a one particular female lynx I see often with her kittens teaching them to hunt. I always stop, shut my truck off and radio other truckers to let them know where they are at so they can slow down for them. Always a treat to see them out hunting.
This animal is so cute. Glad you did an up close video
Gorgeous animals, and it's rare to see them in action, thanks.
Here near the Picayune Strand preserve outside of Naples Florida I hear the vocalizations of bobcats quite often. They sound extremely similar to Canadian Lynx. I HAVE seen Florida Panthers but never a bobcat. Very shy.
I work at a zoo, and watching the lions and tigers and leopards has made me appreciate my cat more too!
I've seen a few lynx in the wild, they're really cool and usually very secretive. I watched a mother with 4 kittens one time. Never heard one scream, I'm sure it would be a very spooky sound if you didn't know what it was.
