Thanks for sharing this! I was intimidated with the entire process of having to paint my model, but this gave me some confidence that texture painting doesn't have to be rocket science.

Objective: project 2D photo over a 3D mesh and get projected texture.
    Blender > Import FaceMesh.obj
    'Layout' Tab.
Texture Properties > New texture. Name:'Text1' (canvas). Image > New.
New texture. Name:'Text2' (stencil). Open face image.
Material Properties > New material. Base color > Select 'Text1'.
    Change mode to 'Texture Paint'.
Tool Settings > Texture. Select 'Text2'. Mapping: Stencil.
Mouse shortcuts. RMB: Translate, RMB+Shift: Scale, RMB+Shift+X: X Scale, RMB+Ctrl: Rotate.

Yes this is very useful technique :). What I would suggest is to set specularity of material to 0 :) while painting textures. With this gloss is hard to see the details :).

Such a relaxed yet informative tutorial. This isn't my thing, but I wanted to understand a bit more about where these images came from, and how they are made.
You have shed so much light on it, and without constantly zooming and rotating your blender POV - only moving when necessary.
    Truly excellent . Thank you.

Wouldnt it be easier to get skin textures of different body areas and use vertex paint to blend them on your mesh?

I agree with "baitfaces". This is THE THING I have been looking for, for so long. Facebuilder is nice but , you CAN make a more realistic face by modeling it yourself then applying the same face to your created mesh. The hard way is still sometimes the BETTER way. More realistic for sure

Hi, first I want to say good video. Because it is good, I just want to give an idea for you to think about: this video is about "Texture Painting a human face with stencils". Yet, half of this video is about UV'ing. If it is relevant, than maybe you should change the title that is more relevant to the overall video. Like "Texture painting a human face with stencils, with the first half about UV'ing" as your title. Thanks bud.
