@@hal8324 haha, yeah she is beautiful. I’m barely spending more now than I did before we were together and she’s going to start working again soon. I absolutely lucked out.
Glad to see the family accepted you. Love seeing your interaction with the family as well. The dogs were definitely happy to see Koi. Here I am thinking things are cheap here, Isan here I come, lol. Beautiful car looks like Koi got the top package deal.
Of course you would find the San Pedro of Thailand. One way in and out, surrounded by water, small beach... etc. So glad you are doing good out there 🤟🎶🎷
Definitely living the dream, friend. I hope to retire to Thailand in around 10 years time. I've visited many times. The trip to the village always scares me as I feel that you are likely to be stripped of your cash at that point. But it looks like you got out relatively unscathed!
congrats to Koi on the new car! i would love to have seen the inside of that camper thing. Can't be much in there if there is room for two people to sleep, can there? Have to see if they're here in the US. Oh, and the Chinese electric car looks very coo. 100% tariff on them here in the states because they're so cheap, and evidently very good. Thanks again.
Yeah, I want to see the inside of the camper too. Maybe when we go pick up her permanent plates next month I’ll ask to look inside. I assume it sleeps 2 no problem with the cab over area and I’d like to assume it can sleep a couple kids too. I doubt they’re in the US as I don’t think the $12,000 MSRP vase model Champ would pass some type of safety or emissions test there. The Chinese electric car was cool. It was the first of its make that I noticed here but now I’ve spotted a few others. There’s another Chinese company doing electric cars here called BYD (build your dream) and I see them all the time. Looks like there’s a few others as well.
Great episode Pete. The money you overspent, you saved in Isan with cheaper food and fruit. Hangry is a real thing! 555 all good, Thank you. Peace and Love Y'all
I wondered to myself, what a Thai daytrip might involve Pete, Koi's family seemed accepting. Her father did well for his family. Seeing and staying in the ancestral home is an honor, no??! Awesome Nephew !! Seems oddly to suit you, i just didn't see that coming. Enjoy your love, you life, and your many days there. ❤
Yeah, her last car had rims, carbon fiber hood, ground effects and a subwoofer box in the trunk. She got the full package on this one but we might do some upgrades in the next couple of years. She did carbon fiber spoiler, gas tank lid Ava handle protectors with her premium Forresta body package.
So you're getting a Thai license. You are braver than I. Maybe it's not so bad once you leave the city but downtown Pattaya and Bangkok are nuts. I don't know that I would ever feel comfortable driving there. Another great video. I find it interesting to see more of Issan. I know that is where the majority of the bar girls are from. Or at least the ones I talked to.
I’m not that much braver. I already told her I don’t ever want to drive into the city. I’m ok for some cross country and she’s had me drive back from going out to dinner twice now but it’s pretty nerve racking. Even though I’ve been here a year, it feels very bizarre driving on the other side. It’s also taking a long time to get use to the car size.
Tbf, I don’t know what the total was. It was really between Koi and her sister. I think it was around 850,000 (about 22k usd) based on some of the talks I had with Koi when she was deciding if she wanted to buy a new car or a used car and the different cars she was looking at.
Well, hopefully for your sake, you`ve met the one in ten thousand bar girls who are not playing the long game to relieve you of all your cash, a classic ploy of theirs is to spend their own money on something so as to dispel your fears that shes after your money, my advise would be to wait until she goes out on her own for the day , gather up your stuff & run.
Lol, she’s not a bar girl. She’s had 2 relationships before me, worked corporate jobs for over 20 years in BK and hates not working which is why she’s going to start working again next month. I do appreciate your concern and my guard is still up but after 6 months together and no red flags, I’m feeling pretty good about it.
@@peteonretreat2023 My bad assuming she`s a bar girl, apologies for that, however, in my experience & from what I`ve seen, its rare that these kind of relationships dont end up in the crapper costing the Farang a pile of money, I wish you good luck.
@@heavanstomergatroid9825 I hear those stories too but I also have friends that have been married to their Thai wives for decades… even in Pattaya. Yup, people get taken out here, I have a couple friends that have been sadly.
Dang, dude! You scored on the girlfriend! Good to see your journey continuing. Congrats to your girl (sorry, I didn't catch her name) on the new car. Does she really need one? Or is that for trips to see the fam? What about parking in Pattaya? No prob? Just curious. I know a car in Bkk would not be wise. Happy trails!

I definitely scored but she says she’s the lucky one. She doesn’t really need a car but she’s had one for the last 8 years. Toyota makes solid engines and cars , as long as your maintenance is kept up , you can last loads of miles .

Your beautiful girlfriend deserves a new house in Khon Kaen
Yeah she does lol. Building a house out there is on our 5-10 year plan. We’re not rushing into things… for the most part.
Similar dealership lounge style as the in the states, making you relaxed and comfortable to make you forget you're spending big money 😂
After buying my house in Texas, buying a car feels pretty chill. Especially when it’s not my money 😅
that RV looks like fun
It really does and I think it’s pretty affordable too. I’m not sure I’ve seen any RV on the road here yet.
The camper is the Hilux Champ conversion....
Thank you. Now I want to see inside of it. I don’t think I’ve spotted any RVs or campers on any of my road trips.
