- I recently installed a GTW 6" Lift on my 2010 Club Car Precedent. After installing my wheels and tires I was able to complete the alignment.

Nice video! Now I have to find a video that covers the newer lifted Icon carts because they have Struts and I'm learning that they don't have the same adjustments. Dang.
Thanks for posting and I went ahead and subscribed to your channel.
Thank you. I’ll check into them. I didn’t see many golf cart videos on alignment and lift kits which is why I posted my video.
I have a kandi 4pro and just added 2” spacers and now have a negative camber
@@50lightsout Do you have any pics or videos of your project? I'd be very interested in seeing your project. Thanks for the possibility!
I was hoping to see a steering wheel alignment as well
Also was told to toe out in the front ⅛ to¼ but this and the last vid says toe in
Thank you for the great video!!
Thank you! Taking the steering wheel off and repositioning it will work sometimes. Or you can adjust the tie rods on each side the same amount in the same direction until it’s lines up straight.
At 1:55 of the video, how much of that nut should be on the threads? I only have about half that bolt on which concerns me. I’m not able to make any more adjustment to the top. So I’m have to kick the bottoms out to have it straight. Thx!
That is one issue with that particular lift kit. The bolts should be a little longer. I have enough of the nut on the thread so I’m not worried. You can also use locktite on the nut or replace it with a longer bolt.
What if your wheels are good, but your steering wheel is not Straight? I have no more adjustments left on my Tie Rod. Tie Rods are Bottomed out on both sides.
You can try going the other direction to line them up. You might be able to turn the enough to use the next set of holes on the steering wheel if you move both sides equally back the other way.
You could also drill and retap the holes to line it up. If you need help I may be able to explain more. There should be plenty of videos on UA-cam explaining how to drill and tap holes. If you don’t own a set make sure you get a high quality drill and tap set. I bought old school craftsman ones from eBay.
I dont know if I am making this more confusing. But, do you need to have one of the tires perfectly staright to find center when adjusting the toe? In my thinking, if one side is not toed in 1/16, how do you know which side to toe in, or does it matter if they are not evenly toed in on both sides, as long as they are toed in 1/8 of an inch? I hope this makes sense, because I'm a little confused since no one talks about this in any vieos.
Your question makes sense. I am no expert, I’m just a guy doing this stuff himself just like you. However, make sure your camber is set properly first using the square. That’s what needs to be straight. Then take your measurements for the toe. The way I understand it is it doesn’t matter as much as you are thinking. Just make sure approximately the same amount of threads are showing on each side. That will correct your concerns of whether or not one is set in more than the other.
The same amount of thread is what I can’t seem to get, right side is pegged and left is just a few turns and not enough adjustment to bring them anywhere close to matching. This is on a g29 with a 6” SGC an arm lift. Camber was done first and it’s right on.
It’s tough to help without working on it. You can try buying longer bolts and if you still can’t get it right something wasn’t lined up during the install or the lift kit may have had an issue from the factory.
@@DadsToyBox thanks for the reply, I double-checked my entire install and there’s no mistakes I can see. Sure as hell hope it’s not a factory mistake lol !
How’s the ride quality when your riding by yourself with the HD rear leaf springs great video thanks
Thank you! It’s no different with one person. But there’s a huge difference with people in the back, especially adults.
Is that top bolt a 10mm allen wrench?
Yes. It’s a 10mm hex bit. I talk about adjusting that at 2:57 mark in the video
I apologize, my job is so loud I couldn’t really hear lol.
@@LIFTLEGIONCOM no problem. I usually try to also include the text when I work on stuff for when people can’t hear the video. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you so much for the video is very helpful the only problem is is the golf cart that I have seems to only have one tie rod that can be adjusted on the passenger side. All the videos that I've watched show to tie rods that can be adjusted but on my golf cart that I have there's only one on the right side or the passenger side. Is it possible to reach out to you directly?
Sure, I can try to help. Send me an email with your golf cart make, model, and year. Also, take pictures of all your steering components under the golf cart. ajwillits@yahoo.com
@@DadsToyBox awesome I'll do that when I get back from work later on this afternoon. Thank you so much for the reply I appreciate your help
On my 85 Club Car DS, there is no lower ball joint. Will adjusting the upper ball joint allow for the camber adjustment?
I haven’t worked on a DS but if you can retract and extend the linkage on the top joint then you can use it to adjust camber.
@@DadsToyBox thought so! Much appreciated.
I tried 3 different impacts and that 10mm Allen won’t budge.. so annoying..
Ugh. Sorry to hear that. I use Milwaukee Impacts and I’ve never had something I couldn’t break free.
What if your club car precedent pulls to the left
Hey Jim,
Could be a number of problems. Check tire pressure first. Other than that it could be a brake sticking, worn out suspension or bushings. The toe may also need be set correctly. If it’s off, one tire may be pointed off to the left. Just my guesses without having your cart in front of me.
Thank you I have the same lift kit. Will check those things. Tie rods and shocks are new
Are you supposed to have someone sitting in the center to align the tires?
I was able to align the tires without someone else. It’s not as exact as using an alignment machine at the tire shop but it’s just a golf cart.
