- Very slow channel surfing on TCI cable in Yakima, WA on the afternoon of March 28, 1993. The VCR stayed on each channel for one whole minute.
For HBO I edited in a blue screen because UA-cam's Content ID saw right through the weak scrambling of that era and was going to block this video.

These are really fun to watch...thanks for posting!
Hi there Jeff,
This is the old VHSgoodies. If you still use UA-cam here and there, all of my channels got terminated in late March. I lost everything, all those old Yakima news and commercial clips included. However, I have been restoring a lot of footage to this channel thanks to the magic of a friend who co-runs this particular account. Can't tell you how it got done, but many of my old KIMA/KAPP/KNDO videos are going back up in the coming weeks. I wish I had your contact info so I could have alerted you sooner, but at least this will give some notice as to what happened. Thanks! - Taylor
In addition, my Internet Archive channel (VHSgoodiesWA3) is alive and well, reposting everything I can, when I can. - Taylor
1 minute per channel? And no-one yelled at you? I used to channel surf a lot when i got a chance to use cable tv , and people would complain "You're gonna break it , changing the channel so much" LOL.
This is neat. Thanks for posting.
Yakima, Washington has a WeatherStar 3000 in 1993
Wow!
I wonder why they repeated The Disney Channel twice, I remember my great grandmother's cable system (Charter back when they were both analog and digital) repeating my local PBS station, but it was silent.
The Disney Channel was in free preview that weekend, which is the only reason I can think of for it to be repeated. At the time, channel 99 had no fixed content, it was used for pay-per-view events only, and was usually off-the-air most of the time.
While you're correct on 99 being used for PPV's, it also aired CNN Headline News.
This was recorded on the last day before a channel lineup change, I intended to make another recording after the lineup change, but I never did. The next day they moved Headline News from 19 to 99.

Do you have any Recordings from the Saturday Morning Block FoxBox?

Would love to know the title of the show that was on KAPP. I remember watching it one time and thought it was the most bizarre thing I've ever seen. The program guide only listed it as "TBA."
I looked up as many of the program titles as I could and put them on here as annotations (you have to watch from a computer to see them). The program on KAPP-35 was listed as "Horrible Secret." I found the listing from Ellensburg Daily Record via the old Google Newspaper archive news.google.com/newspapers?id=81BUAAAAIBAJ&sjid=6Y4DAAAAIBAJ&pg=3690%2C2012600
Just did a Google search on that particular program. Found nothing on "Horrible Secret." I am guessing being that this was taped on a Saturday, it has to be one of those edutainment programs that KAPP was notorious for airing on Saturdays. Do you have video editing software that you can pull the clip? If not I do, but would need your permission to pull that clip to find out what exactly that show is.
I don't have easy access to the computer that I uploaded this with at this time, so no video editing software, but if you want to, I allow you to extract that clip and try to find out what the actual program name is.
