Close to 20 hours in blender, barely know how to do some stuff. I had to use my ADHD hyperfocus to follow this vid (along with the other 2 from the Trex) and I'M ABSOLUTELY AMAZED BY IT! Thank you so much for making this, I'm thoroughly convinced that I'll be able to do this, maybe at a smaller scale. Not because it looks easy, but because it looks challenging, and the workflow you follow made me realize how trully AWESOME the software is in tackling solutions to problems I didn't know existed. I was already in love with blender but you made it x10000. I appreciate that. Subbed and I'll save up for your gumroads :D
@@martinkobimbo8090 so glad you asked! I made a couple friends in the industry and we've been working and learning together. I'm surprised that 5 months have happened this quick. We made 3 locations for a metaverse project, building from the ground up and making functional props inside it. All in blender. It was a really rewarding challenge. And just this week, I was hired to do a character with animations. So I used sculpting, then retopology and texture painting on adobe substance. Then bones and a bit of animation, nothing fancy. Really happy with the results, specially because this was my first solo paid 3D project. Journey is still going! n.n and it's not gonna stop

Just a quick tip: For game assets, I recommend overlapping isles that are the same, so it occupies less space, receives more resolution and it's already mirrored.
Just wondering if you could do a video on creating Sci-Fi vehicles in blender ( Cars, motorbikes, trucks, mechs) anything that has some futuristic features.
Absolutely amazing sir !!! I'm having trouble finding decent videos on properly utilizing pbr textures to different objects, could you make a tutorial on it?
Excellent tutorial! I am going to try out rough texturing inside of blender inside a future project - I would normally go to Substance, but for concept design and quick-dirty work this may be even better

This tutorial is amazing, but i wish you would have delved more into how you made the scales, im struggling with adding scales and doing masks at that part. Other than that this was a great help!
Sculpt vertex colors can be found in Sculpt or Vertex mode, however i'm also stucked... "in the future" we can't load sculpt vertex colors, so I'm stuck with the dark and very ugly attribute color... if you've found a solution since then, i'd love to hear it !!
Hello, I am following your Gumroad rex tutorial and I am trying to figure out how you select your objects so quickly to duplicate or edit. If I press A it all selects, if I drag my mouse just just lines select. Thank you for your help.
I would consider using this method, but instead I will have mutable image imports. This will really help me save time. Especially when I can not guarantee the UV map and mesh will not change. The last thing I want to be doing is retexturing on unstable meshes and UV maps.
I'm using 3.0 and this sculpt vertex color thing doesn't seem to be there anymore. From reading up blog posts, were they reworking it into something else? I wasn't too sure. Let me know if it's something you know more about.
how do you get the lines on your model to look so, straight and non triangular? i tried to make something and they are all triangular, none of em are straight. lemme rephrase, how do you get such a high res model with so little faces?
as much i like it there were some parts of the video where it could have been explained a lot better like with 2:08 i spent a minute debating with myself on what i should do in blender cus the video just cut straight with the videohaving the node editor and the model changed. all im saying is the pace of the explanation is a little too fast other than that goo ideo
how do i make the small dot appear in the left corner of the UV editor, there's no small dot on my screen and the lines i select don't get painted on the UV editor side
Hi there, very sorry about that, the folder has been updated with the missing file, and should be available to you now, please let me know if you got it!
I don't know why anyone would choose not to use UDIMS when they know they could... Especially when a creature of this size should get more texture space for extra texture detail... Also, you fully rigged it just to get a static pose? Why not just use a lattice modifier?
Hi there, So I avoided using UDIMS because I wantede to potentially use it in a game engine, which generally does not support UDIMS, and I did not rig it just to get a static pose, I rigged it so I can animate it later. But I would also rig a model just to pose it, to faster and more easily play around with a pose. A lattice modifier would not be a good fit for posing sculpts.
Its a very beautiful result, but the Workflow seems to be incredible complicated. I wish for a more intuitive way to create those layers of skin, scratches, displacement and color.
I have a dumb question, but wouldnt it make sense for the sculpt vertex operation to respect the multires modified so we dont have to unsubdivide later??

how do you do this in blender 4? there is no vertex colors

Please upload a tutorial on stylized human character sclupting.
So you dont actually need other softwares like Substance Painter? You can do all that in Blender?
substance painter basically just makes it easier but blender is a pretty powerful tool
damn, that was an amazing technique.
Why just not use two textures with different UV and mix them on top of each other with the mix nodes?
Please do more methods on texturing

What is the advantage of using vertex colors instead of normal. texture paint
Texture paint rely on the uv maps whereas vertex colours rely on vertex coordinates
pls make more
