I remember this coming on tv when I was 12 and being extremely happy that I’d found it and then extremely disappointed when none of my friends knew or cared about it. Love this show.
@@mikedestructive - Are you a robot who is learning how to communicate with humans?
I love this show. This is all 680 of us who watched it.
I bought all three seasons on dvd when they came out. I wish they could have made a few more seasons.
What an acid trip Comedy Central used to be. Those were the days 😂
I grew up on it, my friends say I’m funny. I think all the weird shit I watched might of helped. Lol
@@Miniver765 So, you got this guy, right? He's like, "Ah, remember the good ol' days of chuckles?" Meanwhile, Colbert's out here evolving, but this guy's humor? It's like his clock got stuck on MAGA time... or at least that's the scuttlebutt, folks.
"User, Boozer, Loser" has been locked into my brain for so many years. I've finally found where it came from.
“Don’t lock eyes with them. Don’t do it. Puts them on edge. They may go in berserker mode. Come at you like a whirling dervish, all fists and elbows” 😅😅😅😅
we don't have this kind of creative comedy on cable tv anymore
I Think You Should Leave is an excellent absurdist sketch show. Tons of shit out there in the form of youtube channels and tv shows on streaming platforms.

That's the point, shes based off a real person named Florrie Fischer who was a motivational speaker in the 70's.
Strangers with Candy was genius on so many levels. I'm sad I missed it when it originally aired
God bless all of the people who worked on this, especially the core cast and writers. Made a weird kid feel seen and heard!
How did this racist and homophobic show that also made fun of retardation make you feel “seen and heard”?
this show is the reason why I dream that I'm still in highschool at 40.
The fact that I still get high school dreams is the reason I stumbled upon this show.
This clip will help make you feel a little bit better. Promise. Underlying truth is that “in our heads” we never really want to admit that we are growing older.

RIGHT??? Wth I ended up loathing tv shows post 2011/12ish cuz the quality went to shit . All about cameos n shitty gimmicks . I can tell this is an older show but it must’ve slipped passed everyone’s memory log smh . 3mins in and I can tell there’s something worth tuning in for even L8tr
@hailesankara480 but this show has Stephen Colbert. He's a star!
Why does Colbert look like he’s 50… 20 years ago
the positive spin on that comment would be: why does it look like colbert hasn't aged in 25 years?
I know right!? There's an actor in the scene where the two young lab workers were in a break area and one was using a ruler to flip syringes into the ceiling tiles(5:23). The one who was coming at him and eventually ended up having to go into the locker("escape pod"), looks a hell of a lot light Colbert. I checked the description for a cast listing but I couldn't find one I wonder if it is his son?
@@charleskollin1221 nah the actor playing the hospital orderly is also colbert. he was about 30 at the time this was produced.

Hey, thank you for the reply on that! As I continued watching I realized that the character's name was Lawton. In a way I was right LOL because I kept looking at him going,"man that dude's face looks just like Stephen Colbert" but when Colbert wears the eyeglasses as the other character it gives it that Clark Kent effect and it kind of threw me.👍
It’s so funny that this Pilot is 10x cleaner than the actual show
I found it identical. The mother is the coach. Her hair is black instead of brown and the bit about her being a volunteer is the only difference
As a Brit this is one of the few American tv shows that’s as offensive as our comedy shows I’ve laughed my arse of watching this

You could just have to make it funny though. See it's always sunny in Philadelphia
"You may be screaming NO NO NO but all they hear is "Who wants cake"....this makes me howl like hell everytime I hear it
I just spit my coffee out when she said "Im really in a k hole" nice.
I like that they switched the pilot mom to the gym teacher. Who wants hot fruit?
Omg, that’s right! I totally forgot that. The actress who ultimately played the mom was perfect. Everyone was. Perfectly cast.

One of the funniest and best shows ever. Strangers With Candy forever.
Strangers with Candy would be a desert island pick for me.
"Principal Black Man"
"It's Blackman."

“ if I had any kids that I kept .....!”
This is just like my recurring nightmare. See I'm a HS drop out and I must have some unsettled issues with it. I always have these dreams where I go back to school but I'm my current age of 34 and in the dream it's normal to everyone but me. Very similar premise.
In mine I have to go back to school for some random reason and I’m trying to dodge some of the teachers who are still there from back when I was in my teens cause I don’t want them to see me. For whatever reason I’m never in a actual classroom, the dream usually never goes pass the front lobby/commons of the high school
In mine I forget my locker combination every day and begin to annoy the office staff and have to dodge the hall monitors because I don’t have a pass and I’m late.

The day years ago my husband and I first saw an ad for this upcoming series, as soon as I saw Jerri, I was all like "I'm in!!!"
Who ever thought that Gerri would become so fashionable with time? Gen z would love to raid this closet
I randomly saw this on tv late one night back in the day, laughed my ass off then, rolling on the ground again today.

Me too! It was the one where her dad gets ripped apart by dogs. And when Mr. Jellineck gets hit by the car. It was really late at night and I thought " what in the world is this?" I'd never seen anything like it. It was so weird, but hilarious!
Jerri's dad is the best character.

Lost and Recovered Gold from the dank abyss of cable television! 😮
1) this was totally aired, i watched it on CC back in the day.
2) idk why but this has some strange and heavy edits. the part where they open the book and pull out a tape instead was so funny also the actual recording of the tape is really funny and is used for a call back joke later in the episode.
You might be screaming "No, no, no" and all they hear is "Who wants cake?" Let me tell you something: They all do. They all want cake.
god I remember watching this show when it was on Comedy Central. And heard about it from a friends sister who was a prostitute. She said 'you watch Strangers with Candy don't you?' And I said "whats that?" she replied 'oh a tv show you would like'. And god bless that hooker with the heart of gold I watched it and still love it. I always thought the dancing at the end of every episode was great energy to end with. I wish they did more than 3 seasons. You could not put a show like this on tv today its too non PC and with the 'cancel culture' we live in it wouldnt last a week. SWC forever!!
